The age of legal marriage ( ie. Allowed) in many states, and probably lower in others was 14 until very recently. Some its 16. You belong on a watchlist for stupidity and naivete.

It won't be worried about being grounded or sent to bed without dessert, it'll be worried about being murdered. It'll probably cringe every time they shop for luggage.
