The tdap vaccine or tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccine needs a booster every 10 years. Flu boosters are the most common with those recommended every year. People who travel internationally often have to get boosters quite regularly for diseases like typhoid. Symptoms can be similar among different diseases, so you have to be tested to know which one you have. Is it an ingrown hair or herpes? Is it cancer or an infection? Is it bronchitis or pnumonia? Is it a cold or covid? The covid vaccine works like any other vaccine. You're exposed to a minor version of the virus to build antibodies for it. With those antibodies in place, you won't experience symptoms to the same extent as you would without the vaccine if you contract the disease in most cases. Masks help stop the spread of disease. That's why they're so commonly worn in densely populated areas like Tokyo since long before the pandemic. They don't protect you from getting sick. They protect others from getting sick from you. It's not 100% either. It reduces the chances of spreading disease, it doesn't eliminate them. Big pharma is in it for the money though. They're not making useless vaccines and tricking people into getting them though. They're making vaccines that work and are hording them unless you can pay. That's the evil. Poorer countries are unable to get the vaccines because they can't afford them. Cuba can't get them at all because of the embargo, which is why they developed their own.
