"Belgium could conquer Belarus" Ouch, anyone who's seen that failed buffer state's 'military' knows that that is quite the insult. 😆

The main disconnect between those advocating for peace now despite everything, and the diplomats, is that 99% of those people are Russian bots, covidiot Russian-brainwashed rioters and paid Russian agitators. I've not seen anyone serious even consider the idea, nevermind find a solution to the fact that Russia will simply use peace to rearm, expand their army and they'll invade again late 2023 or in 2024.

@letsgetsteve Jack Thelad is a Russian bot account. He was screaming about "Ukronazis" elsewhere. But more to the military point, all NATO-supplied artillery Ukraine has, has a significant range advantage of Russian artillery, anywhere from 2-30 kilometers of advantage. (only counting shell artillery) High ground to shoot further is not something Ukraine needs on a tactical level. Especially using Excalibur shells there's already plentiful footage of concentrations of Russians going "Look at us chilling way behind the frontlines" and kaboom, pinpoint destruction. Plus because the Russians are starting to lack materials and definately lack tactics, Ukrainian gunners have started using long range drone recon to pull off devastating strikes with 1-2 shells. They spend a decent amount of time scouting and working out the ballistics before firing 1-2 shells which typically have a devastating effect. If you want to see an example, Funker530 is currently having a single-shell attack that destroys a Rapira AT gun (and presumably most of the crew) on its 'latest' page.

Uhm, Bakhmut is the frontline. There's no logistics route from there to an other place. Kramatork is such a hub.
2
Well, that's why we have logistics officers, who can veto ideas like that before it becomes a disaster.

I doubt such people are analists at all. There has never in modern history been a case where bombing civilian targets has had a beneficial outcome. The last times it did was during the age of pike&shot where bombarding a city with cannons sometimes made the population rise up and demand a conditional surrender (which typically involved the city not wanting to be looted).

You can see it on a map even: The Donetsk water plant is right inside the frontline but outside of Ukrainian control. Probably got hit in the fighting. And seeing as only Russian has artillery there, that's the most likely candidate for the one to blame for any combat damage. Plus of course we know that Russians consider Ukrainians and even expatriate ethnic Russians to be 'inferior' (Donetsk was depopulated through ethnic cleansing, forced flight and forced conscription which all show Russia doesn't care), so cutting off their water to stage an incident is something Russians would feel is okay to do.

Valid point, but pretty sure the Iranian regime will be able to find some goods they can use to get rid of rubles. Just one hypothetical: Buy Russian oil with it, then re-export the Russian oil as Iranian oil and earn dollars that way. Plus obviously Iran will never feel like it has enough weapons. They could insist in being paid in AKs, then send those to Iran's colonial troops in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and any survivors in Somalia. That is of course hugely against Iran's economic interests, but for an irrational act, it is possible.

@nzer57 You're responding to a putinist coping lie, by spamming a putinist 'distrust the free media' lie? Sergei, you're confused. 😆
1
Okay Sergei, why don't you show us where NATO countries have deliberately targeted and knocked out 40% of a nation's powergrid during a deadly winter? Go on liar, show us.
1
@nzer57 Because dumb putinists tend to shoot down random airliners including their own aircraft. As seen in the Russian terrorist strike against MH17 and the shootdown of their own transport plane in Syria.

If you don't know a damn thing about it, maybe it's best to keep quiet while the adults speak. Richard Wagner composed 1833-1882, Germany didn't even exist back then, seeing as it was only founded out of the failed French invasion of the German states of 1870.

@nattygsbord Dumb Americans harping "It's German therefore it must be nazi" simply grind my gears. Guy should either get an education or keep his mouth shut. Not that stupidity is exclusive to the US, but Americans seem more prone to wildly offensive assumptions about other cultures.
1
@Lorenz1973 And if you had read my post at all before kneejerking, you could've read how I explicitly pointed out 1871. Ferland was claiming the composer Wagner was a nazi, which is ridiculous. Not sure what the relevance of your post even is. Hitler also liked to breathe air, just like you do. Does that mean you're probably a nazi? No of course not, that's just as insane as claiming Wagner was a nazi.

Yes Sergei, why were Russia's filthy hands all over those countries? Yugoslavia went into war because Russia encouraged the Serbs. Saddam loved Russia. Ghadaffi was basically just a Russian puppet. The Taliban is ruled from Moscow, with only the Russian embassy in Kabul currently open.
