If you do not have the proper equipment (3 flashlights min., plus extra batteries, I carry a flare and glow sticks, rope, trail tape, easily reachable knives, water, A BUDDY) do NOT go beyond the mouth of the cave. Only where the light shines in and reveals what you are surrounded by and, most importantly, what is under your feet. What looks like a floor is not always a floor. The darkness inside a mountain is like none other. It's so dark that it can absorb more light than normal darkness. Like, your flashlight will seem to not work as well (look dim, not travel as far, not spread out light as much). Also, be expecting strange run-ins with a number of different animals, large and small. Firearms create a number of issues inside the mountain, might be best to leave them in the truck. I carry a lighter, though that is not a form of light in the mountain, trust me.
