"Left" right" and many otehr political words/phrases have no objective definition. So the definitions are different in all of our minds, different over time, and different in geography. That is the reason why we are all bumping into each otehr in a political fog. We have been semi traditionally taught that left is communism, and right is nazism, as if individual liberty protected by law is the fulcrum compromise somewhere in the middle. I define left as all government control over a citizenry, (and simply call it all communism), and right as its opposite, "Individual liberty protected by law". At least that gets rid of the confusion. The reason why you hear people of "the left" (like all of our news and probably much of our school teaching today), always call people nazi (who today are people who still believe in individual liberty in the USA), and not communists,---is because they are communistic. They will never admit the fight is between government control and individual liberty. So they call anybody who does not agree a nazi. Yes, communism fights communism too. Every war since WW2 was a fight of controlling governments,---while we were taught we were free.

We think "diversity" of human beings only applies to race, as if all cultures man has lived under share the same philosophies. As if all cultures are the same, and none are better or more moral than another.
There is nothing wrong with diversity of race. It is a beautiful thing actually IMO.
But diversity of IDEOLOGY creates violent problems from the street corner, to the most bloody wars mankind has endured. The biggest clash of ideology today, is communism, (at the root of most policy today), vs individual liberty protected by law.
Maybe, (not sure), the only way to end the violence of "diversity of ideology", is for mankind around the world to live under one philosophy. If so, it is true that we do have a choice still.
1) we can live under the philosophies of communism.
2) We can live under the philosophies of individual liberty protected by law, with all citizens having the right to use their brain and compete in moral free enterprise.
If you can see that as our case, all we have to do is pick the one that does not use force, and reject the other.
If we don't understand that, we can't reject communism. Simple enough?
3
-
Correction for more clarity: Groups of human beings living under different philosophies will get along fine if none ever initiate force against another.
But it just so happens that only our USA founding ("exceptional", it was called), based on the philosophies of individual liberty protected by law, and citizens creating free enterprise, (trading money instead of blood, becoming friends, discovering true human freedom.), are the only philosophies for man to live by so far, that does not use initial force against somebody else, which was called a crime. The real USA founding had it almost perfect, and we can see by the results today that we no longer live under those philosophies that created civility and prosperity, because we did not follow them well.
Until we are a full blow communist world, we still have a choice. Tick Tock.

WHAT IS FREEDOM!!??
I think Freedom needs to be correctly defined, because the definition is different in all of our minds. What you think of freedom mostly depends on what you do with it, (or try to do, thinking you live in a free nation.). For the guy who does nothing with his life, (nothing of value), freedom is simply not being in jail. For the guy who works for the state, or a "workers" union, "Freedom" is to let somebody else control your wage, (and many times your thoughts), as long as your wage is higher than the non-union or the average small business guy. You are free to leave the state job or union, but you won't do it for your own real freedom. Then there is the guy who tried to be a hero. For example, Tucker, who tried to make a automobile to compete after WW2, and was destroyed by congress, and almost jailed by congress. Honda on the other hand, in Japan after WW2, was allowed to build a manufacturing dynasty, so who won their freedom by winning WW2? Freedom is the right to do things, that came from our free minds as free individuals, (not a list of jobs a government wants you to do), with your life in a free society. Do we have that?
Yea, maybe we should define freedom, huh, so we know what it is? I just did.

"Sticks and Stoned can break my Bones, but Words will never harm me." That saying stopped being said 1 or maybe 2 generations ago, (I am 59, and we were taught that as kids). You are right, it did define the point of violence as the initial crime. Words can do two things though. You can let them hurt you, (and beg for a baby sitter), or you can "think" about it. Even mentally, words can never harm you if you are "sure" that you are thinking in reality. You will never break down and cry to what you know is false. You will be able to defend yourself verbally is you know what you are talking about. I find a disturbing pattern in a lot of people today. If I simply disagree with them and I am willing to discuss it rationally, many times their brain overloads, and they have to leave the discussion. That is not "thinking",---and their lives are messed up because of it. Do not replace your thinking with your emotions. Emotions come after "thinking", and it feels good to figure something out.

