@rg-cc5kg Britain, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, the Nederlands all has overseas colonies, not just the Brits. If you think the West got wealthy mainly due to industrialization, you haven't bothered to study history. Taking wealth out of colonies was the PRIMARY cause of wealth growth. Just look at the trade if Britain return China - Britain imported all kinds of useful good, and experts drugs there causing massive opiate addiction.
