  4. This is definitely risky, but Russia is sticking with beam riding missiles for now. Fire and forget is waaay to unreliable of a technology so far, (but with AI improving it will change) - Javelin for example is advertised to be good for 5 KM. But at that distance the hit rate is about 5% or so, at 2.5 km it's about 25%. British NLAW is even worse. Another factor is cost, these Kornets are about $30k a pop, while Javelin's are $200k.