Paul Watson? Oh yea, that guy. Yeeeeaa, I remember him on YT over a decade back. He was one of those "Pot Stirrers" too. What? Did he what? Oh noooo, he never had any answers. Nobody we listened to really had any answers back then, and now, well, now we can't ask any questions. He just "stirred the pot" like the rest,-----------------------------------and this hole we live in now is what we got. What? What happened to who? Yea, I do wonder what that kid Watson is doing now? We haven't heard a peep from him in over a decade ago, I think, like most of them pot stirrers. What? What was that? Oh yea, "those were the good old days too". I guess so. Doug in Michigan. Plato was a inferior. Have you ever wondered why your philosophy course(s) never taught you the difference between the philosophies of individual liberty vs a dictatorship? Nope, they taught us about a bunch of lunatics, (Sans Aristotle, who was not taught properly), who would have been institutionalized after the age of reason for being insane? Yep, we had no idea why we got a good grade in that class of mixed up garbage, were glad it was over, and to never think about it again. That is because Policy comes from Principles, and Principles comes from Philosophy. How we live depends on the philosophies we choose,---and communism does not leave us a choice. We don't even understand our choice of individual liberty protected by law with free people creating free enterprise, but the USA allowed man to be great under those philosophies and it formed civility and prosperity, by protecting the individual instead of favoring a group. Plato saw a perfect chair, (for example of what man has built), in a "forum" in space, and my instructor kept asking the question all semester, "Does a table have a soul?"
Good thing I got into engineering, because that is the study of reality, and it helped me a lot. :)

I don't understand why some people are, (or seem to be), afraid of their own freedom, their own minds in a free society that they can grow in any direction they want as we learn. Sure, we grow up in a world that can be scary to understand, but I never once gave up my freedom to figure it out; to figure out reality. I can't imagine such a persons life, clinging to anybodies ideas with seemingly no thought of their own. I can understand how people got that way, but I don't understand why they stay that way, (like a inexperienced child with perpetual fear),---because we can figure it out, and we have. Just my 20 bucks. Doug in Michigan.

But the 2nd photo, at precisely min 0:52. It is that guy in the red shirt to the right, (sitting straight up as others duck), who looks to be smiling and clapping, is a bit interesting. They are progressive minded people folks and road racing type bicycle racing is full of them. They are not good at making rational decisions, especially under pressure. No doubt, a rational adult, would have reacted better. There was no time to "think" about it. The reaction, like all in the progressive ill-educated mind, was action based on feeling, (not reason), and the feeling of fear replaced quick thinking. It is called "progress". It is almost, "sacrificial" for survival. Or is it?

The answer is in the understanding of the citizenry of philosophy, (the study of how man should live, and where all principles and policy come from.).
Until we are a full blown communist society, we still have a choice of the philosophies we want to live under. So ask people, "How do we want to live OUR lives on this planet?". We basically have 2 philosophies to choose from. Do we want to live under government control, communism, (a farm animals life to me), or do we want to live under the philosophies of "individual liberty protected by law,--and free people creating free enterprise with the right to compete in industry and create industry,--(and not have it stolen from us,--by communism.).
Individual liberty protected by law with the citizens growing with trade,------------ or communism, the lives of farm animals?
We do have the power to make that choice,--if we understand the choice.
This is why your college philosophy courses were a mixed garbage bag of garbled nonsense, (Most studied philosophers should have been institutionalized as insane), and you have no idea why you got a good grade. You thought nothing more of it,--and philosophy leads human existence. It is still our choice.
Personally, I believe Ayn Rand was the best philosopher who ever lived, and they never mentioned her in my philosophy course.

Group rights are not reality. They do not exist. The only rights that ever existed were individual rights/liberty. As we are finding out, when individual rights/liberty are gone, we will have no rights/liberty at all. In the USA, we have gone from, "You re free in this nation, and can grow up to be what ever you want to be.", (which meant we have a brain in our heads, and a free enterprise system in our hands.)., to, "You can grow up to be what ever a dictatorship government approves." My old JH school, (a new school in 1977, Scottville Michigan.), now has the official yard sign that says "Forward to serve". That means serve the state, not your self.

