  191. The tailors mother is the most annoying person. Anyone can be a guardian for someone at a hospital. ACHOO girl was for model/teacher boy and they hadn't even met. She yelled at him for throwing up for his interview and called him twice to whine about drinking soju. That was their relationship at that point. It's all to reveal important information. There is no scar. Now does everyone else find out? He doesn't tell her that Gypo was released, or sent the warning box or photos. He is scared of her leaving the tailor shop but has no guard for her on the wedding day. Little brother didn't get told she was in danger. He also put his niece in danger. Leather jacket was right. If he had known he would have been stuck to her side like glue. If it were a ruining of the wedding police would have been involved. Then he waits hours to go after her. The writers were goofy. One character said her phone was turned off, then we see the groom tracking her whereabouts on GPS. How when it's turned off? Honestly it seems that not only does Yeonsil get pressure from Gypo and mother and thugs, she also gets pressure for the tailor and parents all through this courtship. It's simply a matter of who is less creepy. I like the supporting couples. Samdo and wife, achoo girl and boy friend. Boy friend and mother should have won a special couple award as well. She did get the first love letter after all. Those two have chemistry in an unexpected relationship to have chemistry. And not in a creepy way. They are way fun to watch.

  195. A group home is more efficient than orphanage. Not all are gov funded some are charities particularly faith based with little to no funding from government sources. It would be nicer for kids to be in pairs of 2’s inside these mother’s own houses. But if there is a chance for the kids to return to their families a group home ideal. They do not stand out living in an ordinary apartment. Korean has a stigma against orphans. Course a stigma against villas too. Course a stigma for single mothers. Still when they come home from school other kids won’t see them enter the grounds of an orphanage but a typical residence. Lots of orphanages are closing as more retirement type homes needed. I noticed most the kids in the group home are not the same age. There is a lot of competition in orphanage among same age children for resources and attention. Lots of people taking what is yours. A small group of kids in a house with a some adults looking over them seems ideal. I adopted from China a 1 year old. They cared for him well. But if I were to compare this group home set up to an orphanage I would think the group home set up being preferred. We had to do some classes ahead of adoption and a lot was on orphanage care and effects, etc… America has kids in foster care and kids in group homes. I don’t think we have any official orphanages anymore, some institution types for some extreme medical needs. Korea has become more affluent. They stopped sending as many kids for international adoption. I think some domestic adoption picked up. I think more kids in state care than 10 years ago still.

  282.  @jadefields9020  actually adult adoptees pressed for the change, most living abroad. They didn’t like not knowing who their parents were so the government made a law saying a child needed to be registered. However it being on the registry hurts people cause until recently your prospective employer could find out if you were a single parent, orphaned, etc.. supposed to be illegal now. A few celebrities are going to have to be single parents, impossible as they are managed by their companies as indentured servants. It is said that Apink isn’t allowed cell phones. So much control over waking minutes. Crayon pop said the group members were responsible for the costs of setting up the group and got a smaller portion of the profits. The contracts are too long. Every player is a part of the company not a lawyer paid for by the entertainer. Another issue. Korea also lessened the number of adoption by foreigners. They are not a poor country anymore. And older adoptees felt like they were sold. If you can’t put the baby on your family register cause it will haunt you whether you raise it or not and the child for life if you do raise it or the child remains in Korea and that registry could be attached to them in some way, you will abandon it illegally. That means dead babies. Thank goodness for the brave pastor. These are unnecessary orphans. So many babies are simply staying in state care in Korea. Many are actually children from broken homes. Shared custody isn’t complicated.

  296.  dokebi79  here is the thing about Korea. For a man you go to school and military between ages 20 and 25/26. At 27 you may or may not get your first full time job or you are a temporary worker for a year or 2. That is if you didn’t take the college entrance exam twice or spend an extra year learning abroad so you are 28. You have no money. May not have ever held a part time job. Your parents gave you allowance and spent a gazillion on hagwons learning languages you will never need for work and study abroad. If you went to college abroad you will likely remain there for work. What becomes of your parent’s? They put all their money into you. They were not saving for retirement. If you stayed in Korea all this time around you will need more of your parents money or several years for enough of a down payment for a home or a jeonse deposit to live in someone else’s home while they invest your deposit. Terms are one to two years. Which means the gov can’t let prices correct ever. If the 500k apartment is worth 490K a month later the sky is falling and everyone failed. If the value of the apartment goes up to 700K in 2 years the government says they are going to fix it by doing x, y and z but no one really wants it to change and go down cause that is a sign of declining economy. The landlord demands another 50K to live there for 2 more years or you get your deposit back you are still paying for and try to find an apartment with the jeonse you have been paying off, plus come up with moving fees. You did get a great job at 29 for a big conglomerate so your salary is high. BUT they will retire you at 55. All of that work for 27 years in the labor market with another 15-30 years of living before you die. You open up your own business selling chicken or coffee to make ends meet cause the price of rent for the business or apartments could go up 40% in 2 years at any time and to pass the time. Your parents paid for private academies during elementary, middle, high and even college. Perhaps you lived away to study to pass the entrance exam for Samsung for a year and they paid that. They paid college itself. Would you want to do that for a child? Does anyone want to be financially responsible for 30 years for another person? In the US it ends much earlier. It’s not uncommon for kids in high school to earn money and start taking control and responsibility for some of their purchases and car insurance and clothes. Even some school costs for college. If parents just invested in stock in Korea instead of paying for all that prep for school/job their kid would be financially secure. LOL.

  315. For many decades they lived under successive dictatorships. For several decades they lived under the notion you should have one or two kids and raise them well. The economy was centered around. It was also centered around the notion you married fully paying for an apartment. Not enough market correction all that time. They decided everyone had to go to college but didn’t have enough college necessary jobs. Part of it was to delay childbirth and marriage. The war on babies was real. It’s kind of silly when you look back. People said they were suffering cause of the fees for middle and high school. Yet they were dishing out 20% of their income on private education after school. Everyone does their best to do whatever everyone else does. If your classmate has a north face jacket you must have one. If your friend at a reunion from college has a designer bag you must have one. If your former classmate of rank 5 does not marry you won’t at rank 6. The hierarchy. It’s just bullying. It’s maddening. The worst grade on the test was a 77% but since 70% in the grade got an 80% or higher you failed. Anyone less than a 92% got 2nd and 3rd tier. Everything is judged in comparison. So everything matters. The ones that marry in their 30’s don’t realize the biological clock won’t cooperate. Things can’t be put off forever. If your boss marries and does not have a child you won’t have a child. If she won’t have a child what gives you the nerve to have a child? It’s mad. All family members income is intermingled. Parent and child’s. Parents are supporting kids into their 30’s. Kids are responsible for parent’s debts. Why would you want a wife and child at 40 when your parents gave your spending into 30’s? Cause you did college and military service as required and studied a few more years besides to give you an edge in hiring. By the time you retire at 55 mandatory for the great company you work for your kids will be in high school and need your money for another 10 years. And there are no memories of family time cause dad was at work or you were late coming home from mandatory study. What is a family they keep saying they expect people to have? The main thing is everyone is moving to Seoul. They could be living perfectly fine somewhere else. It would be like telling everyone in U.S. they have to live in San Fransisco. And work there. Or at least live close. Why? Korea has a number of cities with 250K- over a million people. Why are they deserts?

  323.  @davidp2981  America constantly give hundreds of millions and billions to other countries while at the same time accepting tens of thousands of people per year. We also are over 20% of the UN budget. We are also paying almost twice the agreed upon NATO amount, many allies can’t manage the 2% GDP. This is not the year to be giving tons besides those two organizations to other countries. Personally I think we should only give 2% GDP to NATO and the UN a should not get more than 5% of their budget from any country? Congress should at a later point if everyone is back to work and taxes don’t increase for anyone and we have surplus money do a foreign aid package. They spent months not getting another stimulus. Can’t manage a budget without extensions. We are still forced to restrict economic activity in blue states. When its ‘all over’ in October or whatever month let’s be generous and have them try to pass a stand alone bill for foreign aid. Does anyone really think Pakistan is going to use the money to study gender? Why are we giving money to countries that hate us? Why must we give money to Egypt? Do you think the regular person in Egypt will benefit from the money at all? They hated us under Bush, Obama, Trump. Let them take money from countries they like. The American worker needing stimulus and having to do unemployment benefits this year or having to close their business or having to be at home while their child does not attend real school despite the high property taxes, state taxes and federal taxes does not understand why this year their federal income tax money, for the months they were allowed to earn money, is going to another country. Why? Worse we are going into debt to give Pakistan money to study gender? There are 2 and women and men can do the same jobs. No study money is needed. I just saved everyone $.25. Rather I saved our grandchildren a dollar cause we don’t have the quarter.

  377. I hope that is the case. If jobs are mobile then why is having kids a problem? Take a fews off and then return or go to a different company. The problem with the big companies is the mandatory retirement. You spent into your mid twenties on school, college and military. You get a job at 26 if you didn’t retake the college exam. Only to have to retire at 55. And now instead of 60’s people live to 80’s. Before people had a few kids in the current job market with the current irrationally increased salary so could give their elders allowance. Now they could have saved half their income and still not afford to buy noodles. Not that they did they threw all their money into the one or two kids they patriotically stopped at. Not that they spent with any of them. If they were not at work their kids was in mandatory after school study. If half the money spent on hagwons in Samsung stock the kids could leave home with a house and it would not matter what school they went to. The Korean government asked a lot of people through the late 90’s. The public isn’t going to work hard to make it easy on them. Their grandparents were taken to the cleaners obeying the government, dictator, etc.. housing increasing 40% in 5 years is not sign of a positive economy. Housing falling .2% in a month isn’t a sign of negative economy. Before they promised housing if you got sterilized. Now they open a kid cafe to encourage births. Good gosh! Further there is no war or occupation in memory. There was for the grandparents who sacrificed having kids, time with kids, saving anything for their retirement and risking their necks in military service and losing 3 years at that time in mandatory military. A couple at a company during the financial crisis married and one was forced to give up their job. Five years later they were not opening up positions for those let go. Soon every couple with kids will inherit two family homes. So the next generation is set. Unless they tear down and don’t rebuild to shorten supply. Cause God forbid the price of an apartment go down .2% in a month. 40% rise in 5 years and no one’s child will be able to buy in adulthood. That is not good. Thousands a year wasted and 50 hours of time wasted on English in middle and high school so the brightest can leave the country and study work abroad, or go on vacation a few times. Why is it on the Korean college entrance exam? College in Korea is conducted in Korean. So much of the household budget going to learn things for the sake of a test. It’s fine it’s a subject in school. It’s just too much and irrelevant. If workers can’t go home at 6 hire more. There is an unemployment problem. You have the people. The real problem is that Apple isn’t run by family why is Samsung? We have seen the Korean Air sisters and mother behaving badly. The Kdrama’s do not exaggerate.

