@drstevej2527 During the (Civil) war. Civilians were abused, hanged and shot. To starve them, their crop fields were burned, leaving many hungry people of all colors. Cattle were shot and killed , letting them lie where they fell and rot. Homes were burned to the ground, leaving multitudes homeless. There were many battles but one comes to mind of the Battle of Vicksburg, MS. Small arms fire, cannon shot...then of course there was Atlanta, total destruction from bombing, fires, etcetera. Yep, American upon American (Congress declared the Confederates as American Veterans) and some are buried at Arlington Cemetery as such. Yessir, might've been awhile back but that's exactly what happened...war on Americans by Americans.
