Female leads in games is fine as long as the company doesn't make a bad game. And a bad game, considering the largest part of the gaming market, would be if the woman is too whiny and the game is too emo. Among many other mistakes they can make when they go with a female lead (and yes games with male leads can make a ton of mistakes too obviously, including whiny/emo).
I loved Horizon 1 for example, but you can see clear signs in Horizon 2 of the company (Guerilla) going completely woke. Horizon 3 might be terrible, we will have to see. Would be really unfortunate.
I quite liked Ghost of Tsushima. But I kind of want Ghost of Yotei to fail. Sacrificing 1 game to send (another) message to these companies is EASILY worth it.
Because let's be honest, they didn't pick just any woman, nor any woman with a slightly bigger build. They picked this particular woman because she's a woke activist, that was the number one reason. A lot of thought goes into casting, denying this would be a joke.
Suckerpunch needs to be sent a message. And it's in their best interest as well, before they end up somewhere from which there is no return, like Ubisoft.