  440.  @danielblue4460  the couple who will reside in the property is getting a loan from a pay to give the landlord a deposit they give in exchange for living rent free in the property for a year. In a year they will renegotiate. So basically people with surplus properties make people take out loans to give them huge sums of cash to invest rent free in exchange for living there and in return the renter gets the entire deposit back at the end of the term where the renter has to either stay under the terms the landlord places on the next years contract or find a new property with favorable terms. So a couple wants a Jeonse loan for a studio apartment. It is worth 300K. The landlord wants a Jeonse contract amount of 200K. The couple saved 100K. Takes out a loan for 100K. They give 200K to the landlord. The couple also pays maintenance fees on the place like utilities. In a year the contract is over and they can move and get back the 200K. They give the bank back 100K and are only out $840 for interest payments. They then look for a new place to rent or buy. Maybe the current landlord will enter into a new contract with them for 208K and then have to come with another 8K either from what they saved that year or maybe the bank will loan them 108K instead of the 100K? The trouble is with prices increasing the landlord for a similar place may want 300K cause the property is worth 400K. Can they get another 100K loan? Even though there are laws about how much the current landlord can increase the amount, that does not always work in reality. Some landlords are turning away from Jeonse and moving to a large refundable down payment plus monthly rent system. So maybe the next time the landlord will rent that 300K place instead of wanting 200K Jeonse since their property might have jumped in value to 400K they may instead with the next renter want a large down payment and monthly rent as well. 200K and 300 a month. That way they will make more money than just the interest off the 200K they invested short term. They may use the next renters 200K deposit to repay the first renter their 200K Jeonse. But say the gov let’s apartments fall. The landlord won’t be able to get 200K lump sum from the next renter. This is why prices will never be allowed to fall short term. In the US a home worth 250K at purchase may be worth 300K 5 years later but then drop to 240K year 6 and stay down for 8 years. These corrections are no big deal with people staying in properties longer. The corrections allow for young people to afford again.

  455.  @nicatina  that is why the birth rate for sustainability is 2.1 and 2.0. Some may not have kids. For lack of sperm in the relationship, disability, accidental death and children’s lost to illness before growing up, and more. World wide fertility is 2.4. Barely replacement level. Poverty is an interesting term. To get a low rental housing you need a down payment of 60M. But that is like 6 years paying monthly rent. How many elders live in a few dollars a day? How many families have empty homes in the provinces so why are people complaining about housing costs. Such waste in the country. Why are single people moving into one bedroom and not senior couples leaving the larger units for families and newlyweds? A person working 40 hours a week is considered not having a job there? Cause it is not a full time position with a big company? If you decide only the 1% or 4% are doing fine and not in poverty you have a skewed outlook. The only reason the birth rate went from 6 to .7 is the government told everyone babies are costly and not worth it. Work 12 plus hours a day. Spend 3 years not 2 on mandatory military and 4 or more in university. Take the test over and over extending your nonproductive years to get a better score. They enlisted the media to push the narrative on tv and in movies. Neighbors got together to get birth control and harass neighbors who had that 3rd child. Irrational exuberance the growth is not sustainable for a developed country. 50% increase in housing in 4 years is not a positive achievement if you never let the price fall 20% in another 2 year period. They won’t let it fall they like the tax revenue from the sale too much. Poverty, ask your family born in 1954 - 1972 about poverty then and now. About freedom and dictatorship. About overreaching into personal affairs. They gave one time incentives to do sterilization. It’s a scandal. They made the public bend over backwards and deny themselves basic human rights so their job of government and economic benefit would be easy. And they kept those practices in place for many more decades than they should have fearing they would end up having to absorb millions from the north. The generation of today is not the sort that would swap their gold wedding bands and kids dol rings if there were another economic crisis or any kind of crisis. Because a teen not owning a long black North Face quilted jacket is poor. Because a 5 year old not attending 3 hours of hagwon afterschool doesn’t have parents who care about her education so don’t play with that kid. It’s all nonsense. As if it really matters if the kid lives in 24P in a high rise or a low rise building. It’s greed and superficial pride. I could care less if a classmate lived in a townhouse or single family or apartment. About whether they went back and forth to mom and dad during the week. Could care less if their parents worked for Apple or some small company doing computer programming. In the U.S. people having families don’t live in Manhattan. They live within an hour from Manhattan and commute to work. Single people live in Manhattan. Must everyone live in Seoul. Might as well give the rest of the country to China, Japan or Russia. South Korea might try artificial wombs and raising kids in orphanages and boarding schools. Since they hold kids until 10pm for voluntarily mandatory study time it’s like that already. Is there a childhood in the country and any family life with parents drinking with coworkers and kids at hagwon all hours? When 25% of children are born to women under 30 and the rest over 30 you are doomed. You can’t just decide to have 3 cause you have 4 bedroom apartment now at 33. You may get one. It might take a few years. You may have been better off getting a loan on apartment at 28 and marrying then. Prices just doubled in the complex you want to live in between 28 and 32. It was affordable at the time, you just got greedy and had to be overly clever. But if you started at 28 you could have had two or three before running out of eggs. You can only work until 55 some companies. Maybe it’s extended. But you will live until 80 and companies won’t keep on a 70 year old. That is decades of boring. No family. No spouse. No job. Why waste your youth? Spending every free moment from 11-25 on school and afterschool and military only to get 25 years at the actual job. Instead of spending 2200 a month on English kdg put 100 in a money market. When the kids is 45 they will have a million dollars. Inflation put 200 a month in a money market. Why piss away so much money thinking you need to to make money? You don’t. What you will need is people more than money when you are old. Already the ones working the market and harvesting the cabbage and fixing the fishing nets and diving for sea food are elderly women. That is your future.

  522.  @elliegrace6410  that is the case though. In the 50’s 6 was the average. It got to 4 kids really quick. 2 before the 80’s. Many families stopped at a son or tried once or twice to get to a boy or stopped at 2 girls. That is a lot of families with only 1 child. One or none for over 20 years. And a lot of families saw their only or second child emigrate. A lot of women never married due to the imbalance and given single motherhood taboo didn’t have kids. Korea is not friendly of immigrants. All the English news source focus on Gangnam and what the gov is doing about Gangnam. 5% of the county lives there. Who cares about that one district? Who can’t solve a national issue over one neighborhood. Even New Sejong City has doubled. On their watch everything has to be up. In regular OECD countries you have corrections. But then everyone doesn’t move every other year. Or have to come up with 10K’s every other year just to not have to move. A rich person uses 100K’s to buy an extra apartment so another person can give them 250K to invest in exchange for living there rent free. If costs go up the person has to give 10K’s more just to stay or they get their deposit back and tries to find a new place and landlady a new person to give her an interest free loan to invest 300K. Why not just invest those 100K’s yourself and not take an interest free loan from someone else? It’s insanity. It works if the population is going through a baby boom and doubling every other decade. Not for an advanced economy. I think it will go to 30 million and then stay there for 10 years and then start climbing again. People want to marry and have a couple kids. They want the conditions to exist for that to be what most people can do. Korea needs to send students home after school and adults home after work. If there is more work you didn’t hire enough people.

  532. If you actually read scientific data you will see that pregnancies at older ages are less likely to go to full term if pregnancy is achieved at all as they take longer to get pregnant since the chance of pregnancy each month is less than that of a 20 something and may not happen at all. Let alone being able to have a second. The reason the birth rate it down is cause the age women are having babies has risen. This was all arranged by South Korea from the 60’s. The reason they wanted women in education was not to educate them but prolong marriage until older ages. It was a means to lowering the births each year. When you have entered your 30’s your chances of pregnancy start to snowball down the mountain. The graphs are everywhere. Google miscarriage rate by age. Pity as in other countries education is not a problem and people marry and have kids while still in college. In 2020 there were 249K babies born. 156K first born. 16K were third born. The birth order of child after that maybe a few dozen. It’s cause age at first pregnancy is 32. Part of the reason for childless couples after late marriage is not the media line of choice. It is cause it just didn’t happen with or without medical technology. This entire childless by choice is in part a big lie. Lots of people wish they started trying earlier. The entire having it all and marrying later does not mean you will get everything you want. Just like marrying earlier you may not get everything you want. To remind you start of menstruation used to be around 14 and now it’s a few years less than that. 10-12. That is 2 less years of eggs in your 30’s. You get all your eggs and birth and they begin releasing earlier. Your body does not make more of them. So your mom’s 30 is this generation’s 32 in number and quality.  @pixelmagicbeat8131

  534.  @Ben-kz2km  in Korea real estate is what people put money in. In the U.S. it is stocks. You see it was gain gain gain. Korea will never let people lose money in a place in Seoul. They will manipulate supply to keep that from happening. So you have a second property. You don’t just rent it out for 2K a month. What you do is rent it out for 600K for a two year period. It’s worth 800K. A person needing a place has money saved and gets a loan for the rest to rent. For 2 years you invest the 600K given at the start of the lease. You keep the dividends, etc… when the 2 years is up you say to the person here is your money back or you need another 20K for the next two year lease if they don’t want to move. If the 800K house is worth less than 800K there is a problem. If the person decides to move they need that 600K back for the next rental. They can get another rental for 570K. Where are you going to get the 30K extra you need cause the place you are renting to them won’t go for more than 570K either. The government can’t handle it when several landlords can’t give back the deposit. Huge housing crash would follow. So they manipulate the market. In 2015 the same property was worth 500K. So the rental amount was 350K. So in 2017 it went up. The landlord could say to current tenant I was 20K more or move. The landlord could easy get 375K from the next person and did giving the earlier renter back their 350 and having another 25K extra to invest. It called Jeonse loan. Google could explain it better? The landlord never wants to pull out their investment. They always want the person to stay or another renter to move in a few years later and give them more than prior renters deposit and for that to happen the market has to price the place higher. After many years renters save enough to buy and end up with a mortgage or paying cash.

  535.  @bryanbaumgartner5302  the WHO, the Western Media, some northeast Asian media and more dangerously social media shut down any conversation about the lab. Youtube, Twitter and Facebook, Instagram and tik tok. This is when you started to see social media flag posts and comments, remove them and add information to them stating the opposite in efforts to stop misinformation. Then they started to do the same for the election. Then they removed Trump entirely a few months after the election. For the record Facebook is no longer removing or commenting on post relating to the lab theory. For the record Hunter was being investigated. The virus was actually the Trojan horse for media to start censuring and removing then President Trump. You had a man always portrayed badly by the press and influential people. But when people were able to listen directly from him you could make up your own mind. I don’t think people outside the US actually knew this. I would flip between CNN and FOXNEWS during the debates and when they both used to cover rallies. On the bottom of the screen they would announce what he was talking about. CNN at some point would simply put the President in a tiny box and instead talk over while the event was in the corner so they technically covered it but the public could not hear him over their discussions of how they hated this or that. Then they stopped covering them all together. When he ran in 2016 he rented a venue and thousand were inside waiting to hear what he had to say. The protests outside and the hired brawls inside cancelled the event. The mayor, who was the chief of Staff for the current administration would not control the protestors so the event could happen. They can’t have him talking they want to instead just tell everyone he is the next Hitler. The took off his direct comments and video on 1/6. Not everyone was watching it live and didn’t know the media was lying. The social media giants helping them spread the lie. For the record the only problem about the lab was the lie. Things happen. 99% recovery. Some countries had better health systems than others. Truth telling could have led to better treatments earlier. The treatments were also initially countered by the media and many Democrats. In fact many were not initially going to let their state take the “Trump” vaccine. It was only after November election they were all for it. Posing for the camera getting it. Look above and you will a CDC “comment” under this video.

