  1. They called themselves Mormons, choir, I am a Mormon campaign and those commercials in the 80’s telling people to get their free copy form their Mormon neighbor. Anyone over 7 can call them Mormon. Just cause they want to identify as something else does not mean we have to oblige.

  3. You can not tell me you are Mormon for decades and decide to identify differently and expect me to change. I am a Mormon campaign ended in 2018? The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was the name for decades. When I was young commercials encouraged me to call for my free copy or ask my Mormon neighbor.  The missionaries have not changed their names. It’s Elder or Sister and their last name. And the reporter used the gosh awful long name.

  4. I am 52. The church when I was young had commercials encouraging people to call this number and get their free Book of Mormon and for a time free New Testament or to ask their ‘Mormon’ neighbor. Then there is the name of that choir. Then there was the I am a Mormon campaign. They called themselves Mormon for decades. Just cause they want to identify as something else does not mean everyone had to go along with it.

When I was a kid on tv the church put out these commercials and encouraged people to call this number for their free Book of Mormon, sometimes also offering a free New Testament as the translation quite different OR to ask your Mormon neighbor. They had Mormon in the name of the choir several decades. There is the I am a Mormon campaign that was fairly recent. Just cause you all want to identify differently does not mean we all have to go along with it. Mormon was a name you called yourself. Not one assigned to you by others. If you want to be gas lit by your leader it was never the name be my guest. I know better. I use the name cause you all told me to use that name. The LDS was the attempt to separate you from the offshoots that still practice polygamy. Although Emma and son’s branch did fine back east never having had polygamy. Something not right with BY. Even that branch had a name change. CJCOLDS just does not roll off the tongue. Just like the font size change on the missionary name tag another marketing group will revert back to Mormon at some point.
