@mikeb5664 in democracies a candidate who loses in popular vote, doesn't get to be a President. The US is a Republic, but nothing democratic about it - the 4th branch of government gets to decide who the president will be.

My grandfather was on Soviet side in WWII. Fought alongside other nationalities, covering each others backs. No one trusted the ukrainians though - half of them would betray their white unit for a German candy.

@bonnie7898 <<< another BSer with cute story about British Monarchy being ceremonial. It is not. The monarch has near absolute power - ever hear of Royal Perogative? Every politician swears to serve the crown, not country, people or constitution. They are nothing but puppets for the monarchy. Calling for abolishment of monarchy is a criminal offense. The crown hasn't needed to use it lately, because the Republican moment is fairly small, but if the discussion ever became serious, they absolutely would.

@bonnie7898 on paper the US is a flawed democracy. In reality, the fourth branch of the government decided who the president will be. Just look at the dictator in the white house using FBI/DOJ trying to remove the leading Presidential candidate from the ballots.

@ninjaweretiger4273 Canada is a democracy😂😂😂. It's a democracy in a sense you get to elect puppets for the crown. Then they swear allegiance to the Monarch, and do what he wants.