  595. Some people just bleed money. This guy had an apartment. His mom had an apartment. For some reason those were not good enough for him and he wanted an apartment in Gangnam and he wanted it now. 500,000 live in the Gangnam area. There are 51,000,000 living in Korea at the moment. The 1%. The average home price in Beverly Hills California is 6 million dollars USD. Are people day trading in LA area just and using up the equity in their current homes to finance that so they can make enough to buy a house? Not really. And some would move out of LA or out of state if they wanted more house for the money. When you read the English language Korean news they talk about properly prices. They only talk about the rise in Gangnam and then maybe Seoul in general. They never talk about current prices in Busan or Daegu or Incheon. And they only talk in depth about special regulations to Gangnam area and education there. It’s like the editors live there and are freely advertising so their apartments rise in value. That is now costs x per pyeong or per m2 for an apartment there and how many years it would take to earn enough money to buy there. I noticed the people in this saying it similarly to what I have read, almost exact words. I only make 35M it would take 20 years or so on to move there. It’s irresponsible journalism. They talk about the number of students from the area to make it to Korea’s Ivy League. I can’t tell you how many K dramas I have watched where a doctor has had financial hardship. Where a SNU graduate has had financial hardship. All these messages saying what people should want and how impossible it would be for anyone to get it.only 1%-4% make into these top schools. In Korea one way to live in an apartment is to give the owner 50%-80% of the value of the apartment and pay no rent for 2 years and get all of the money back at the end. The landlord invests that money and returns it to you at the end of 2 years or maybe says you can remain in the property by giving me another 10M. Also to be returned. Or they want the property back cause the price rose 20% in 2 years and they can way more from a new tenant. To get that 50% of apartments value a person goes to a bank. They need only 120M to borrow 400M for a 520M valued Jeonse on an apartment costing 800M. If they were to buy an apartment themselves they would need a larger percentage down payment than the one for a Jeonse loan. Because of irrational exuberance an apartment going up 40% in 4 years is considered good. It going down .1% in a month is considered a failing economy. They don’t permit major pull backs in prices over there. Partly because of so many on 2 year contracts. The landlord needs the next tenant’s deposit to pay back the former tenant in full. No one is settled. Living in an apartment under 6 floors is considered a villa and where poor people live. A subsidize apartment complex similar and kids get teased. Their parents may have put down 80M or pay 600K a month but still that is considered a housing project. The older apartments are massive so really expensive. And the seniors are not downsizing. It would be mad. Built when people lived with parents they supported and had a few kids trying for a boy. There is now so much newer stock of studios. That is where the singles go. If they move out. Imagine being expected to move up to a home 5 times the size or remain in the studio. A lot of single 50 year olds will be inheriting their parents 44p apartment. Only they will have to pay 100’s of M in tax.  @oneforall1201

  632.  @andreiistrate2214  it is for the benefit of the general public. The general public would be waiting much longer in traffic if this not done and the city doesn’t have to put in a light saving money and further irritation if residents having a light that is not needed most of the time. There would be a lot of complaints if the area was a mess cause there was always a UPS truck making a right over a half hour period. I grew up in a Catholic neighborhood. Hundreds of cars in a five minute period making a right out of the church parking lot. It was not enough to warrant the police doing that service. But it was annoying to everyone around that area you just learned to avoid that street certain times on Saturday and Sunday for those 5 minute periods. The church only holds 800-1000 so they just had many different times for services. Some walked and most drove. An established mega church, many thousands attending at once, that built would have a few ways out of the parking lot in order to get approved. A church starting out renting from a industrial park or a school would not have that. It’s paid for, there is a presence of police at a place where several are gathered which has its own benefit, better to provide traffic assistance than deal with clean up of an accident. The squad car is a great reminder to slow down and not be aggressive cause you are tired of waiting so long in traffic. Robbers are not going to be blocking the parade of UPS trucks in order to break in and steal the contents. As for high schools there are traffic patterns expected of buses, students and parents picking up and dropping off and within the parking lot itself. You have to a go certain way to go north and a different way to go south as a parent. The person going north has to go the entire length of the school and down a winding path leading to a side street where you must turn right and then you are a light where you can turn left. The person going south can immediately turn right in a right turn only exit almost immediately but they are stuck behind the students trying to exit to go right or left. They don’t want 600 cars all going right and screwing up the next several lights or seeing a ton of crazy upturns. So they have an officer there briefly to send 300 cars left and 300 right. Even then my son coming home from a different school was impatient when the driver went past the high school during dismissal cause it always took extra time. I avoided the area if I picked him up for say a dentist appt after school the exact same time. I would rather go around. It took less time. But the drivers obviously wanting to save fuel go the path that is shortest. The residents want UPS there. It’s great for jobs and accessibility to packages. Companies pay taxes like residents so another plus. It’s not usually a free service. Everyone wins. My current parish is a new build in the suburbs 25 years ago. The church is on a corner. They have points of access to the parking lot on the west and north sides of the building. We never need police assistance except maybe at a fiesta or if a school rents the space for an event. It’s no different than a group wanting to permit to have a parade, protest the correct way, have a block party, city team makes the championships, etc.. Police and fire are informed and possibly are needed.

  654. She wanted them gone. Having seen some of the family channel she never took responsibility for their needs. They had to make the doctors appointment for themselves. Not her. The day they tied their shoe was the day she stopped tying their shoe. Cause if there was a sign they could do it themselves she never did it for them ever again. Yet she always micromanaged everything. She never let them keep anything. She was always tossing out their things. The only closet full in the house was her own.. Most confusing was she would encourage them to act out for content and then punish them for acting out. While Chad was sleeping in the desert at the behavior survival camp Ruby threw out all his clothes and most of his stuff. I think he had 2 shirts left from camp and was 14 and he was responsible for getting more clothes himself. Can not legally work though she made money off him and he could not drive how the heck was he supposed to replace his clothes to have enough for school? Her house was minimal. Even the kids closets she kept bare. There was some item on a shelf and she didn’t like how messy it looked on the shelf in the closet which had doors on it for pity sakes so would trash it. In the car she would just be ruthless. Maybe a kid kept a paper out to be signed on the way home. Maybe it didn’t make it out of the car. She would find the obviously important paper and toss it. A kid wanted to drop an activity and she manipulated her back into it. It was not like they didn’t want to do anything just there were too many conflicts the kid always had to manage BTW and she was just done. Then she would tell viewers that J decided to keep on with ballroom dancing as if were 7 explaining how she came to decide that while we saw the entire exchange. It felt manipulative. You watch 10 videos and you think oh a nice big family. You see 20 or specific ones, and signs started to appear. These people were goofy before 4 years ago. I mean all families goofy to a degree but all families don’t keep the content in unedited form and publish it for 3 million people. I remember the rant against the teacher about the lunch. The need to be contrary to the teacher was telling. The know it all tone talking down to the viewer whose dismay was expected she almost wanted push back for more views. The I hope she starves and is uncomfortable. I still remember. Not all parents can drop work and drive an hour to drop off lunch. She could. But at minimum she could say I’ll make sure it’s in her bag before we leave the house tomorrow. Have a sandwich for her or something substantial ready for when she got home from school. Part of it was the bother. E made a lunch before. Ruby was thinking why do I have to do anything that E managed to do herself once? I think she learned that at a BYU education week session. Totally taken out of context. I wonder if maybe her anger was at the loss of income and attention from 8 passengers? She seemed to thrive off positive and negative comments. She bragged how CPS thought they were great parents after the visit about the bean bag. It just encouraged her to push over the line even more. She showed off her basement with kitchen telling viewers the basement was not for adult kids to live in. Once they turned 18 they were to be out of the house. I think she resented the fact there were so many kids and some were still young. She and Kevin dehumanized Chad, R and E often. I worry about A and J. Maybe what they got was worse cause it was not as obvious to viewers. Shari had a channel of her own and often took on caretaker roll. I suspect the 100K missing from her bank account was Ruby and Kevin’s doing. Or the cult. It’s a cult. Connexions and moms of truth nonsense.

  688. The Roseanne tax episode from the 90’s was totally off. As well as the episode when the politician went door to door on the platform of tax incentives for companies to move there. Look at Indiana. It was a win. I think the best storylines and the most real was the small business times with the bike shop and lunchbox. Confused why he left the city job? They are coveted. He should have stayed instead of house flipping. Roseanne really shows it’s all on location. They are in a horrible state and a small town. I’m from Illinois I know. The fictitious town really took a hit when the factory closed. Won’t watch anymore. The country now is doing just fine. Unemployment rate at historic levels for every demographic. Federal Taxes are lower for people actually paying taxes. Property taxes are high in blue states. Stock market is high and everyone not getting a company pension plan should care about that. Wages are up. The states that just raised the minimum wage have found their workers to not be making more cause their hours have been cut. State schools gets thousand of tax dollars per student, make money on athletics and research and publishing, get tuition from students and the gov funds the grants and loans in large part, and the prices have increased greater than the rate of inflation for over three decades. Why? So three hundred students can be taught by a single professor? Where is the money going? Community college does not mean you will get a crummy job. The Middle.. they never took money or living seriously. Funny show though.

  757. She was not a single mom. She was legally married to the guy who went to prison for a short time and lost his license but that suspension was ending and he could get a driving job soon. She had the two little ones when he was employed. If she found a job what to do with the two little kids? When she had them she was married with the husband and dad in the home and working. There is an update. 3 years later they were moved into a safe place to live. 9 years later they split. She had jobs off and on but when the marriage ended she was unemployed and depressed again. After 8 years in the current home no sign of mold anywhere. Clearly it was nothing the family did or didn’t do with housework or maintenance. They were demolishing the mold estate after all the homes were built wrong. The oldest 3 working and out of house. The oldest two with partners and they started a family the fourth barely and adult at 18 but already got trained in a few things and seemed to help with babysitting for niece and lived with mom and little sisters likely quite helpful. It seemed the third also put her life on hold a bit to take care of mom and sisters. One of the girls cut hair. Another worked in a store for a bit but then a care home. Another in a care home. The mom worked in a care home as well. Nigel drove a bus. The mom had done some recent training to do funeral work. It is actually quite neat how they are able to get training I different things. The second and third working in a care home were looking to get more training as well. These are the people doing the real work. The older two, each with a kid including income of partners were making more significantly than if they were on benefits. They were able to give their kids Christmas. Take a trip now and then. Yes I could have saved the original family tons on their budget by cutting cigarettes, alcohol, hair coloring and telling them not to get another pet when the dog(s) die. People with little can’t make the same money mistakes people with a healthy income can. I would have gotten rid of the trampoline in the yard but why would they let go of anything with everything so hard to get in the first place, especially with grandkids who might jump on it. Besides it costs money to toss it. The other thing nice was they were not one of the few residents left on a housing estate, they were in a neighborhood with neighbors and able to walk to places. Further they were settled so they could get on with their lives like everyone else.

  976. No one should take their life. Suicide is the leading cause of death of students. Why? Today’s parents were beaten by their teachers. They are not going to take it anymore. Teacher’s told students for the last few decades first tier you eat chicken, second tier you make chicken, third tier you deliver chicken. Even foreigners have seen the dramas where the teachers tell students if you don’t go to SKY you are not even human. All the pressure. And someone needs the blame when Jane or John get only a 96% on the tests. Could the country chill? Teachers of yesterday drove up today’s adults into a frenzy. This is the consequence. Students are not only not being born cause can’t take resources away from golden child but they send golden child abroad for study and work if they don’t make it into SKY. The country is in constant bully mode. It’s is because of rank. It does not matter if you get a 96% on the test if 23% of students got a 97% or higher. You are in the making chicken rank not the eating chicken rank. Students are mean to each other cause they have no time to have relationships, they need the brighter students to do poorly so they can one more wrong and make it into the next highest tier. They are stuck with their classmates for life having to meet for weddings, reunions and funerals. If tier one isn’t getting married they won’t. If someone in a lower tier bought an apartment you are depressed cause you have not bought one yet. Just like the score is dependent on others your life is dependent on how well or poorly others are doing. Employers tend to bully. We have all hear about nutgate and her sister or mom with the water in the face. About the 10 year old newspaper grandkid threatening the elderly driver. The boss that makes the underling drink, or do their errands. The elderly person scolding some random person on the street. The bullying continues for life. A major overhaul is in order.

