While you are educating everyone - can you explain how do you at least detect and get a lock on hypersonic missile to start with? Because you know, that plasma shield around hypersonic missiles absorb RF and so no existing RF based radar systems like Patriot can even detect it. Those Ukrainians are just amazing. First the Ghost of Kyyv was shooting down 20 Russian jets a day, now they are shooting down hypersonic missiles. 😂😂😂

Yes, and Ghost of Kyyv shot down 60 Russian jets, including 20 in one day, and had a dogfight with 5 jets at one and shot then all down. 😂😂😂

@imperialpresence1173 I'm not confusing the two. Why don't you educate what happens when a missile goes at hypersonic speed in the atmosphere? Ionization. What does Ionized air do? Absorb radio frequencies. What happens when RF are absorbed? There is nothing to reflect back to radar, i.e. no reflection, i.e. nothing shows up on radar. You are welcome.

@miraphycs7377 patriot is designed to do a lot of things, but doesn't. Just ask Saudis and Israelis how will they work against regular missiles, much less around hypersonic ones .

@ExodusX13 who's taking about methods? We are talking about what's available operationally. German IRIS-T is an infrared missile defense system, but too slow for hypersonic weapons. And ukrane is claiming to have used Patriot, which has no IR capability at all. So try again..

Yesterday, Ukrainian air defenses shot down their own drone over Kyyv, it fell and set amaze a train station. Pretty embarrassing. And the same incompetent idiots managed to accomplish something very difficult? Not buying it for a min... Desperate Ukrainians are trying to boost morale - they are on track to lose Bakhmut before May 9th, Zelenskyy is now on the run in Europe and not eager to n return.

Aerial targets - 0 Ground targets - 32 All successfully destroyed ground targets were American soldiers in a barracks which got hit by a malfunctioning missile. 😂😂 So there is that. @Bitchslapper316 yes I know the patriot system was redesigned, after the US got hold of a Russian S300 back in the 90's and learned how an actually finding are defense system works. . Then came PAC2, except it turned out to be a total garbage due to timing issues, then came the kinetic kill "upgrade" PAC3,. The problem is that with kinetic kill the precision has to be in point and it's not. And if course then there are drones, something that PAC3 still had trouble detecting in the first place due to relatively low Doppler shift of drones.

No current RF based missile defense system is capable of tracking hypersonic objects. That's why all the anti ICBM systems are designed to intercept in space, not after it re-enters the atmosphere. So forgive me for sticking with science and not buying into Ukrainian supernatural phenomenon tales. The Ghost of Kiev story was more believable than this nonsense. So stop the cap. Let's instead discuss on how such "competent" Ukrainians managed to shoot down their own drone over Kiev yesterday, and set a train station ablaze 🤣

Too many videos/witnesses to deny it. @jatpack3 ballistic missiles are acceleration stage in lower atmosphere - can be tracked, "hypersonic" in upper atmosphere or space - no air means no plasma, hence can be tracked, terminal stage - if hypersonic, is invisible to the radar. That's why both Russian and American anti ICBM technology destroys the target in space and doesn't wait for it to reenter the atmosphere.

Patriot's Radar can track hypersonic missiles? 🤣. Source? If you have figured it out how to track hypersonic missiles already, get to the Pentagon stat, they are very interested to hear from you. While it's true that plasma blocks RF communication on all directions, it doesn't mean that hypersonic missiles cannot receive GPS signals for example. A carefully designed air defuser on top of the missile could create a plasma free spot. Alternatively - given the short flight time, an inertial guidance system void be used and be accurate enough to control the entire flight.

Israel bought Patriot missile defense to protect against primitive Palestinian missiles. The system performed so poorly Israel designed their own missile defenses from scratch. According to one Israeli intelligence officer, they studied the Patriot system to learn what not to do. First Gulf war - the US declares Patriot system to be a great success against Iraqi SCUD missiles. A later Congressional investigation finds out that our of 48 attempts 46 missiles missed completely, two detonated close enough to possibly slightly change the course. In other words a massive failure. The Pentagon admitted the claims of Patriot:s success was done to boost morale. So what is more probable, a system that has a history of poor performance magically achieving things it's not even theoretically capable of, or it's a ukrainian propaganda to boost morale?
