Joshua Talactac , If a Country has a problem with people just walking across it, unchecked, then it should be obvious that a physical barrier would help with the problem (and people crossing a border unchecked IS A PROBLEM). It may not stop crossings 100%, but it significantly reduces the number of crossings. Many Countries have physical barriers on their borders, so it’s not unheard of “in this day and age”.

  4. Joshua Talactac , I’m not even sure why we are discussing the border wall. It’s a decided issue. It’s already being built. About 400 to 500 miles have already been completed with more coming.