1009.  @rocketman3770  as I understand it they have to have a certain amount of equity in the property to lease it out Jeonse. And you don’t set the Jeonse at 100% the value of the apartment. So say they had 30% of the place in equity even if the housing market fell by 40% they could take out a small loan for the difference in the next renters Jeonse amount. Contracts only last a year or two. They really repay with the next person Jeonse or the fact the market usually increases so will get more in the two year contract with their current tenants renewing their contract. They are really banking in the apartment value going up and up. And it has. And the gov will never let it fall and correct. The worse thing that happens is the renter remains in the place with no further money needed until the landlord comes up with the amount. Landlords only make a small amount by investing those huge amounts short term and many are moving to monthly rental system. But renters don’t like that either. It’s the system set up for irrational exuberance. Think San Fransisco. A small place that was maybe 100K in 1970 is now 2 million or more. Year one the Jeonse is 100K. Year 2. The renters leave and they ask the next set of renters for 125K. They give back 100K to the first renter let the second renter move in and have that extra 25K. They next contract is year 4. The existing renters want to stay and the landlord says give me another 5K the Jeonse for the next two years is 130K. That renter leaves and the landlord sets the next Jeonse as 150K, because the market improved and the 200K house is now worth 300K. The Jeonse is usually not 100% of the value of the property. So say the following year there is a financial crisis and landlords are only getting 100K for Jeonse the place was still worth 200K, they only have to come up with that 50K to give the last renter. They have enough equity for a loan or perhaps they saved up an amount that would allow them cover it. In a few years it will easy living again. They had a property even after the crash worth 200K and they owed the last renter 150K. They could sell it and still have 50K. 1997 was the tough time. And it effected some ages of adults more than others. The pain was unevenly distributed. If you had a job your pay might be cut for a few years but if you were just looking for work those next few years it was 50/50 to get a job. Seniors also had it bad. The company might have retired you early. But it used to be even I remember in the US a savings account in a bank would give 6-%15% interest on money. That was when mortgage rates were at 18%. So in the 80’s and part 90’s a person putting their Jeonse amount in a savings bank could get 10% doing nothing. Maybe more. So they got 10K in interest for the year in a savings account with the money someone gave them (100K) to live in a spare apartment they owned valued at 200K. Not bad. But now money is cheap and returns are low in safe places. It is not sustainable. Now all these numbers are 700K and 1.2 million. Before there was multigenerational living. So parents would save up to marry their kids to live separate in recent history. Maybe they got the apartment before the match made and that property was used to build wealth through this Jeonse scheme. Then when the child married they stopped renewing the contract and the child moved in. But now those fathers and mothers are at retirement age when their kids marry and with the jump in prices it’s really hard on young people cause parents just can’t help out and apartments are too small for multigenerational living, which is not envied anyway. They started the building boom 15 years into the family planning scheme and all were planned for a couple with 1 or 2 kids living apart from IL’s. A few generations ago people worked 5 years earlier. And had more years working. Now a man goes to college, 2-3 years of military, maybe a year abroad or another go at the college exam to get into a better school and then starts working at 26 or 27. If they go to a big company may be forced to retire at 55. All that preparation for only 30 years of work? They married late so their kid is still in high school or college. And they won’t be working until 24 or older. It used to be the oldest son took care of your living. That countered inflation. Now the elders regret spending all their money on their kids.

1074.  @obfuscato1090  the landlord has to have a bit of equity in the property. That is why a property going down almost any percent is bad. Cause the landlord will have to come up with the difference. A person can continue to live there if they are not given the deposit back. But usually the next tenant provides a ridiculous deposit and then the first tenant gets their deposit back that way. Or the landlord will say to the tenant I’ll continue to keep the 100K for the next year. If you add another 5K you stay in the property another year. That way they don’t have to move, the landlord does not have to return anything. Of course the tenant may see they can get a property for 80K Jeonse and decide to move. Of course if property market goes nuts after a 2 year the tenant may be scrambling to come up with large sums to just stay in the place. It’s no way to live. In theory they are paying a tiny bit off the principal of the Jeonse loan and saving money during the 2 years, interest is far less than renting month to month. The couple may have paid off a few thousand in the Jeonse loan and not have that monthly rent they may have saved another 12K that year so the tenant is often ahead. Just not ahead for the large growths in the market. But the gov will never let the housing market correct itself. The 100K place being 80K when it is time to renew is just crazy imagination. If it doesn’t correct young people delay marriage not being able to buy. The groom’s family often provides the house and the bride’s all the appliances and furniture and household goods. What makes no sense is why people have to live in Seoul so bad. It’s like everyone in NY thinking they need to live in Manhattan. Then they wonder why not enough people marry or have kids? It makes no sense they only qualified for 100K. It seems they are not including him in the earnings. Most men in Korea have 2 years mandatory military and 4 years of college and according to Korean age system they are 26 by the time they are able to get a full time job. Then they have to save up for a down payment on a loan.

1136. The problem is the fertility decline. They are selfish. In the US we do lose some small towns when the factory closes or the mine closes due to new administration but there are dozens of major cities and metropolitan areas to move to. In northeast Asia South Korea, Japan and China even a city of 1 million people like Ulsan South Korea is lacking in medical and education opportunities from the perspective of the public. It’s Seoul and only Seoul. Japan went from poor to one of the largest economies (you are welcome) in a short amount of time due to allies propping them up. Japan could not handle the pull back. Pull back is healthy and a blessing to young people just getting into the market. A lot of that cultural issues. When it happens in the US a person can relearn a new job and start work any month of the year with a boss younger than him. In Japan that is not the case. If you are a manager and 35 there is no way on earth you will find a new job in management if the company goes under. You can’t be a new hire with someone younger than you having seniority in your team. It’s why childcare breaks hard. You might be able to move to another office in the same company, another department, but not another employer. Then you are stuck with low wage jobs no one wants or going into business yourself which may not be a strength. Maybe it’s cause we have military leaving around age 40 and entering the job market for the first time? Maybe it’s cause we don’t have the hierarchy, if the elder says the crow is white, it’s white.. Japan crying about the economy when they are still in the top on all the country lists when it comes to the economy. It does not realize it’s not emerging anymore. Irrational growth isn’t positive. It’s not healthy. Given the age of the population and the inability to change jobs or go back after a break and the age thing Japan would be thrusting over 20% of the country’s adult population into poverty.

1142.  @mnilsson2704  with a textbook all students must rewrite the same problems even though 4 are ready for adding two digits numbers. The teacher must grade them all or rely on the students to grade their partners sheet correctly after they complete 100 problems on the paper. With a computer program the teacher picks the math function for an individual student to practice, they enter in the answer, if the answer if correct they get immediate feedback, if wrong they get immediate feedback and usually an explanation as to why they got the wrong answer right there on the screen. No more students reinforcing the wrong answer that 7x 6 is 40. It is 42 and the program will tell you right away you are wrong and show you on the screen some graphic to explain why. The old way a student would get that problem wrong 3 times in the same sheet of paper. Even in the good old days of paper textbooks you had a teacher with chalk showing you on the blackboard and students taking turns at the black board. There is none of that in remote learning without a computer. My sons teacher has a camera and can write the problem out and he can see her writing it out just as if she were next to his desk showing him on paper how to do the equation he is having trouble with. My son has a library of eBooks though products the school or his reading class purchased since libraries are often off limits or have limited hours and materials since everything has to be quarantined upon return. On some books he can take a quiz at the end, the teacher can put that toward his grade. He is learning to edit videos, make a video game, practice typing, design 3D objects all because he has a device at home and internet connection. They even figured out how to do virtual labs for science class on the devices. He can zoom with his speech therapist. It’s essential.

1144. The lunchroom did not change they just got around it by getting companies to send smaller bags of chips. It was the classrooms that suddenly changed. He was shamed over a cookie once. Every day I’d send half a sandwich ham dry no Mayo on whole wheat and a snack size baggie of grapes and another snack size bag of apple slices. I always sent water. On Friday I threw in a single cookie and he got told it was a sometimes food. To be fair open house hadn’t happened and she didn’t tell us their policy. I wish she hadn’t said anything until the open house to be fair to me. Therapist at the school constantly rewarded with candy which he liked getting but never ate. He had a really limited food range which is part why I sent lunch. But I will say the classroom always allowed water bottles at the desk if they had a lid. They had a snack time through elementary. At first they just asked no pop or candy be sent in lunches. But since the kids took snack from what was put in the lunch I tried to make sure a banned item like that cookie were not in there. Crackers fine chips not. Some of the things made no sense. But I liked the classroom rule. They were there 7 hours and I can give a cookie when he gets home. He would be limited to eating what I put in the lunch when at school. When they are young it’s really about them having a handful of foods that they won’t refuse that are good for them. And hopefully build on. When I was in first it was a sandwich on white and a cupcake or bag of chips and something to drink milk from school or 6-8 ounce juice box warm. I found the school expected me to send multiple things besides the sandwich and 2 sides since they had my kids eating and drinking all day long. I am glad no pop for sale at school. Half of his drink is water and he still likes milk. I think the water bottle available at all times in school really helped establish the habit as he is now a teen. I really think the constant eating at school and hot meals are a serious problem. Why are they having supper in the middle of the day before their teens? Because some kids don’t have enough at home? All the school portions are bigger than a frozen entree an adult might have at work. Probably less salt. And now schools are offering breakfast. It’s all very social. If a 7 year old needs 1200 calories and they are getting 300 at breakfast and 400 for lunch and getting seconds I can see some having 500 for dinner or 700 in crips in front of tv instead of a meal. Not to mention the drinks.

1191.  @Bunnyroo7  most people in US for instance can be a doctor an hour away from a big city and have a better quality of life than city center at a city center hospital. My husband used to drive to work nearby and managed to find a tech job an hour and half away from a major city and now can work for most any company and is remote. It doesn’t matter what company he worked for. What matters is can he program, what kinds of software he has worked on, basic work skills and having a degree. He went to a state university and not Harvard. Thank God. He delayed employment besides college being in military for a short enlistment but more than Korean mandatory military service terms and that was an asset to his resume. He was not behind because of the service years. I have two degrees. But now stay home. Most in grad school were nearing retirement or changing careers in their 30’s/40’s. I was one of the few getting the degree right after undergrad. Some took a break to raise kids and were getting qualified to do something else. When I was hired at the last job the same day same in the same department starting was someone who took off to have kids many years. I was 28. She was late 40’s. Not a problem. Why is Korea making it so complicated? Worse than the birth rate is the numbers studying abroad. They will work abroad. Students are sent abroad now while minors. It’s not just for college. Japan’s population had been enormous for a place with constant natural disasters, constant military campaigns and constant desire to add to the current border. And the entire male line thing.

1197. In the U.S. housing should take up no more than 28%-35% of income. Often times it is more. Everyone wants to get rich quick and do it all the same way. It’s a risky way to live. The real problem is people get into financial messes they can’t get out of easily and that is why Korea has a high suicide rate. You are not living rent free. You are borrowing money from the bank and paying interest which serves you nothing all to pay the gangster for allowing you to breath in the apartment or room in their territory. In the end you will give the bank with all the years paying interest on a jeonse to when you will pay interest on the mortgage. But the early you start paying interest on a mortgage, the earlier you get into your first home the better off you are. Less interest payment and the property you first buy and live in will increase in value like the next and last properties you live in. No way to earn enough to keep up with inflation. And because people think you need a permanent full time position and a paid for apartment to marry no one is. It’s not because suddenly everyone wants to be a monk. Peer pressure has gaslit them to thinking they don’t deserve what they want. So no one is having babies. Meaning in 20 years when the boomers die there will be no value in real estate. No wait, the government will allow apartments to be torn down for new ones or to make into green space. They want their irrational cut for capital gains and death tax. Cause they won’t let the market correct. Ever. So in 20 years there will be lonely 40 and 50 years olds, unmarried, too late for kids, about to be unemployed by 55 with 25 more years to keep living.

