@eva2269 noise complaint is a big issue in Korea. They put everyone in high density living. You know seniors blast the tv and talk loud cause of hearing issues. There was a building show about renovating abandoned properties in Seoul and I think that is the best option. I do wish since they build lovely modern apartments in Seoul and have for a good 20 years it would be a given all the apartments of that age had proper soundproofing. Even the vacuum cleaner produces too many decibels. Could you imagine being a young mother and constantly getting such complaints. No wonder so many are done after one child. Makes the short baby stage less fun that is truly is. Even with single family homes neighbors make a way to irritate each other.

Apartments have been the norm since the 80’s. They should be built with proper sound proofing between floors. Mats usually help.

@cimsim597 soundproofing has been available in the modern world for decades. You do realize how prices have jumped irrationally in South Korea over the last few years. It’s a month by month kind of market for renters and owners. Maybe they should just move to countryside?

@cimsim597 their home looks fairly new. Or at least newly renovated. It’s a scandal they are not all built with decent soundproofing. Price is built around location and whether low rise or high rise. People have to be able to live in their homes. No wonder few children are being born there.
