  4. Anytime the US sends the Global Hawk toward Crimea, the Russians close the bridge to auto traffic. The reason is Ukraine has tried numerous times to hit the bridge with numerous weapons, even Storm Shadow, but it is quite long, quite robustly built, and not really all that wide. Even with precision weapons, it is hard to hit; never mind most get shot down. Whenever the Global Hawk gets closer to Crimea, Russia suspects Ukrainian spies in a private vehicle are trying to send a signal that the Global Hawk will pick up, giving away the precise coordinates of the bridge span. This will of course be sent to Ukraine to be programmed into the Storm Shadows. So, Russia sends up an Su-30 and the Global Hawk turns and goes back to Romania. If I were Putin, I'd just shoot down every Global Hawk the US puts up there but Putin is being nice...