1210. There is a part during the process of becoming a nun, it takes years and several stages, but the hair is cut and it’s very transformative it’s a very physical sign of the change that is happening and that is emotional. It’s the second stage when the novice habit is given and the hair completely covered anyway. It’s meant to be a sacrifice and somewhat practical. It will grow back but not instantly. It’s not a reversible change like a garment. So it’s a can’t really turn back easily moment of the process. Then the hair is kept very short or shaved. If the full habit. It is because it used to be a married woman covered her hair and a nun is married to Jesus. To signify her status as not single. And to avoid vanity. And to protect her from being married off by a male relative running off to the convent and cutting hair you could not really pass for a single woman eligible for marriage if they came to force you into a marriage. In many traditions of Christianity women cover their hair for prayer. Or all the time. Or in certain places. Or only if married. Or only over a certain age. Muslims also have a hair coverings and rules about them. Who knew so many people all over thinks God cares so much about hair? But all three religions are connected so not really surprising. If I covered my hair except for my husband and did everything else would I be considered OTD? Is it when breaking custom or breaking Halacha that makes you OTD? Who’s tradition and halacha do you need to break to be OTD? Is going from Chabad to modern orthodox going OTC? My one grandma had very thin and sporadic hair like Pearl. Could cutting it for 400 years generation after generation effect hair?

1283. The parents of the kids in these schools don’t want it like this. They just don’t say anything so they remain a good family who put their kids in the system that will guarantee them matches. The girls have half day math science English and they are still Jewish, observe a Jewish life, know enough Torah. And their school day shorter some years than the boys. A few generations ago the sages were not boys spending 1 hour a day learning secular subject and 7-9 hours learning Torah and other religious subjects. They likely learned some of the time at home as well with dad. They may have had a few hours for a hobby or skill. If a parent asks for change they will be shunned by the community and likely leave it just so they can be labeled as outside the community and their request for change not sincerely coming from the community. Further the class sizes are larger. That one hour a day is even less helpful. Why are parents spending thousands per kid for that? It’s coming to tens of thousands per year. The other complication is the school schedules for the boys and girls schools don’t line up. Leaving child care more a problem for the women making the money, bearing the kids, raising the kids. There is a circular economy to all this that is not sustainable. The tuitions are well above Catholic schools but in those the teachers are not religious single people anymore but lay people married with a working spouse or single many with kids. Anyone complaining is told it costs a lot to run a school. To cover those with learning fathers, others are charged more. Teachers paid a lot because they have several kids to put through the school, the buildings having to be excellent to make the price tag worth it and some don’t have working spouse. Parents enrolling no matter the cost cause their kids can’t marry decent if they are not in the system. Classrooms overstuffed. And because sect matters so much everyone needs to go to their own subset school instead of walking down the block to the your favorite of the 2 schools within 5 blocks of their house. That means busing, more hassle in the morning and afternoon, more money some of it from taxes. And a ridiculous number of schools to open, manage.. Yet everyone still has to be in walking distance of a shul. But a school can be far away or close just taking a long time to get there because of the traffic of thousands of school kids in vehicles instead of walking to and from school. And in some places like Lakewood parents are not even picking the school. The school is decided for them. Some families send to multiple girl elementary schools just cause some had a place and another didn’t. Israel can manage this a lot more cleanly. Where does the Torah say you have to hand over half your income so someone else can teach your kids to be Jewish? Why does the school decide how long the mom’s wig is? Why is that not between the woman her and her rabbi and you just teach the hair is to be covered and let the shul direct the details? Maybe every shul needs two classrooms and two teachers. One for all boys and one all girls and go back to one room schoolhouse days? It just seems set up to be complicated for the sake of being complicated. Some schools allow internet so those kids parents could get their kids in an online class to supplement but not all allow.

1288. I never watched the connections, spelled differently. I know they took it down but I don’t want to help anyone find it either. I did watch 8 passengers for a time. Not in order of videos. So basically I started with 10 videos. The first was around the time Chad going away or coming back was explained. I really hope someone is looking into that survival wilderness camp too BTW. There are a lot of people in the family so you only get little bits about anything. No red flags. By the time you get to video 20 you sense something is not right. Watch less. Don’t go through the archives as much. Then you get a red flag video like Chad and the bed or COVID/earthquake while they are away. They used to link each others YouTube channels in the family so you would move on to Bonnie, Ellie, etc.. One of her sisters and husbands checked in in the kids during the earthquake COVID start. Shari was 16 and supposedly they had a housekeeper who was all providing childcare but no viewer believed it. They were out of the country with several other blogging family couples. Utah had an earthquake the same time as COVID start when the world got goofy. I know think the kids were better off left alone to fend. OMG. But if you watched a video and then another video another day it would be harder to see the red flags. They were posing as experts on parenting and if anything Mormons do it is preach like experts to anyone who will listen to them and consider themselves people in need of constant refining. No paid clergy so people take turns talking on Sunday. So you will have experts of nothing and an audience of many. How many more kids have been subjected to similar stuff. If he hadn’t escaped no one would know and they were not on YouTube no one would hear about it. How many more kids had their parents take in with this dangerous cult? It’s like an offshoot of LDS. I can’t believe that the littlest were going to church.

1326.  @pigemperor  Australia did not follow America. Being part of the British Empire Australia entered world war 2 in 1939. The U.S. didn’t enter the Second World War until December of 1941 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Britain was only concerned with Germany at that earlier point. Japan defeated Russia in a conflict, became top dog in 1905 and immediately entered Korea, formally annexing within 5 years. The Koreans spent decades being occupied, forced to assimilate to Japan while being victimized for being Korean. Neither the British Empire nor America cared. But America was not involved overseas until the Second World War. Then we tried to stop conflicts at the start for some decades. The North invading the South. Imagine if someone stopped Japan from entering Korea or if someone objected to Germany joining with Austria and walking into Poland. Well the British did enter with Poland entry. Usually America is blamed for being late to every war. World War 1 for instance. It started in 1914. The U.S. did not enter until 1917 when it was almost over. It would have been easier to contain if we didn’t “do nothing” for fear of escalating. It will go on unchecked until too big to contain. Several countries to your north don’t feel things put back properly after the Second World War. There would have been no comfort women, no forced conscripts from Korea for Japan’s use if people didn’t think it silly to intervene and done something in 1905. For Korea the 2nd world war began in 1905. Korea spent a great deal of its past having to be under the thumb of China or Japan. It was not all unicorns and rainbows for them prior.

1345. No he starts out by saying yes it’s less than the secular world. That way he can avoid the issue of how little English math and sciences are covered. He addresses it as outsiders criticizing. Yet he pushes back on the parent with the kids in the system who sued for change. Yet he pushes back on the adult kids of this system describing it as inadequate. Inadequate is different than less than. These are not outsiders. What they did was tell outsiders. And he is trying to say it’s only outsiders cause it’s against jewish law, you can’t bash fellow Jews. Or perhaps he considers them outsiders cause they stirred the pot and no doubt some have been pushed out of the community. Homeschool, private schools need to give attention to similar subjects. Then there is the corporal punishment issue. A person through school in an English speaking country with no ability to speak and read English is a problem. What really worries me is the special need kids. What is boggling to me is Torah and Talmud are life long studies. Why can’t three hours a day in a 5 or more instruction hour school day cover math and English under the age of 17? If they have math and English then they can learn anything else should the need arise within or outside the community when they reach majority. Not everyone is a scholar. Even if they study a lot. Plenty of kids in secular schools have English and math as well as Spanish or French or Chinese. The criticism isn’t lack of music and art or addition of Hebrew and inclusion of Yiddish, it’s the lack of English and math.

1348.  @suspiciouspooh5988  Indiana does have less taxes than Illinois. Still someone should sue. Too much money goes to admin and not enough to each student. They had a year without needed to take anyone to school. Wait. I am Illinois. You probably had school. What a world and time to be alive to figure out if you want busing or you want to have in person classes for a year in the US of all places? Now some students pay for busing and for some students it is free. My son has an IEP so when I did not take him and he could not walk to school it was free. When I was 8 I would have had to walk along a busy street for school. Gram drove us until we were 11/13. I had been walking the three blocks to school without having to go near the busy street all by myself at age 5 with a 10 year old being the crossing guard but my parents pulled me and a lot of other parents pulled their kids cause the city wanted to bus a bunch of us randomly. My mom didn’t drive she wanted us to go to a school she could get to in walking distance for conferences and programs and besides religious school was the plan after they saved some money and could maintain the tuition for both of us. Very few nuns were teaching like when my parents went to parochial school and the prices just skyrocketed. It was the late 70’s, inflation and high mortgage interest. I loved walking 3 blocks away and coming home for lunch and watching tv before going back. It would have taken forever if I got picked up by car. Once the busy street was involved it was the car with gram and bringing a sandwich for lunch.

1373.  @themanwithnoname2816  I bought all three seasons having binged watched 1 and 2 and had to wait agonizing months before season 3 finally ready in US. I did find out. If Ryan ended up in care he would have gone to Tommy when he was released after the drug sentence when he was 8. My favorite of all was the Garrs storyline. The scene when Catherine was trying to save Alison and arrested her for Daryl. Seeing the dent in the car Shax noticed and putting the pieces to the why back together. Knowing she was also raising a child from a disturbing start to life. Gosh I can see why she won best actress. Back to Daryl how on earth is it not Self Defence 3 others coming at you that have hurt you physically before? I don’t know why he was charged with that. Being US a gun in the hands of police would solve a lot of it. It was a little violent with the setting oneself on fire theme throughout the series. We saw more of the assault as well than on typical US programs. Claire raised Ryan. Catherine protected him. I was so glad for Neil. She deserved to have someone care for her besides Catherine. Also the pharmacist storyline great. He was playing doctor with those pills. A thing he had no money to become himself. I would like Ryan’s teacher charged with practicing med without a license having taken her pills away in the first place. Why was the teacher not in prison for grooming his wife while she was a student? How could he be teaching after having done that? I wanted an update on Kevin. Really didn’t care about Viki or Joanna. I mean I was almost sympathetic for the aggressor. You could see the why in the act. I found it odd Alison had a greater chance for employment after release than Claire. Neil and John victims. They should not have worried their jobs. If it happened to a woman it would have been compassionate, knowing they were victims. Divorce obviously for the cheating. Why didn’t we see baby Daisy? Doesn’t Daniel get to see her? Felt bad for Nev we never really saw the relationship he was in with Catherine. Brilliant they all came back together for a third season after Ryan grew up. Gosh, Tommy can play a bad guy. Mike was fun down at the precinct. Aliens! I thought some alien sighting storyline was going to be the key to locking up some organized crime group.

1441. Climate change is like Y2K but with no deadline. It’s a way to be a savior for perceived threat in which they can move money out of people’s hands into others. It’s the substitute religion since God isn't good enough for them anymore. A collective belief and anyone who doesn’t come on board is a threat to be punished. We life on a rock with a hot core with part of the earth covered in land with which we occupy a tiny percent. There is plenty of trees where its too cold to live and abundant plant life in the seas. The hot core is releasing gases continuously to the ocean floor and land surface. Land is rising and falling because it’s floating on plates that rise, fall and move side to side crashing into other plates. Don’t live at sea level and cry climate change if it rains. The people preaching this aren’t doing it by Skype. They are driving, eating out, living in McMansions and flying private jets. People have over 20 years of fertility and they want people to have just one if any? Where in nature do animals abort their babies or cease reproduction? We don’t have an accurate man made map from four hundred years ago but they want to think the absence of a written record of the temperature of the earth in certain places for a few centuries is enough to establish a pattern since the billions of years the earth has existed? Not that Australia was even on that spot on planet 4 billion years ago. Imagine if we used firewood still for fuel in Europe and North America and Buffalo still roamed North America in 1500’s numbers the carbon emission of the herd.

