We have to know math to produce things that create wealth in a free society, so the education was dumbed down and our free enterprise shipped to communism. Not being able to produce things as a citizenry is the core of communist core education. As soon as USA started giving communism in china our free enterprise starting in the 80's, they took the machine shops out of my HS which still had one in 81 when I graduated. Production or poverty. That has always been the choice.
