These things have nothing to do with parenting. I hope they know that and it’s just the producer’s captions are goofy. They just happen. And parent’s manage.

@zsofiabacsalmasi2511 you are misunderstanding culture. When a child is in a predicament of sorts the parents show up an apologize for not raising their child well. For example a case that made international news. Korean Air executive (daughter) had a fit in plane and was gosh awful by American standards to flight crew ordering the pilot to return to the gate and sent one of the staff off the plane in NYC of all places. Some on tape. I don’t know where homeland security was after 9/11 and the 80’s hijackings American’s are rightfully a bit sensitive. Then there was allegation company people went to threaten and bribe family. Big mess. The Korean public was outraged. She was convicted in Korea of part of what she did and of course as typical of the justice system it was overturned. But her father came out and publicly apologized for not raising her well. Basically they are taking the blame publicly cause it’s is just reflex to do so. My child is sick, it’s my fault. My child did something, it’s my fault. It’s also a measure of hope. If I change, which is easy, all will be well. From western standards it’s hard to find fault with a couple of new parents following through getting a developmental assessment after noticing or being told there might be a delay by another before the age range of 3-5. This child turned 2 last month in the western age system.

I hope the producer of this has a consequence for the way this has been received by the public. All kinds of wrong in the comments. For lack of a better word Bad Karma to the commenters. I hope updates stop suggesting people are to be faulted for medical issues.

@veeenaaa3455 some kids with autism seek out noises. I agree we saw moments of the assessment and for good reason. It may be to early to know any of this for certain. They are getting better but it’s not like there is a blood test or scan where it’s clear the diagnosis. The parents identified a possible problem and sought a profession and not just the internet or their neighbors advice. Well done. Good luck to them all.

Are you seriously suggesting to Korean parent’s they should do educated efforts. The land of cram school since kdg, private tutors, rented study rooms... They are actually educating the public on this and that is helpful to so many parents there.

@gigglegagaing5 the internet is not med school. They are modeling the signs so that others can benefit so yes they are educating. May it not happen to your kids or grandkids.

@gigglegagaing5 she is opening up and showing others the signs to get evaluated and that it is not scary to do so. I hope neither parent reads some of these comments and I hope most viewers don’t stop responding to their nonverbal yet baby because they think they will harm the child’s development. Mom is not telling parents what method to do or not do. Some are afraid of evaluations and their child’s record and what it could mean for their future. I think these parents are brave. Going to meet her child’s needs without the child being able to communicate it with words is actually good parenting and good bonding. They leave the womb unable to talk for many months after all. No baby book the baby didn’t sign off as being the right baby book is the right baby book. There are reasons there are thousands on the market and they keep changing the advice. Take SIDS and how to place the baby in the western style crib for instance. Perhaps I’m showing my age but they flip flopped on that multiple times while I was growing up. So much for the modern and scientific twentieth and twenty first century.

@gigglegagaing5 this is what is wrong with Korean attitudes. One doesn’t make themselves ill, one can’t prevent their child from having a developmental delay. What is this 1960’s America blaming autism on the refrigerator mothers? They gave him life, they give him care. They do not have shortcomings.

@gigglegagaing5 early intervention was not even mainstream until about 20 years ago. Even then the advice was wait for a speech delay. It was mostly focusing on the kids with an obvious diagnosis at birth like Down syndrome or a premature situation.

@gigglegagaing5 actually plenty of kids particularly those who are oldest kids who don’t get any developmental assessments until kindergarten in most countries. This is early. Plenty of parents who parent this way don’t have kids with a speech or any other issue. Gosh. May this not happen to your kid or grandkid. You really are asking the universe to teach you a valuable lesson at the expense of your great great grandkid. Well I may be no one but I AM denying what you are suggesting about the parents. I don’t how complaining they didn’t read the book you read on the matter while the child was still in her womb will improve the child’s verbal skills thousands of miles from either of us? Wow, you read a book! Sadly this child could have further labels and to things you might find in a book are genetic. Certain things are not diagnosed so early. We know moments of the assessment with the professional. The part the producer feels is interesting enough to capture a viewers attention to keep watching and hopefully in agreement with parent’s.

@gigglegagaing5 the child is 25 months this month.

@gigglegagaing5 I do no wish it happens to you. I worry it will happen because you are being so mean to these parents who are being completely responsible in raising their child.
