  1. I think the desk would be better in the spare room. Nicer for your spouse to just have the room as a bedroom? Since you have the space. Kid’s room should swap and would make a better parent’s room.

  2. It’s not illegal. Once puberty sets in most parents separate boys and girls. A person getting welfare has rules about that. A foster or adoptive child entering the home there are rules about sharing rooms and how much free floor space. But a regular family paying for their own home with bio kids can combine them however they like.
