In the US homeownership rate is 66%. And plenty of people living in apartments for temporary work or school or plan to retire somewhere cheaper so are not planning on owning a home.

In the US home ownership is at 66%. Plenty are renting and are happy in big cities who just moved or don’t intend to retire there like NYC. The US is not a country of people living in tent cities.

The only problem are the maids hired from foreign countries, they don’t get a nifty apartment they get a horrid room as a live in and can not freely travel out of the country.

I don’t understand the crack at the end about diversifying communities. They identified the number that was short. They built units based in income and affordability. What is the problem? The west tried and failed to house the poor in high rise even starting off with a mixed income model. The five year occupancy requirement was smart.