1498. Jews were there first. Judaism comes before Christianity and Islam. Israeli soldier never decapitated infants, never kidnapped little children to take into their territory so other little children can hit them with sticks and torment them and threaten to execute them on video to be broadcast. Like the Germans they keep records of the atrocities they commit. Israeli’s don’t enter another village and set live grandmothers on fire. Islam is fine, many good Muslims around the world. The Jordanian descendants in Gaza are controlled by Hamas who they voted in and corrupted generations. This is evil. Level Gaza. I don’t care if the remaining Jordanians live in tents, relocate to east Jordan or get on a boat and go live their besties in Iran. Bring every brick down. This is not just exchange of bullet or missiles. Christian and Muslims live in Israel proper as well. You can’t say Christians and Muslims live in significant numbers in most Muslim majority nations. To be historically accurate Israel should be larger and take up more of Jordan and Egypt. All cause of forced surrogacy gone bad, if we had a Time Machine and told Abraham to trust God he would have descendants there would be none of this battling over which cousin’s kid’s descendants get it. The mosque in Jerusalem can be dismantled and relocated into east Jordan or converted into a church. Türkiye converted a church. Clearly it’s fine to switch them back and forth. Now no more disagreements over that. There is evil. It’s Hamas. Gaza with a billion Muslims rooting for them could have prospered on the sea. They ended up voting for warlord.  @joecasso2189

1538.  @bradleycharlesworth8745  2 was great. Also my favorite. The Alison house scene with Catherine was brilliant. You really saw her care for the criminal. Trying to save her life, hearing the confession, seeing the damage to the car her partner noticed minutes before and putting the motive into her head. Such a scene. She saw herself as Alison not for losing a child like she said in hospital but raising a child from a circumstance and not knowing how things will turn out. Yet she was already opposite having lost a child, how could anyone do that. That is a lot of conflicting emotion to show the audience all at once. I felt bad for Daryl. Not for those woman. But three men physical harassed him and grabbing a stick to fend them off seemed like Self Defence to me. Course as an American I would have expected bullets in some of these situations. We have tasers too more recently but you have to be awful close and the offender may be carrying or fleeing out of range. Sometimes those also prove fatal. Heart condition for instance. Just like bullets. Also thought Francis Drummond played her role well. I felt bad for John and Neil. If they were female it would have been seen as criminal, marriage might not survive but maybe they would have their jobs, before the murder of course. If they thought TLR could go to Neil or Catherine’s why on earth no eyes on that house? The neighbor called in the window to Catherine. I was impressed how she alerted without using the radio. Never seen such a thing before. What really got me was a 10 minute response time. Seriously? For the house they thought a serial killer on the run would visit? He was not on the run for weeks. Was it a day or two? I wonder if she had a camera on? To capture all that went down? And why did Catherine suddenly show up? I feel a scene missing. I also felt there were scenes in the preview that did not air on the actual program. The entire series was enjoyable. Mike was right what Catherine did was not dissimilar. Ha. His character was great. I was hoping the alien liaison would uncover organized crime behind the suspicious phenomenons happening in the area. Wish they spent a little more time on the other great characters. The show was more than Tommy and Catherine. Did her son ever get to see his daughter Daisy? Did Rob call in the body? I feel a scene missing. Did Ivan marry from prison? Why didn’t Nev ever offer Claire a job. Alison is employable but not Clare who volunteers more than 10 year now and is kind to everyone? Neil and Claire good for each other. Hope they were okay in the end. Florence and Poppy had two grandma’s and a grandpa just like Ryan. Hate they painted Joanna like an addict. All she did was get the pill prescribed to her after her husband threw out. Can they not also charge him with impersonating a doctor? He had to have them in possession to toss can they charge him with possession? Poor Faisal playing doctor could not afford to be one. The daughters lines brief but revealed a lot. All 6 kids played their roles well. Liked the pharmacist more than teacher. Some writing and acting to prefer the murderer to the violent controlling husband. The pharmacist’s kids threatened. Would have liked to see update on Kevin and his wife and kids.

1623. I think it’s a new bonus. We have that in US as well. Signing bonuses to enlist. Or to reenlist. We are lucky and blessed to have a volunteer career military and the options for vets to begin other careers when they finish or retire. Being a veteran who left service honorably is an asset. Because of this no draft in 50 years. ✊ 🪵 🙏🏻 In Russia all men have to serve a year. So most have served or have to go in. And most feel accomplishment over that service. I wish we would give Ukraine money and weapons to actually engage in Russian proper pre 2014 territory instead of pissing away money. It seems someone wants Russia and the west broke. Gee I wonder who? I can name a handful off the top of my head. Russia is 11th economy and it’s not US and them anymore and most everyone else behind. The countries we pulled out of poverty USSR and USA and other’s are now ginormous. Since no love for Russia in EU. Since before they were 3x our population and now are 1/3 size of our population they will force themselves bigger by annexing their neighbors where there are presidents who don’t seem to do anything other then tell them not to. They should have offered 2K to have each child over the first one. I hope China recovers its own historic lands and Russia will be teeny tiny all over again like some centuries ago. 14 countries border Russia and it barely has anyone there and many neighbors have come out of 3rd world status now and a threat. If Russia spreads in cooperation or by force it will have more sea border and less land borders with others. I think Finland safe. Unless can get all the way to Norway. It is seeking warm water, it has enough of the north.

1627.  @CrankyGrandma  it would seem the majority of priests also have been confused. They should go back to speaking about policies and not calling a politician this name or that. Trump was fine with immigration. Foreign nationals being trafficked over the border was the problem. I have not heard abortion is a sin in the pew for decades. For the latest Obama election there was the voter guide which basically had the 5 big topics listed in the heading, each candidate listed and how their public statement on the issue. No comment about the Catholic perspective on the issue. Assuming we all know. That is the current state of the church. It is only a sin if you know it is a sin and do it anyway. Therefore to get everyone into heaven they stopped telling us what is a sin. It’s brilliant and not at the same time. They are courting the nonmember and seeking to relevant in the secular community. They have forgotten the people who used to sit in the pews. BLM/anti cop/anti Trump/COVID/messiah Fauci is the homily. Giving your life for ones friend does not mean having your business go under, not visiting the sick, staying away from grandparents for 15 months and collecting food in boxes cause you can’t work. Giving your life for ones friend means being unconcerned about your self when you are running toward the fire, bullets, ER, battleground. They have thrown those running toward the bullets under the bus. Being pro life today ignored embryonic stem cells, cloning, abortion and contraceptive that causes abortion but wanting foreign nationals bused to the border for orderly processing after traveling through multiple other safe countries. Not increasing the visas for people from this hemisphere so the people who do come are here without worry of deportation and wonder for years when the next amnesty is. Prolife now is about taking a suspect into custody high as a kite or holding a gun/knife in their hand without fatality. Now the laity in the pews are being told you can vote for a politician who is not supportive of Catholic doctrine on a policy level if it will benefit you. Huge. I’d like Biden’s and Pelosi’s bishop to do their job. She has spoken publicly that the church was doing abortion decades ago. Lie. It’s not just voting different than church doctrine she is misrepresenting policy.

1643. Her plea deal was conditional on prison time not being objected to. Her ‘my preference’ talk was not only bull but her way of putting herself back in control of the situation. Cause she is controlling. The start of her speech was same tone, enunciation as in on her YouTube channel family blogging ‘teaching’ and the few clips of connexions that came out. That was expert teacher mode coming out of her mouth. I didn’t believe a single drop of water. I sincerely hope Jodi never sees the light of day except for behind a barb wire fence and Ruby does not leave custody until Eve is an adult. I hope Kevin never has physical custody of any of the kids. I hope the state is mindful to other homes that might have a connexions minder in the house. How many other kids are doing physical labor for connexions people like the girls were often doing that day of the arrest? They taught people to do horrible things to kids. In small increments. Over years. She delighted in throwing out all chads clothing. She beamed when he said on the YouTube clip she was in control of editing that he didn’t have his bed for 7 months. Beamed. Kevin talked into Eve’s ear and filmed a verbal testimony of her being a thief at church meeting and broadcast it. Why are these people dehumanizing their kids. I doubt the kdg kid had such an issue. These people lie. She accepted council from no one. Not even Kevin. So I really don’t believe she paid a person to mentor her. I do think Jodi preyed on them. Kevin worked for a church school and could be blackmailed by imaging a diagnosis or some moral wrongdoing to church code. They had a big audience. They had a lot of minors who could be isolated and tormented for her jollies. Jodi has a couple or a person in front of her and feels in the mood to treat X. So no matter the person actually X is not relevant. She will declare that they have X. If they don’t want to continue she will threaten and follow threat to tell church authorities of a transgression. She got her license suspended for this. Got a guy fired and he lost his family, they lost him in this process. I also wonder if Jodi has the ability to groom anyone in jail/prison. I worry the other inmates. I worry for Chad. I’d like to know just like with Shari he is free from these people.

1650. Someone is doing voodoo math to trick you. Most male Hasidic students of high school yeshivas will learn. No idea who all you are including in the total where the average income is 100K of male students having been through the Hasidic Yeshiva high schools. If the stipend is 80K sign my family up. If you are saying as a family they earn 100K then you are talking about the women working and that is where they have a working knowledge of English and most often university. If you are talking Yeshiva university graduates those enrolled had a secular program in a modern orthodox school. Further if you are talking Yeshivas you are limited to a handful of neighborhoods where people make 6 figures on average. Most parts of the country don’t make 6 figures. Comparing the average of someone in the few communities that have Yeshivas that happens to have a job and including someone outside Chicago and southern Mississippi is an uneven playing field. Cost of living and wages very different in both places. If you are saying NY Yeshiva graduates earn more than public school students in NY it would be closer except for the all the students from abroad going back and forth to their country or territory of origin meaning uneven schooling and not having the language or an abundant enough alternative language community or being unattended minors with all sorts of upheaval to their lives. So how many yeshiva graduates earn under 100K? That was not in your comment. It was written as a way to trick a person reading it. I’m sure you copied it. It’s called spin. 82% earning under 100K, if the 18% is earning high enough it also could average out to 100K a year when taking the entire 100% sample into account.  @sunshine6522

1680.  @louyou6614  Even if the ones going into elective plastic surgery didn’t Korea has way too few doctors per resident compared with other nations and as they have said they work too many hours. And they are still doctors knowing what to do if they see a heart attack or the extreme rare sight of a woman in labor in a taxi cab. If they were protesting work hours and demanding more students in programs that would make sense. Getting the top 1% on the Korean College Entrance Exam no longer impresses me. Those complaining about internships and residency spots and going on about slavery and freedom have lost their freaking minds. It takes 6 years for those added students to get to that point. You are completely missing the hierarchical structure that is Korea and missing out on the power and politics at play behind those forcing the junior doctors to not show up at work. In the 1-9 rank that is the Korean system maybe doctors should be pulled from ranks 2-3 and not just 1. Have you read about Park Geun Hye? The former president, the speechwriter and a few other aids extorted money from businesses and set up foundations and blacklisted 9000 people abusing their power. That we know of. They just got caught thanks to academic fraud which appears to be a worse crime than murder. Who is behind the pressure on the junior doctors? Who is pressuring the senior doctors? Who is threatening to blacklist them from work if they don’t resign, walk off, etc.. ? With the speechwriter it never got farther back than her. Will we ever find out?

