It’s great to see the old rig brought back to full working condition

I’d probably buy it and fix it, it doesn’t really look like it would need a huge amount of work to get it fully working. It seems like it just needs the solenoids checked, new tires, a bucket, and some work in the cab (key and gauges). The benefits of having it working would go even beyond having it as a showpiece since you could also use it to move things or get machines unstuck

That and it could be useful for heavy lifting if a truck/tractor gets stuck in a ditch or if you need to pull an engine

I’d say 3, 2 to lift the tanks up for draining and 1 to talk shit

I definitely know how powerful backhoes can be. My dad has one that is nearly 50 years old and was only taken out of commission when I accidentally ran it too low on engine oil. I remember using it a few years ago to move several buckets full of oak tree pieces (somewhere around 2,000 pounds) and it had no problem doing it

@bernlew977 it would still work
3
It seems like the 589 kept the old school look but added to it
3
Not working
2
I’d eventually try to fix the air in the cab, that way you can keep cool while driving blue collar if it gets really hot out
2
He can also put the engine that he picked up with the truck into it
2
My dad’s 1970 F750 would also make a decent restoration truck. The body is in good shape but it needs suspension work, work on the lights, and engine work

I’ve never had problems with my dealership, I take my Toyota 4Runner to Toyota and haven’t had any problems
2
Funny that you’re working on one of your trucks fixed up since my dad is getting one of his fixed now too. My dad’s truck isn’t a big rig like yours, it’s an old 1987 Ford Bronco that’s in the process of getting some new tires, new wiper blades, and a new starter in order to pass inspection. we had to get new plates and a new insurance tag since the last time it was road inspected was in 2019 and the insurance tag had expired in 2018

They are compensating him
2
@johnbcountry9568 that or they could put in a fan
1
That and they can be used to make money
1
@Bruce_Wilson I meant the ac system, if that does work then it’s it’s great (most of my dad’s trucks don’t have a working air conditioning system, only the 2015 Tundra and the 2016 F350 do)
1
@hughcummings9185 while I’d definitely enjoy trying out a loader, I don’t have the money
1
@Bruce_Wilson maybe a weed whacker would be better
1
I wonder if the same can be said for old ford trucks?
1
Just imagine having to replace the hydraulic lines on a monster loader like the Komatsu 2350!
1
It probably needs less work than the other projects that he has in order to be usable
1
And possibly for the iron giant
1
I believe that the loader had been left on the property and was never removed from it even after the construction company had bought the land, I think that means that the loader was considered abandoned by that point since it had been sitting there for years
1
Both can be replaced
1
Take the exhaust manifold off this scrap heap, you can probably use it on the loader
1
Exactly
1
@andrewpeterson554 unlikely, those backhoes can take a beating and keep on going
1
@ETGcasper i honestly wouldn’t want to wreck it
1
And stainless doesn’t rust
1
He definitely needs to add an air conditioner
1
Iron giant is probably considered abandoned since it spent years on that property after the original owner sold the property to the construction company
1
@taz5002 he said that it’s has been dealt with
1
Which autocar? He has 2
1
Any update on the iron giant?
1
@dustyseverson402 agreed
