  1. Very interesting! I have an Amtrak cross-country coming up in July, BWI-NYP-CHI-EMY-LAX-ABQ via Acela, Lake Shore Limited, California Zephyr, San Joaquins, Southwest Chief. One of my bucket list items! Anyway, as your experience has proven, no one on a tight schedule should be on a train in the first place. Also, getting off at Reno as an alternative was a great idea! I'm just curious as to how you and Will managed to get another roomette the next day. Those are generally booked up months before the trip!