My 92 year old Mother, (still does well), has that TV going on, alone, all day long, and believes the news. I want to spend more time with her, (even though we can not meet with the minds), so I bring over movies, and am even going to start teaching her the game of chess tomorrow. I brought over the move "The Incredibles", because it has some good stuff in it.
As we watched it, I would make a comment here and there, and she did not hear a word I said. She was looking at the TV is a slack jawed trance that reminded me of a child engrossed in Saturday morning cartoons. After the movie was over, I asked her if she liked it. She had no idea of the messaging, saw some pretty colors, and all she could say was, "It was kinda loud." My Mother is not suffering from dementia. She was in a brain dead trance, watching TV. I had never seen her like that before, and she will never disagree with the news.

Hey, I get little news from infowars every morning since obama was put in place, (just above poverty with 2 engineering degrees in manufacturing living in a productive city. Started my own, good, honest business and got myself out of poverty, then told "you did not build that". So you should be able to understand.). I don't listen to jones, and this guy is just another "issue hunter". But I have reason to believe jones is a fraud, and some truth does make it to his site, (I like anything from mises).
jones acts like a freak so you will discount any truth that makes it to his site. It is an effective tool for getting people to reject anything he says, with any truth he may report. Oh, he did not "predict" the twin tower attack, blaming osama, in 2001. He got the memo.
I don't care for Watson much either, just a chit stirrer with a chitty mouth, (most reporters are today, even your favorites.), and his channel title "Anything goes" is quite evil.
How about,---------"Morality rules"? Problem: You don't know what morality is, any of you. Good luck with that.

antifa is an ideological movement. It is an idea, just as the founding of this once great nation is an idea; the idea of "individual liberty protected by law", [Which freed the black slaves in 1863, no other idea/philosophy ever liberated anybody] and "free people creating the free enterprise system", (the opposite of the communistic ideologies antifa follows). The problem is, we don't know enough about the real founding of the USA idea, to choose it. Some of the Black families who were set free in 1863 did, more than any college professor today, as they named their own families, Washington, Jefferson, Franklin,--the men who set them free,---with an idea of individual liberty. Again, The problem is, we don't know enough about the real founding of the USA idea, to choose it. Until we are a full blown communistic society, we still have that choice.
I never met a Black man by the name of Lincoln.

Mankind got himself out of the dirt with idea's, as it is human to think. Some ideas worked better than others in reducing things like poverty, and obtaining civility and prosperity of people from all over the world,--by personal achievement, trading money instead of blood, becoming friends. Only one idea did that. We need to be able to describe that idea rationally, as that idea that formed the USA is being forgotten. To most people, we have the idea of the USA, but it is little known and often smeared. Then we have a new idea, but it is never defined deeply, and made in smoke filled rooms full of stuffy and greedy people, and presented to the population. Sounds good, but we dig no deeper. The American citizenry now stand on the stage of philosophy/ideas with Monty Hall on the "Lets make a deal" show. We are shown two curtains, choices of how we should live in this planet as human beings, and we are to choose which curtain to choose. Of course, all the professors and their students in the audience is yelling "Pick the left one, pick the left one!!"
That is where Americans stand right now, on that stage of confusion, to pick their destiny behind the left curtain. Nobody knows anything about the right curtain, so it is ignored. The fact is, we can not get back to our founding philosophies/ideas, if we don't know what they are to choose the right curtain.

I wonder if Police quit the state and started their own Policing companies, if communities would be willing to hire a company, so they can do a better job for our money.
Of course, that would mean the community could fire the company if it does not do a good job, and hire another, or create their own Policing company.
Policing does not have to be a state apparatus. There is no reason why it could not be a free market industry, and they would be able to get another job if their boss was immoral, or for any other reason. They would still have to operate under proper law, like any other citizen. Then, we do the same with the courts. Just thinking on-line, as usual.

