This is probably one of the best if not the best documentary about the topic that I've seen. YouTube is fast becoming the best alternatives for history lovers. And this one is one of my favorite channels. You and your crew put an extraordinary effort into these videos and it tells. Thank you. Keep it on, Armchair Historian!! 😎👍

This was a horrible imperialist war that shouldn't have been fought. I remembered it well because I was opposed from day one. Worst still, I was in the minority, as most Americans were in favor of this illegal war up to 2008. Horrible. As an American I'm ashamed of it.

11:34 That's a myth. The city of Barcelona is not named after the Barc familya. The origin of the name "Barcelona" is the Iberian word Barkeno, and it has no relationship with Hannibal or Hamilcar Barca.

@convertedmana1857 Although I sympathize with the feeling of condemnation, I don't think individual soldiers are to blame unless they commited crimes themselves. However, I agree with the condemnation of the criminality of this particular war.

As an American, I also opposed it from day one. I still remember it vividly. I felt so ashamed and worry about it all that I decided to give my best in the fight against the war: protesting, writing newspaper articles, talking about it in the radio, etc. You are right, I too, was in the minority; most Americans were in favor of this illegal and unjust war from day one and up to 2008 (perhaps even later). Now nobody wants to talk about it, as if it never happened... Shame to them all!

@deprogramm Get over it? you can't! Not if you fought or died there, much less when one of your own family members and friends died there too! You are probably one of those Trump supporters that also supported the war at the time. Are you now are so ashamed of yourself that you don't even want anyone to talk about it? You get over it! Over your own feelings of shame and being proven wrong for supporting and illegal and unjust war. That's why you don't want anyone to talk about it.

What is going on? The Armchair Historian videos are usually very well edited but this one is a mess.

@MTC008 Then, learn some.

@MTC008 Then, I suggest you shut your mouth.

Thank you. Very short, precise, and historically accurate documentary with a balanced view of the conflict and excellent graphics. Your Spanish pronunciation is very good (although Guernica is pronounced [ɡerNIka], emphasis on the second syllable). In summary, excellent job! KUDOS
