It's common among the far-right actually, since the concept of stewardship of the planet is there both as a secular and religious idea, plus of course far-right thinking is sensitive to the concept that fossil fuels cheat by externalising costs, such as a coal plant poisoning the air to a degree that you'll be footing huge healthcare bills from air pollution that you should count on coal power's budget.

@sethanix3969 It did happen and almost nothing came of it. It's more 'dangerous' to work in a building made of granite than it is to stay within Fukushima the whole while. If anything Fukushima advertises nuclear safety. Why do you think (Russian-paid) luddites like from Greenpeace had to invent weird conspiracies about mutated monster fish showing up in California? Nearby here a guy nearly died when a wind turbine snapped and fell on his car. Applying your logic that means we must live in constant fear of all wind turbines and probably dismantle all wind turbines?

@1968Christiaan Uh yes. Nearly all dogmatic destablisation movements have turned out to have had Moscow's influence in them. Moscow runs the anti-nuke lobby in Europe and has since before the end of the Cold War, to hopefully trick us into sending American nukes away from Europe. Why would Russia make an exception and not push a bit on behalf of belligerent eco-freaks who destabilise society and advocate against sustainable green nuclear power?

What would work better? A private company that has to deliver value and efficiency if it wants to survive, or a bloated government organisation full of apparatchiks just clocking their hours without any interest, for who failure is always an option since the taxpayer foots the bill?

@baronvonlimbourgh1716 Ah yes, an organisation that has loads of reasons to waste money and not work, is more efficient.... Maybe you should stop being childish and come up with some arguments. Such as Woningbedrijf Amsterdam, the state-owned housing provide that was losing millions each year to theft, cronyism and bureaucracy. After being privatised into Ymere and driving out the civil servants, the losses went down, theft was stopped and they built more houses than before. Or staying in the same country, the fully privatised healthcare system, which massively outperforms something like the NHS since it has to be efficient. Most of these private health insurance providers have it written into their mission statement to not make a profit, yet to be able to provide the best product, avoid losses and make the occasional donation, they need to be efficient. Pre-privatisation 1995-2001 Dutch healthcare costs increased at 10-11% each year at an increasing speed, would've reached 15% by 2010. After the privatisation Dutch healthcare costs increase by 2-4% each year in a steady pace.