It was unexpected, 30mph over the barrier. I understand that. But my Dad would not have done that in his reaction. The first picture I agree with you,--but the second,---does look like an act of,---wait for it, you heard it before many times,---"sacrifice", (for the good of the all).
That is the "reaction" we did see. "Sacrifice", is what is taught today, and I know cycling enough to know, road racing is really heavy into hippy sacrifice progressive communistic mentality. That is where that reaction came from.

@Thiborfirenz That is the trick of political words and phrases, they have no objective definitions. So the definitions are different in all of our minds, different over time, and different over geography. That is why we are all bumping into each other in a political fog, using those words/phrases, making our conversations unintelligible conversations. We were taught that left was communism, and right was nazism, with freedom (individual liberty) being some kind of a fulcrum balance between dictatorships. I say "left" is all kinds of government c0ontrol over the citizenry (I just call it all communism to be easy), and "right" is the philosophies of individual liberty protected by law, with the citizens creating and owning free enterprise, as the USA was founded, (the opposite of any kind of dictatorship). My definition of "Left and Right", casts away all the confusion in the fog. The "centrist" was always the compromiser between dictatorships.

Isn't it strange, all these issues that ignore the individual liberty of man. What is the actual source of this undefined "change" as we move "forward", (to what? again unexplained).
It is like we are just following the wrong philosophies, ya know?
I think we have to know that to "change" direction to avoid going "forward" off a cliff of communism, we have to understand our philosophical choices.
"Individual liberty protected by law", or "communism" (in a nut shell), are the philosophical choices we have had since before the USA was founded. All the issues (symptoms) aside, that is our choice. Once fully under communism, we will no longer have that choice.
It is really tat simple, because philosophy is the foundation of how man lives. They did not teach me that in my college Philosophy course. Instead, the vague/quirky instructor kept asking the question, "Does a table hove a soul?" all semester long. The foundation of how man lives, is the philosophies we think of and administer. We had it pretty much 100% right, when the USA was formed. It was the opposite of communism, the opposite of the progressive movement that come here to "Change the American Mind.", that had done so to us.
If we want to save our liberty----that has to be expressed often. It is a choice of philosophy, individual liberty protected by law, or communism. As long as we can "reason", (figure out reality), I know who will win that argument. "You" as an individual, with a right to your own mind and life, because you know it. This is what I figured out. Thank you.

"I wish I could stick this pepper spray container’s nose into these coppers’ rectums and discharge it, watching the bastards suffer their probably first-in-lifetime painful empathy lesson by the example of equal retribution." That would only make the force worse. You are right. It is disgraceful and cowardly,---and that is because it is a job of "Duty". First off, you must know that it bugs a lot of them too, and they are stuck. They are stuck because #1) They got a job with the state, and most have no marketable skills or skilled education to quit and do something else. Many got a job with the state,---so they did not have to do that, but they are stuck.
But the real evil here is "Duty". A duty means you have to do what you are told with no personal values, morality or virtues allowed, and all the most evil atrocities of communism has always had "Duty" on the front lines. Myself, I love my own brain, and have no idea why somebody would want to take such a job. Even with communism taking over the world,----I still sleep very well at night. I bet many of them do not.

I can tell that Jones is a fraud, that he did not become rich by selling fish oil on his news site. He has some good source stories, (like Mises), but he acts like a freak so most people will discount anything from him, even any truth. That is why he gets the big bucks, because for the most part, truth dies at infowars.
I am wondering how well you get paid also, for getting people used to these "new policies", by putting them in our faces, but never offering ideas of how to got our liberty back. You are a pretty rich man right now I bet, because this tricky psychological warfare of communism pays people well, (until there is no more free market left.).
You are still on YT for a reason. How much are you worth Mr. Watson?

By taking, (and we gave it to them), the free enterprise system from free people of individual liberty who created it in the first place. There is not a good lawyer in the world anymore, (or judge), who actually protects individual liberty, and every economist thought it was a good idea to mix free enterprise, (that started with free individuals, mostly in the USA), with communism, (that does not recognize individual liberty at all), as if they are compatible.

