@sarahsoutar252 orthodox Christian celebrate on a different day. Different calendars. After the USSR they started doing Xmas on New Years so people would have a similar winter holiday and no one would miss celebrating Christmas when it was forbidden. In the west there are many Christian’s who don’t want anything to do with Christmas and plenty of atheists putting Christmas trees in the house and gifting their kids in December.

@sarahsoutar252 well Catholics have advent, the weeks leading up to. And some countries that are Catholic and Christian as well as orthodox have a special heart for the epiphany. Santa is presents. USSR Santa comes New Years. I’d say former, but… you know it seems to be coming back again.. Religions may stay around this time. They help the population rate go up. Seems to be a concern.

@elena79rus explains a lot. You do realize this family doing this channel have set foot in a church. And it was not empty. Your patriarch i have seen doing church in videos and it would seem a certain gov leader attending. I’m thinking someone watches or he would not being going to it.
