  1. It's sad that the ICC has simultaneously done all they can to erode their own credibility. For example by refusing to look into Iranian imperialism (roughly half a million dead in Yemen and Syria, 3 million dead if you want to blame them for the Iraqi civil war) and sometimes going completely overboard by somehow blaming random Israeli politicians for things that are fully outside their control, such as Netanyahu getting blamed for Hamas' insistance on starting and fighting dirty wars. Netanyahu is definately corrupt and definately doesn't sacrifice IDF lives to save terrorist supporters who technically aren't armed, but nobody who is serious can argue he's to blame for the wars and the dirty character of the fighting and casualties that go with it. It will enable Russia to go "See? What the ICC says only just means the evil establishment doesn't like you, these other ICC cases are also ridiculous after all" Already a while ago the Russian blogosphere lit up with stories about how "ICC is racist" because they went after Random African Warlord X, but not George Bush or [insert whoever represents western interests]. And the thing about Russia's current isolated position is: If it convinces anyone outside of North Korea and Eritrea, that's already a plus for them.

  2.  @malcolmgibson5088  Russia didn't cede anything, China unilaterally redrew it back to the borders of before the Russian invasion of China, and anyone who doesn't like it can take it up with the PLA. Putin didn't fancy the chances of the 5 drunken conscripts and their pet dog that he has left on the border there, and declined to take it up with the PLA. 😉
