Yeah this was handled poorly. On all sides. If somebody asked you if you have weapons you don't mention a rubber mallet, what she was really asking is if he had firearms and that's what she should have asked him. When you relay that stuff to the responding officers you say he's obviously mentally unstable, based on his 911 call. That would have put them in a different mode and could have saved him. Honestly the 911 operator was 75% of the reason he was killed. You ask questions about his history and medications and you don't tell a bunch of trigger happy responders that he has weapons and nothing else. Like he's hallucinating and making other statements that alter the response.
