Thank you for your thoughtful and honest discovery into the history of the formation of cartel's. What I don't understand is how prohibition against one substance is seen as a bad thing but perfectly rational against others. The facts seem to be, at least among young people, that obtaining an illegal substance is part of the thrill and the allure of experimentation. I don't know how many of you have noticed but ever since marijuana has been decriminalized it has become sort of a take it or leave it party favor, and true addiction and heavy use has begun to normalize. In a completely free and healthy society barely 4% of the population will tend to addict to a substance, my question is why is western society 10 times that figure or more? What if we cut the legs right out from under the cartels by ending prohibition of all substances and beginning to treat the root causes of addiction, inequality, loneliness, and despair. Then see what comes of it.
