  1. My parents were both working class people who bought their last home for $18,000 in the 60's. 20 years later it was paid off. 7 years ago when dad passed we sold it for $850,000. The nice retirement home mom went to for several years was $5000 a month. All 5 kids were able to get an $80,000 inheritance as well. If my parents were renters none of this would have happened and mom would have been a drain on us kids. Renting is pissing money away.
