In the 70s I got talking for a few minutes, to a guy who was a friend of a friend. He couldn't remember anything said to him a few seconds earlier, he had to write down everything said to him. I remember thinking how awful that would be. Dont know why he was like that unfortunately. Never in a million years did I think that I'd end up like him, with terrible short term memory loss. But I did, and probably not many months after talking to this young man I received severe head injuries in a car accident, aged just 16, which left me with total hearing loss on one side, and no sense of smell... For life. Also short term memory loss. Still very lucky to have lived. I can forget things a second later. I have note pads in every room, to jot stuff down, because in an instant of hearing, seeing or thinking something it's gone. Doesn't stop me having a near normal life though. I was a self employed hairdresser until I retired last year. But the memory thing drives me mad at times, But, it's just one of life's annoying little inconveniences, could have been worse! 💙
