I'd view it as excluding them. I had friends act like I was crazy and were very condescending and mocked me. How did I respond? I talked to them like dogs, every insult on their double digit IQs you could think of. They quit speaking. Nobody bullies me for being right and principled. They wanted to act snooty and pseudo intellectual. When I finished dressing them down they felt like a mouth breather at the nervous hospital. If they're going to alienate me, it's going to be for a reason other than using logic and making my own medical decisions.