1700.  @_ashmason007  the trouble is some of them are ‘connected’. President Park Geun Hye got taken out of office and put into prison all over a scandal involving Choi, the speech writer being suspected of controlling state affairs. The entire thing started over Choi’s daughter and academic dishonesty to get into a school and get a diploma from a high school she barely attended and her horse activities and her mother’s nonprofit funded by many top companies leading the Chairman of Samsung in prison. Then out since this is Korea and the chairman from Samsung is precious, and perhaps back in he is not out of the woods yet. In reality all cause he was pressured. This academic fairness of who goes where and if it was fair how they got in and if they are being honest or lying about the school they attended is probably the worst crime you could commit in the eye of the public. Look up the scandal. It was amazing cause it was so typical Kdrama yet real life. Truth stranger than fiction. Besides SKY any school abroad is golden. The real reason I think English is still on the test even though classes are in Korean. Decades ago they wanted students to study overseas. Because of the baby boom. Because they wanted the prestige of having so many students abroad. The other problem with Korea is they don’t respect many jobs. That is why you see only seniors doing them. Anything dangerous or dirty. Take the women divers, they are most over 50. In the US we are all happy to see the UPS guy. We don’t look down on them. If the UPS driver wanted to change careers they could do so at any age. In Korea taking 3 years off to have 2 kids is a problem for many if you want to go back to work.

1706. Illinois had a preK for all about 20 years ago. That was not preK for all. There are few slots. The commercials and political ads just said preschool for all. So people voting thought that meant their kid would get preschool. People thought that meant they could enroll their kid and get a spot. Not so much. Fortunately/unfortunately my child was developmentally delayed, later diagnosis of autism. He got a spot in the special ed class. So they had spots for special needs. The other kids that got a spot are kids whose parents don’t speak English/practically kids who spoke Spanish at home. The other kids that got a spot are those with other at risk situations like young parent, divorce, non traditional families, economics. Now my kid born in China and lived there his first year in a social welfare institute. Made the school forms interesting to fill out. It was clear his language and country start and ethnicity being a minority would not be a factor in getting a spot in filling out the forms. We spoke English at home, married, made 150% of the poverty level or more (would not have been able to adopt him or have him immigrate if we did not meet this level). Even if there was trouble shifting to English from mandarin he would just have had a day with both English and Spanish. We did not know if he would be considered ‘delayed’ enough to get a spot so we were looking at all the ways he might qualify. He aged out of Early Intervention. The special need classes very small of course. The typically sized classes were the Spanish and the at risk classes. It did not seem fair to me that Spanish speaking parent got almost half the spots for their kids, as it’s not available to all. The bilingual programs 1-12th never bothered me. Cause school is mandatory for those grades and everyone gets a spot. A fair few would rather private preschool anyway, perhaps faith based or attached to a daycare center. At the time I thought half came without papers in hand before travel. Learned a few years later it’s more like 75% without papers prior to travel. Having gone through immigration process, didn’t sit right with me.

1738. People are not having kids. It costs too much and is inconvenient. There is a virus. Everyone is masking up. They spent two decades working adults to death, relocating most adults to the larger cities particularly the Seoul metropolitan area. They encourage neighbors to go and get sterilized together for the good of the country. Promised military exemption for families with only one son, though that didn’t last long. They gave preference to housing lottery if you stopped at 1 or 2. In programming they showed success for families that were small and difficulty and worry with large families. It worked. In 1980 it was 2 kids per woman. Only they didn’t stop. They were emerging. Irrational exuberance was not slowing down. Now the country is developed and those gains ridiculous. We have elders that had one child. Outlived them and can’t afford noodles collecting boxes on the street. There are elders who never married cause the gender imbalance. When 1 makes you rich and 2 make you poor and the first is a boy you don’t keep going. The age of death went from 60 to 80. It’s the only reason the crisis didn’t happen in 2000. There is no reason people have to work more than 8 hours a day with youth unemployment, people not wanting to leave at 55 and people wanting to get back in workforce or change companies. In Korea everyone does what everyone else is doing. If your boss has one you have one. If your classmate from high school send their 10 year to English camp for the summer you do it to. All these updates are telling people no one is having kids, stay the course. No one cares about real estate cause no one has kids that would need a place. They will get their own one day. So prices can irrationally climb. 40% increase in 5 years success. .2% decline in a quarter failure. And short term changes matter because of Jeonse. Parents may move for school a few times for the kids. When the gov relocated gov workers to New Sejong most spouses stayed in Seoul with the kids. Although that area now has a better birth rate than most the country. I think it’s cause many workers have family in Seoul they naturally. Don’t expect much outside of work. This mean all employees get to go home and don’t have to drink all night with their divorced boss who is lonely. If you spend time and home you enjoy life. Your kids may remember family life at 30 and have a kid or two themselves. Those 30 now never saw their parents. They were working or the child in hagwon or mandatory study at school or study rooms to all hours of the night. Why would they want a family? What is that? These people will have no career at 50 or 55. What are they going to do for 25 years?

1880. I am not Muslim but I would not want to attend the school. They moved a high school into an office building. There are many reasons it just does not work. It just encourages being anal over not having a pen for class. No proper place for gym class. They wear their gym clothes all day cause no place to change. The hallways are narrow like an office building and the place is 7 stories. From a safety standpoint it’s a nightmare. It’s only about test scores people want to go there. It’s weird being upset there is not a prayer room going into it you knew there was not a prayer room. To be fair since it’s not a local typical school it’s a business. All about getting the enrollment so they have the money per pupil to run properly. Because of that they are going to do things a bit different. The building is more suited for A levels or college in their system it’s the two years before university. I would not want my 12 year old attending. Once these kids get out of the school a fair few are going to really go wild to finally have agency and not be so micromanaged. There is a difference between obedience to having self regulation. You don’t guarantee self regulation in later years by controlling in earlier ones. If she had a proper facility there would be no excuse not have the prayer space indoors and would probably be fine with it cause students could leave for 5 minutes and come back with no one really distracted by it all. But the students have a choice of schools. They should have parents that chose the school with the space for prayer. Maybe the parents rather the kids postpone the prayer until home so they can oversea it? In addition to floor space there is the washing up ahead of time.

1988.  @exhausted12  it’s maddening. A rich person has a person without property to take out a loan they can use the money to invest in exchange for them living a spare property of theirs for a few years. The problem is they could double the Jeonse and the person unable to get a loan large enough to remain in their current place, have to find another place which will probably have similar Jeonse amounts and have to pay to move and set up house perhaps needing different size furniture for some of the room or more cost in transportation to work. Why can’t the rich person just own the property they live in an invest their own cash instead of the cash of others? It’s why the gov won’t stand for a property market correction. Those dips are needed and beneficial in other parts of the world cause it allows young people the chance to get on the property ladder, the stability to live in a place 5 year or more without worrying about the prices month to month. It’s just too hard. Young people typically have incomes that grow. If they buy the mortgage will remain the same for the life of the loan. And their ability to expand other areas of the budget will increase. They will have to worry about paying off 350K home with a down of 150K. Had they waited they would have to worry about getting 240K for the down and loan for 560K in as little as 4 years? Will they have the proper income to debt ratio on an apartment of that price? It’s the difference between buying the apartment for 500K now and 800K just a few years later.

2057.  @kiak2971  I forgive her for the DUI. I also don’t want collective hate on a commenter or YouTube creator, which is what is happening. Cause for them without a 700M KRW debt maybe more debt it would be hate if they end it all. I’m saying the agency covered the compensation. Then proceeded to fire her from current projects, didn’t put in future projects and then cancelled her contract. They were asking for their money and she was part time at a cafe with a debt the size of a mortgage. I don’t know if the agency placed further penalty on her for getting into a scandal while under contract. She could be on the hook for family debt as well. Maybe her parents on the hook for her debt and that is why suing trying to get a pound of flesh off the death. Will the agency go after her parents for the rest of money owed to them? Given the debt and no note that seems the reason for the suicide. Media can’t blame the former agency. Law suits. So they go after a random guy calling them a bully encouraging others to bully and demand punishment. We are losing focus on the real problem here. They said she had a promising acting job but fell through due to health. Maybe there was a health issue they are not disclosing because of the netizen law suits? She is a public figure. Getting excessive praise or criticism is part of the job. It’s why they get paid so much. You don’t have to watch the video or read the comments section. The agencies fill the comments section with praise as well to counter. Have means to scrub the internet as well.

2119. It’s science. It is math. You also notice childlessness is more common in recent decades. You have noticed birth rate down globally. That isn’t by accident. A woman that had earlier live births in her 20’s surely can have good conception and live birth rates in her 30’s. But never having a child and trying to get pregnant at 32 is going to take longer and you will see a greater risk of miscarriage. If you are 35 at delivery you are considered a geriatric pregnancy. So that is conceiving a few months after your 34th birthday. And that is just the woman. Men are capable at older ages but their product quality diminishes as well. Which means more miscarriages. Women are menstruating earlier due to better nutrition. That means the egg supply and quality show decline at earlier ages too.the best ages to conceive and deliver is 20-28. A woman is fertile theoretically between 10-40. Hospitals will treat it like it’s possible until 50 but extremely rare. Just like there is age where too young can be a problem there is age where too old can be a problem. At 40 each month attempt assuming the man has no issues and at 40 something a man surely has issues it’s about 5% chance each month of conceiving. And then there is the pregnancy where anything can happen. With a 30 year fertility span and 10 month gestation why on earth would humans think they are meant to have only 1 or none? If any other mammal in the world had 1 pregnancy with a 30 year fertility timeline we would think they would be on the brink of extinction and get a baby program in zoos asap. Given age of consent, education, product quality decline and replacement rates of the population 2-4 should be the norm. 20% of couples have trouble conceiving and need a doctor and many still won’t see a birth. Then there are those who will chose to stay single. So for the couples that do have kids some need to have more than 2 to make up for those who don’t. Marry at 30, wait a year to try and then it takes 6 months for those two lines to show up. Diminished fertility during short period of breastfeeding. A second is just unlikely for most whether they want to or not. Korea purposefully pushed 80% of students to go to college. Prolonging marriage 4 years. Along with 3 years, then 2 of mandatory military service. They don’t make marriage and babies compatible to college life like they do at BYU. They didn’t have college necessary jobs for that number of students. Many left the country. Or ended up opening a chicken restaurant. They used to retire people at very young ages to make room for the next line of graduates. Delayed marriage altered the birth rate from 6-4-0.7. It was at 2 forty years ago. But they kept on with the family planning pressures for another 2 decades. Written into every show. You tell three generations babies are expensive and will ruin your quality of life it’s patriotic to get sterilized you can’t turn that around suddenly.  @belleswithlove9778

2123.  @Graciadarling100 “ practically normal to have a kid at 40.” It’s 20% every month. This does not mean in 5 months conception will be achieved. The odds begin fresh each month. It snowballs from 30 to 40. A woman marries some months after her 31st birthday, then waits her turn cause the office is taking turns getting pregnant. Or waits a year or two to settle into married life. Too many can’t be on leave at the same time heaven forbid they hire a sub. She is pressured to quit. Or fired at the first sign of family conflicting with the workday. There is no check on egg supply at the annual physical. A woman would not know she has a bad egg supply or some other fertility issue or the man has a fertility issue until they spend 6-12 months trying to get pregnancy through unprotected sex. You can’t tell. 400,000 30 year old men and women they have an entire decade to marry and get pregnant without it being a lie. For those that get a live birth at end of it they got lucky. If you get pregnant at age 34 and 2 months you will be considered geriatric for pity sakes. So don’t put off. There is a difference between possible and probable. It is possible to start a family at 36 and get 2 kids but it is not probable. 40 years is a lot time to live in regret. A fair few childless couples at 40 tried at 32/34 and had a loss or never got a conception and they don’t go around telling everyone. But you do not have to look at what happened to your neighbors cousin to know for certain. As if the success of the neighbors cousin is a reason to feel assured marriage at 32 and pregnancy at 35 is a plausible plan. There is scientific data on this. Encouraging to those with a late start to family but not a reason to put it off so long. What mammal waits 20-30 years after the start of menstruation to reproduce. When young the rest of the body not ready for labor and deliver. When older the eggs are too old to be viable. Somewhere in the middle is best years. If Korea is going along with this perhaps there should be a female retirement age at 38 if she manages to get pregnant. 16 years of work after college. Then retirement. Then raising kids. What 40 year old woman and 44 year old man wants to pick up and drop off a toddler at day care doing a full days work? These people throwing themselves into work won’t have a job at 50 with the population implosion.

