This could actually make housing affordable. Are there parts of Japan where every house in the block is the same?

There are some vacant homes due to incarceration of people. Some cities are losing people. Too much crime/taxes. Also some homes abandoned after natural disaster in the area. People don’t want to live in that region anymore. Also some small towns are losing population, same as there. Also some own property in the US as an asset but don’t want renters living in it from abroad. They are owning it for the assumption of increase in value and can not easily manage the property from a distance. When seniors pass on because in America there may be multiple kids left behind they may not be in agreement what to do with the property or it may take time legally to get the house sold. They may have gone into assisted living owning their home but not had time to downsize or sell it because of health. They suddenly broke their hip and spent 3 years in long term living and then died never making it back to their home.