Where do we go after they are rejected? That is never in our thought processes for some reason, like we will be free walking aimlessly through a desert with no sense of direction. Do we all go to Church and follow a pope who is a communist,----or do we reignite the philosophies that created the USA in the first place,----and demand our "individual liberty protected by law" back, and our free enterprise system, (that free people created in the first place), back. Now----we have solid and human nature direction, (free to think and achieve), to embrace after they are rejected. They pick up hitch hikers wondering aimlessly in the desert very quickly, and some commie pope will point the direction,---if we are not smart enough.

Well, we did not have cars until we manufactured them also, and they took off like a manufactured virus.
The people who hate the free market, (your opportunity), and hate profit when we make it, are the people who create these viruses, (with legal patent rights).
Now if you are old enough to remember some 60's super hero cartoons, (The last of the Romantic era of art.), where the hero said, "We must not let this technology fall into the wrong hands!", we can see that is what happened. But what if the superhero's said, "We must not let our free enterprise be taken over by communism!". What would the world be like today? We would not have these pandemics, for one, and that is a very small one.

They can "get it wrong" as many times as they like. You can argue the issue all you want, that will not and has not mattered.
Why? Because the law went "progressive" (ignoring individual liberty protected by law), and no action will be taken for proper justice.
The only chance individual liberty has is to explain that the fight is "individual liberty/free enterprise", vs, communism.
Talk about the issues, (the symptoms of communism) all you want. We have been going down that lane for many decades, we are now the pins at the end of the ally, and I believe they are throwing a strike, (or trying to), right now. Nobody goes to jail---the ball rolls. Understand this:
issues come from policy. But policy comes from philosophy. Where is the philosophy of individual liberty protected by law, (as we comically discuss the issues with no effect.)? That is all that can win the fight right. Ayn Rand was right.
If we don't get to the core of philosophy, (how man should live on Earth),---you will simply get used to the issues, (people do get used to prison), or be taken care of.
It is too late. I don't even see a 5% chance that human individual liberty (the nature of man) can be saved. We don't know what to argue. Start by asking the question, "How should we live?", and then the game will change course. "We will get exactly what we deserve, and it all depends on how we think." Oh yes. She was right.

I have had the Police in Grand Rapids Michigan attack me also, based on a false police report (that they know was a false police report when filed.), after a Black couple who I got into a political discussion with, went to the Police station to file a false police report, making me look like a skin head racist, defamation of my character on Police record to this day, (this was about 15 years ago). The Police actually "aided and abetted", the crime of filing a false Police report and the Police did what the criminals wanted them to do, harass me at my home. I know damn well, at that meeting at my home, if I would have pulled out a knife on one of the Officers,--I most likely would have been shot.
Officer Donald Lake and Kelly Bauer of the GRPD. You sirs, and your bosses are the criminals of that story. The Police have lost their morals. This is what communism looks like.

So it is profit you were taught to hate? But the free enterprise system was created by free people, (when we had freedom), and belongs to us. So if you want to demonize profit from business that got us out of poverty and gave us opportunity, good luck with that. It is communism that hates profit, (unless they only make it.),---and you were taught to agree that profit is evil. When you say profit is evil---don't expect to ever make any. Prices go up because of travel expenses too, truck/plane companies that also have to make a profit to survive. Prices also go up a lot,---when government nationalizes, (or even interference like the EPA and other regulations), our previously profitable industries. Notice, china has no EPA. Saving the planet from our production, our wealth making capabilities, was never written into the trade agreements, (45 years now, trade with communism), when we gave your free enterprise to communism. Can you figure out what is happening, and why you will retire under poverty, and communistic rule,---if we agree with communism that profit is evil,---unless communism makes it?

The "inclusive" ideas are probably a down factor also, but the company was sold to Europe, (where I think people are taught to not like Americans today, but not all listened.), and alienated the consumers of the USA who have struggled from outsourcing (to china mostly), if our manufacturing and products.
That is probably why "The brand has been falling for a long time". But now added, the drop will be (is), the company has engaged in political social engineering.
Sorry Bud, you made some poor decisions, and I hope you are used as an example of economic failure for future "business persons".
Don't forget, consumers are "business people" too, and still have choices of who to do business with, which you depend on for your survival.
