  2. Korea fertility rate, less one child per woman. This is a crisis. Worldwide the average is 2.5. 2.1 is replacement. It’s barely over replacement. Naturally 20% won’t be fertile. The 80% who can be need to know it’s okay to have 2-3 kids. Imagine if the average number of kids for the next ten years of couples getting married was 3 kids. The problem would be solved. Then you have many people leaving Korea for school and never coming back, preferring to remain abroad.

  3. An class to learn something fun or an instrument is fine. Or a subject the school doesn’t teach like religion. But spending time and money doesn’t make sense at these ages in the core. Put that money instead into retirement and savings and the kids will be better off when it comes time to learn a trade or college or for that tutor if they do need it. Family spending tens of thousands a year to maybe get a high paying job so maybe they can have a nicer apartment.. if they just had not wasted all that academy money and invested instead.

  4. Why on earth is a family more than two kids shocking? It only happened the country promised benefits to people who got sterilized or stopped at one or two kids a few generations ago. Now the economy seems centered around people not marrying or having more than one even though people want to. What is the excuse now? The is education, medical care, food, clothes, shoes and housing. Now people are growing up with siblings to help care for aging parents, no aunts uncles or cousins.
