My 2020 A4 is a magnificent example of Audi manufacturing supremacy. I tell friends (who mostly don't believe me) that Audi----as long as you stick with the 4-cylinder engine option---is the Lexus of German auto industry. The 6-cylinder is not a bad choice, but you will pay dearly for it. I don't personally care for the looks of this new generation, but the bones are above reproach.

As an American, it is sometimes hilarious to listen to a pissed off Brit. It isn't just the accent, British people use FAR more "proper" English words in their everyday lives than Americans do. Most Americans only have a limited vocabulary and even the ones that have an extended one usually forget most of it when they are angry and go right to slang. For this reason I often find it so entertaining listening to a Brit go off, I don't even pay attention to why they are mad. Had a girlfriend from London a decade ago and when she'd get angry with me I'd smile and laugh because being cursed out by her was very entertaining. How seriously can you take it when a woman tells you she's "absolutely livid with you!!" ?? That didn't last... :-)

Yes, it is "rock chips on the hood" in American-ese. 🙂 Another shocker: I cannot believe you got trans service on a V8 Porsche for about $350-----that is insane. I had trans service done on 2012 Jag with ZF and it was $600.

I can't believe you can buy a drivable car for 150 pounds----that's about $200. You can't buy a non-running car in the US for $200; the scrap price is about $300: the seller could call a number and the car would be picked up no questions asked and net them more than $200. Here, that car would probably go for at least $1500.
