  1. Rowena sounds like a nice place to live. Zero crime, almost zero poverty. Median income over 50 grand. It seems like a place that can start growing.

  3. Sorry dude. Our elected shipped our wealth making factories to communism, and dumbed down our education. Towns and cities existed because of production.

  5. Yep, I lived through it starting in the 80's. The factories that built the towns, that went to communism when we shipped our production to china, went under or moved. Replaced by breweries and pot shops. How "Progressive". Moving forward.

It is the rotting carcass of what was once a great free way of life, that got sold out to communism in china, and a progressive movement in our education system destroying the great values that allowed us to build the USA in the first place. That America----is gone son, just like these towns.

  8. Towns just don't popup from sunshine and rainfall and grow into cities. There has to be a way to make money to build it. I would be very interesting, while visiting these old towns, what the income came from when the town was built, and the economic history since then. Did you know Manistee Michigan, a small town with more poverty than ever today, used to have the most millionaires per capita than anyplace in the nation? The lumber industry built that town. It then kept growing,and citizens prospering, (like most small town USA), during the expansion of factories of the citizen created industrial revolution. Then we started shipping our free enterprise to communism, (I know, the sound like opposites, but yes, they took it to fund communism.), so every little town now has their ghost section, and the citizen poverty rises. I know we can do better than this, because we already did.

  11. About 22 years ago visited Johnstown PA. I rode up that big hill. I was in PA for a job interview in Bedford at Cannondale when they tried to make a motocross bike. Turned down the offer, and the bike manufacturing failed in about 6 months. Bummer. I liked Johnstown, (and I like the people I met in PA.). But my last name is Johns. :)
