@tiju4723 You're using many words that means nothing. Did I judge you, or what you've been taught ? Or your actions ? Did I discern (judge) wrongfully or rightfully ? Study the Scriptures and let them be your guide. If you intentionally follow false teachings then you have some serious thinking to do. Not that in the end you'll stand before me, I'm made of the dust of the earth, but before the Almighty God of eternity. Do what you will brother, you have the Scriptures, explain your position to the One who judges all. Your catholic "Apostolic authority" won't do you any good, YOU'VE GOT GOD'S WORD .. READ IT, ACCEPT IT, OR DON'T. It's YOUR soul at stake, not mine. You've typed a bunch of malarkey, like a fish fighting against the hook. The hook isn't me, it's the Spirit and Word of the Lord. You have free will use it however you want. You're like an emotional woman instead of using reason. Go in peace.

@andrevisser7542 Romans ? You mean the "church" that calls itself the ROMAN catholic church ? Different times, same spirit.
I have nothing at all against catholics, but the abominable doctrines this church has practiced, and still do are totally out of whack with the Scriptures.
You alone, and myself, will stand accountable for what we do with truth when it's presented, no one else, just us. If you believe the RCC has the truth, then by all means, that's your right to believe and practice it. I cannot, and will not.
It's probably more productive to pray for me if you think I'm in error instead of the RCC, I have done the same.

@MonteCristo-m2c Jesus said that He didn't come to bring peace but a Sword. The Sword of the Living Word of God which cuts all the way through to expose lies, heresies, false doctrines of devils (His words, not mine) so His people wouldn't be deceived and end up in the pits of Hell.
Jesus struck the first blow in this battle for souls because even then there was a religious institution with their own priests, Pharisees , who had the truth of God's word in the Old Covenant, but tacked on so many of their own doctrines and rules, twisting original meanings of Scripture, until it was a mess when Yéshua came on the scene and confronted them with truth and right interpretation.
Why didn't He just leave it as it was ? Souls are important and precious to God so much so that He sent His only begotten Son to suffer extreme pain and suffering, shedding His Blood as the Lamb of God and the only Sacrifice that was acceptable to save them from their sins , and to liberate them from the religion of the Pharisees.
Nothing has changed, Yéshua's still in the same business today. Time is short, souls are lost, and false teachings abound.
My fight , isn't with the person, but with strongholds of deceit, of powers, that have blinded and binded the ones Christ loves. You can reach your hand to a drowning man but it's up to him to grab it.
Some get angry with me, that's not my problem, it's because I just make a statement that counters the falsehoods that THEY THEMSELVES post, pushing that mess on others as if it's true.
If they can post it, then they should expect that it will be challenged by someone at some time, and they should put on their big boy boots or crawl back in their crib.
I wasn't put on this earth to just accept any false gospel or doctrines of demons. This isn't a game, people are dying lost, we must work while there is still daylight. God bless you .

@Irish__Clan Yes, the Apocrypha too. The reason given for excluding these books is that they didn't believe they were the inspired words of God.
Also, in some cases, they were left out so as to fit with the Protestant doctrines, Martin Luther is one example. Surprisingly though, the King James included the Apocrypha.
The RCC is the authority in their realm of Catholicism and claims to have the authority as to which doctrines, and from which books, that they approve of, and I guess the reformers believed in their right to do the same, since theirs was a movement away from the authority of Roman Catholicism.
Your question was who gave the Protestants the authority to take some books out ?
As believers in Christ , I imagine they claimed the same authority as the RCC claimed. One can argue either way as to WHY they took that action, but evidently they believed THEY had the authority to do it. It's an interesting topic.

@charlesglowacz458 An example of faith in Yéshua alone. Some argue one MUST be baptized to be saved , which I understand their stand, especially in light of Acts 2:38. Maybe I'm wrong but I believe that (1) being baptized is obedience to Scripture, a physical symbol and public declaration of being identified with Yéshua (Jesus) as a RESULT of the inward faith (belief) that's already there.
(2) As we go down into the water, we're identifying with the burial of Yéshua. As He physically died and was buried, so are we "buried" in the water, having died to the old way of life. As He rose from the grave alive forever more, so do we "rise up" with a New Life centering on following Jesus. However, these are done because our faith has already come alive by the "rebirth" (born again) experience of our spirit. You must be born again...this is the meaning. The thief on the cross didn't have the opportunity for baptism, but right there, on that cross, his spirit was born again and his faith was in Yéshua Hamaschiac, he was justified by his faith alone. Should we be baptized ? Yes, as an act of obedience we should. Is it required to be saved ? My opinion hangs with the thief on the cross, his faith was in Yéshua, that's what saved him. If we have the opportunity to be baptized, and we're instructed to do so in the Bible, then why would any believer not want to ? Some will disagree, that's ok, this is what I believe because of the sources I've listed without turning this into a catalog.
