@katana1960 wrong. Russia didn't run away from Afghanistan. They went in, and got rid of America, Pakistan and Saudi backed terrorists, installed a secular pro-Soviet government, built hundreds of schools and hospitals, and then left with all their equipment. The pro-Soviet government actually lasted 3 years, until 1992 before falling to Taliban. The US went in, destroyed schools and hospitals, got their asses beat by Taliban and ran away literally crying and crapping themselves and abandoning their Afghan collaborators and $85 billion in military equipment. 😂 But different, don't you think?
