Caused by government regulation. I am an engineer, and I can clearly the force on the manufactures to build something they would not build themselves. There is a name for that type of action, and that name is "Economic fascism". It is also why your regulated gas car will never hit 350,000 miles,---like the old Toyota ad of the 80's. If it were not for government interference on the industries we built as free people, with "continous improvement" of improved metallurgy and design, a car engine today would last 500,000 miles,---and be about half the price. Somebody does not want you to drive.

They are just doing what government forces them to do,--and you are not allowed to compete unless you make what government wants you to make. You will buy what government wants you to buy----if you can afford it.

This is not free market. You are buying what manufactures are forced to build,---and you will pay up the nose for it. Function and reliability takes a back seat to government regulation.

Let me explain something to you. The free enterprise system was created by free people, (mostly ion the USA), who had 'individual liberty protected by law" to use their brains and start businesses and new industries, (trading money instead of blood). The key was individual liberty. We used to understand that a free enterprise s system, (that could not have started with out individual liberty protected by law), is not compatible with communism, (that does not recognize individual liberty at all), and that is why the USA has been losing, with poverty growing here. communism has no friends,---and if Western Culture is destroyed by communism,---you will figure that out. Look man; If you and I did business together where we both make money (or we do not do it),---we not only become more prosperous,---we become friends. I just explained to you how individual liberty and our free enterprise system creates prosperity and civility. We need to get government out of our business and industries that we built. Dude---government is forcing them to make electric cars. They did not want to make them, and we did not want to buy them. Get government out of our business, and then you can blame them for making junk,---and we will not be forced to buy them. Read some Ayn Rand, and grow a brain.

@mamadouaziza2536 "exploded on impact during a crash" There was the Ford pinto in the 70's, because the gas tank was vulnerable to a rear end crash. And then there is hollywood,---that you believe is reality. Almost all gas powered car fires are electrical issues.
