  1. Owner already got his money's worth; 160K on a JLR engine is basically full use. I have a 2011 Jag XJ SC with 110K miles, last summer my 19 yr old was driving it and the rear (plastic) crossover pipe finally gave up and he saw the low coolant warning and steam from under the hood. I told him 2 years before the quickest way to kill an engine is to keep driving if you see low coolant warning or steam from under hood. The kid listened; he pulled over immediately and called me. It cost me $2500 to fix, but that's a lot cheaper than a new engine and I just did my errands in it today; idles so smooth you can hardly tell its running.

  2.  @jdookie2908  I have 2011 Jag XJ SC. If you can smell coolant its leaking; it may be very slow but it is. The coolant could drip onto hot engine components and vaporize long before it can drip. Check that water pump first.

  3.  @neolerades2987  You not familiar with modern Euro engines?? Plastic everywhere, and you have to remove half the accessories to get to the part that cracked. The parts were only $800 (yes a few other pipes not just the cracked one); everything else was labor. 😂

  4. The owner "drove it unitl it stopped" with no coolant. WTF you expect to happen? Even a Toyota 3.5l V6 will quickly die with no coolant in it....

  5. I love Audi's; the design, the incredible interior quality, etc. I just can't say "NO" to them. However after one experience with an A6, and reading for 15 years about the V8s. I only buy Audis with the EA888 motor. ONLY Any shade tree guy can work on it since its in every Passat/Golf/Jetta that comes his way. 10 years with three different Audis with that motor and zero issues other than water pump. Use good oil (Mobil1/Pennzoil/Motul is all I ever use), change at 5K miles, and rev it out half the time----don't drive for 50K miles like its Grandma's Lexus. I love the 6 and 8 cyl Audi but I'll never buy one.
