There is not many runways around the world where you can go that far off the end without hitting something. After the berm was a concrete wall and then hotels.

Maybe they were in the process of restarting one of the engines or maybe it was the APU or it could have been another aircraft we were hearing that was behind the person filming or perhaps the bird strike engine that they meant to shut down that was still running but not producing thrust as it should because of damage
