In U.S. you can buy alcohol in a grocery store.

@2cats4tea79 I am in a blue state. I think it can also matter what town you live in. Some dry. In IL we have both liquor stores and can get alcohol at grocery store.

@2cats4tea79 my point is it’s not at the state level sometimes city. Sometimes the state is fine but the city or town or parish or county is a dry. This refers to buying it at all. It depends on who can get a license to sell liquor and who can’t. I have been to 5 states in adulthood and can’t remember a single one where alcohol not at the grocery store. Most the country is wet.

@2cats4tea79 something is wrong with you. Even the states you rattled off have grandfathered exceptions. Alcohol sales are not exclusive to state law. If you are near a major city you will know that city also wants the revenue for the liquor license so you need one there. If you did a poll asking Americans if it was unusual to find beer at the same place you buy hot dogs almost everyone would say no. You can’t say in Alaska you can’t buy alcohol at a grocery store that has a population of 700k out of 330 million people and say see you can’t say you can buy both beer and eggs at jewel in the U.S. I simply said you can buy alcohol at the grocery store in the U.S. you are the only one qualifying it.

@2cats4tea79 if towns can chose not to sell it and the state does the state isn’t really the regulating body.
