  1. Nope. I had to defend myself every time. Some not so well, and some with the precision of a brain surgeon. Frank Slade did fill a ideological gap that young Charlie could not in this young man's situation, (no life experience yet). This scene was one of the last great scenes in hollywood IMO, as much of the 80's were, (the last of the romantic era of art). We have been losing our great values more ever since.
