@grahampowelljr1 There was destroyer name after him the USS Evans. After that there was no ship that was named after him. However in November 2013 a petition was created to name a ship after him. In May of that same year the Naval Station in Newport Surface Warfare Officers School ship handling training was then dedicated as the Evans Full Mission-2 Simulator in his honor
