@AlexP-mi2bc Uhm, no. It's literally illegal to trade with Putin, and basically nobody complained.

@user-yq2wk6yg8s Not just a low price, it's basically just above or just below the price where Russia can make a profit, but it's not technologically possible to just pause oil wells, and you can't just break a trade link and restart it. The more worrying part is that France, Spain and a couple others still happily buy Russian LNG at market value argueing 'we have an existing contract' as to why they don't carry out the sanctions. It's an obvious fake: Law goes above contract everybody knows that.

That's easier said than done though. Here in the Netherlands we have no ammunition factories left in existance. All the government has been able to do is yell at the pension fund investors to re-include weaponry into their investment portfolio so the fabulous riches of the boomers might go towards more defense production. Which is sad since in the Cold War we had a literal 'reserve armee' of a couple hundred non-NATO citizens maintaining 2 dormant ammunition production capacities that would continue to function even during a full mobilisation.

@EverydayRoadster China has never threatened anyone besides Taiwan though. Outside Russia-MAGA nobody seems to think we need to ignore Russia and instead try to monger a war with a country that hasn't fought an offensive war since 1952. (and even that was slapping down a vassal state of agressive India that put Indian troops on 40 km from Chongqing, so offensive, defensive, one can argue)

@teblack2 The Republicans didn't care about migration 1980-2023, so how naive do you have to be to believe their excuses that now, suddenly in 2024, it's all about migration? Besides: If they weren't Putin's obedient servants, the GOP would've made a counter-proposal immediatly with BOTH a lot of aid for Ukraine and their fabled 'border wall' (that doesn't work and can't ever work)
