  1. The DBa meter readings will not mean too much (but can for direct comparisons by one person), with out a standard of measurement, which there may or may not be for firearms. Four internal combustion engines, (I learned this from dirt bikes), there is a SAE standard of, if I remember correctly, 3 feet at a 45 degree angle from the tip of the exhaust outlet at half throttle, in Michigan. Without a measuring standard, the measurements don't mean nearly as much as they could.
