  1. I know the economic impact would be severe, but they really should close the Interstates when stuff like this happens. It is rare, but every time we get ice in Dallas people die because of it. You can drive on snow, but you cannot drive on ice. I don't care if you have 8 wheel drive. I've gotten immobilized (not stuck) on ice in Walgreens parking lot in Dallas. No traction is NO traction. A lot of these folks were only doing 30 or 40 mph thinking they were being careful. BS. Once you hit ice, you are sliding at 40 mph with zero control. They should have shut I35 down until the sun came up.