The people not getting the shot are the ones already recovered (why healthcare staff are getting fired or quitting as they already have immunity), African American’s who I don’t blame for wanting to be last look up Tuskegee experiment to find out why there is no trust with the medical community or government and the people who can’t get the shot. When you arrange an appointment for the shot they ask you a load of questions. I just got them for the booster appt. Have you ever had a reaction, issue with blood clots, the list went on. 100% is not realistic. And finally the US has officially said no more Johnson and Johnson a few days ago cause of the blood clots to the two others instead. Most other countries suspended J&J last spring over the blood clots. Over 90% of seniors got the shot. The ICU isn’t at 2% it’s the regular medical beds, the backlog of people needing elective stuff that is the trouble. Of course firing the science people working at the hospital not helping. Meantime millions of actual vulnerable people want the shot and can’t get it in second and third world countries where their leaders squander it all and let the people die for not securing and buying the doses and getting people vaccinated. England is really good and training people and getting people to work why haven’t the student’s in programs and staff numbers increased two years in?

2146.  @FriedaVizelBrooklyn  if they had less kids they would have assistance over a shorter period of time. A baby is a blessing. The schools insist on too big a bit out of the family budget, excessive amounts from those who manage to do well with a business. All they have offer those paying is the satisfaction and approval of those receiving the money. They are not getting their money’s worth. It almost seems like MLM. Instead of the pyramid scheme where you get people to sell the stuff and they get people to sell the stuff and you get a cut they have done this with reproduction. You send your 3 boys to that school and your 2 girls to that other school. They send their 10 boys and 15 daughters to that school, they send their 20 girls and 30 boys… Has anyone really looked at the money? Why is it homeschooling hasn’t taken off? There should not be an excessive cost to being Jewish or being anything else in particular. Have to live in a certain area, have to be in walking distance to shul, have to buy more expensive food, have to live below a certain floor to observe Shabbat and have to send to certain schools, have to live in walking distance to grocery store cause your sect doesn’t allow women to drive, have to wear a shorter wig cause the school that accepted your child doesn’t allow a long one. It is a wonder more don’t leave. It should not cost twice as much with half the earning potential to live this way. All these things on the surface are picky and nothing to do with character or God. It does sound beautiful and a lovely bubble if you fit in.

2152.  @suenesnidal2600  It applies to those living in social housing. If you have what is considered a bigger house than you need, cause for example kids moved out, to encourage people to downsize to a smaller council home so they could get people off the wait lists who are overcrowded they made up something called the bedroom tax. There are all sorts of rules as to how many rooms in a property a person needs. Age, genders of kids, disabilities, careers, loss of a child through death does not subject you to the bedroom tax thank goodness. A child 8 can share a room with different gendered sibling of 6. Once 10 or 12 they are entitled to their own room unless both the same gender and then an older age can have their own room. Not that there is the supply for it. You put yourself on a housing list for the change but it could take years or never happen. But what does matter is when rooms are empty. The property the Prince lives is owned by the crown. In a sense he is just being moved to a property he can afford to keep up: smaller staff, heat, etc… his kids moved out. Just like someone swapping their council home for another. Frogmore is technically too big as well for the common person in England in council properties. A 10 bedroom converted to 4 bedroom. The other thing is it’s hard to get evicted from council homes. Once you have one it’s guaranteed for most. Just like the crown properties will find room for Andrew and his ex. If the regular working folk in council homes have to downgrade the size of their council properties why can’t the prince downgrade the size of his home within the real estate holdings of the crown? Entitlement. Do an internet search with the words UK bedroom tax. I got wordy. Say you have a 3 bedroom home and your one child moves out leaving a room empty. You make 20K. You can’t afford rent or to buy your own home and you qualified for a council home a decade ago and living well there. When you moved in you have 2 kids. Say you pay £100 a week to rent the property. You have one extra room now so will be taxed £16 a week. 17% are in social housing it used to be over 30% in 1980 and 50% before that. Most just pay it cause there is no property to move into that has the magic number of rooms. And it’s the poor that pay it.

2157. The update showed the girls grew up well and mom doing well and they did not get moved for 3 more years. Good gosh. The older 4 were either older than their mum when she had her first with not kids or had a kid in their 20’s. Older ones working. No sign of mold in a house they lived 8 years. It was not housekeeping the home itself was a problem which is why the entire estate condemned. What I don’t understand is was there no charity in the year 2000? I would think they would be eligible for a box of food regular and some of the kids able to get toy donations. The Salvation Army exists there. Might have started there actually. They could have plugged some orgs that fill in the gap with these situations. The producers failed. They show all that junk in the yard but it costs to pitch it. Do you eat breakfast that week or do you haul away stuff? I do not understand the parents being concerned with overcrowding. It’s not just room number but size and anything without mold and NOT away from amenities like the empty estate would have been great. They waited three more years. I hope they moved out of there quicker before finally settling in the larger place. Maybe they were stretching until the oldest girls were eligible for another room due to age. They got an interesting formula. They had a lot of stuff. But there was no streaming back then and computers and tv’s huge. A little imagination would have the girls all in the living room where the mold wasn’t so obvious. No table and chairs was hard to see.

2190. This really goes generations back. ‘We don’t need no education. We don’t need no thought control. Teachers leave them kids alone.’ Now hitting obviously is wrong. But the general notion of challenging authority has worked its way into society for a few generations now. You can protest and rally without rules like standing in the road and dumping out milk on the floor of the store and throw cans of paint on paintings owned by someone on display in a museum for all to appreciate. This has really extended similar behavior to other areas like school. But this school is a nightmare for special needs. You can’t bring food from home. Food issues are significant. What about food allergies? They only need to walk single file if they are marching out to war, is that really necessary? Is teaching them to follow some arbitrary whim of a person set above them really going to help them in life. They turned an office building into an older kids school. I do not think it’s appropriate. An office building can have fitness rooms. Exercise machines, yoga classes, etc.. Perhaps just overcrowded? But then won’t pay to run the place if they set aside rooms for PE and prayer. I would not want my kid on the 7th floor, what if there was a fire or security incident? It might make a fine 6th form or college. Again needing appropriate space inside for fitness, food choice and less sadism. Let’s face it the pescatarianism is so Muslim students are welcome. There are meat issues if not sourced correctly. Or cause the head teacher is pescatarian and trying to make everyone that way. But they are now in court cause there is no prayer room. If you overly micromanage the kids once free will not know how to decide anything or choose the opposite of what has been taught.  @cmmndrblu

2306. I’m conservative in a blue state. Geographically red like most the country but Chicago is all that matters. It did go Reagan in 1980 like most the country. Democrat since. And mostly before. The city will always be democrat for its leadership. I’d like the wall. There seem to be more wanting to come here from this hemisphere. Just issue more visas prior to travel and build the wall and deport people who should not be here. Reduce the visas given to those on the other side of the pond if necessary to increase from this hemisphere. I mean France isn’t seeing and influx of Guatemalan's. Clearly this side of the pond is on US and Canada. No one goes further north. Not chain migration there. It’s theft. But let’s face the facts. As a sanctuary city Chicago and the surrounding areas are already the eventual destination of the people crossing the border. Same with NYC. Other cities in NY going to be seeing large number of unexpected/illegal foreign nationals residing in those places. The used COVID money for this. They will reroute other money as they want. If not giving money to other countries the U.S. is great at giving money for foreign use within the U.S. as well. This is not new all the people crossing didn’t need the buses they would all eventually make the trek up here on their own. It’s not okay and racist to transport a person inside the U.S. to another part of the U.S. but it is okay to transport a person from Venezuela to the southern border? We are living in the twilight zone. Someone wants the west cold, broke and in chaos.

2330. They only recently stopped letting teachers beat kids, 2011. They just outlawed parents from doing so in the last year or two. If you watch Korean dramas more realistically read English language Korean news you will know employers beat and threaten their underlings. Insist them drink themselves into a state. It is not a work friendly place at all. There was something in the news about the 10 year old granddaughter of a newspaper family conglomerate caught on audio threatening the driver to have him fired for asking her to sit down in the car with a seatbelt on. Oddly enough you will also see character’s rush to the first aid kit or pharmacy for a skinned knee or paper cut and a rush to hospital at the first sign of fever for a shot. But people will hide cancer treatment and down pills secretly. Quirky place. Beat kids with a stick is okay a skinned knee needs ointment and a bandage immediately or will scar and alter life forever. Teachers are rightly afraid of the parents of some students. Their brother may lose their job or their father. There are limited private school options unless the student was abroad a long time or has a foreign parent they can got to international schools for big bucks. They reason the kids don’t have the language and either had that curriculum or similar or will finish with that curriculum or similar so they are allowed the 20K plus tuition. Ironic isn’t it. Korean parents didn’t want the afghan refugee children to attend regular school. They started late in the year and are ‘segregated’ getting culture classes. I sure hope they read up on US and Canadian culture experiments of Indigenous kids so they don’t repeat. The parents worked for Korean companies in Afghanistan. They know something already.. They can hire a translator, perhaps some of these parents were the translators there? It is xenophobic. Just confused cause no white people involved. It will take 20-30 years to sort out. A bully will invent another reason. All reasons for bullying are invented anyway.

2338. Try being single mother in Japan because of never being married or divorce… People hire others to pose as fathers and husbands. In Christianity the body is a temple. You can’t start hacking away at bits of it. XX chromosome means you are female. XY chromosome means you are male. The Bible says not to do homosexual acts. Christian countries don’t stone as prescribed for the incident. Another faith based country does and it’s not Israel either. Just saying. Israel has Pride parades. Gaza you will be executed. Look at the U.S. government travel pages for the different countries and see the cautions for women travelers, faith based travelers and LGBT travelers. You will be amazed the bashing of the west for being inhospitable to the rainbow flag and the embracing of countries and their people where they remove rainbow merchandise for kids from stores and execute for such acts. In the west you will not be hassled or arrested and imprisoned for being male holding a hand of male in public and kissing. Other countries you will. If you look at non Christian Shinto/Buddhist government of Japan they don’t have same sex marriage yet. Same sex encounters only legal as of a year ago in Japan. It will come with time. And it’s western influence that has brought them to this point. Just cause it’s in their content for media for a time does not mean people are excited about it. 66% in U.S. identify as Christian and many who are not spent part of life Christian. You can do the acts legally in most US states from the 60’s, you can legally secular marry in U.S. Why are you all excited Japan is so friendly to it when they are not. Especially in comparison to the U.S.?

2376. People wait several years for council flats, then outgrow them and wait for years to get another not so overcrowded now they can technically get another bedroom cause a child ages. By the time they get it they are in it a few years before the kids leave and are taxed for having too large a place. It used to be 50% were in council rent. Now it’s 17%. They blame people being able to buy. But those folks that bought would need council flat if they didn’t buy. I am asking if there is money to house so many unexpected arrivals in hotel and barrack, then in flats or perhaps houses why isn’t it instead spent on more council properties for generational Brits of all races and religions so they are not living in bed and breakfast beyond the appropriate number of weeks. Make it make sense? They are damaging the economies of holiday towns when the hotel rooms are filled with unexpected arrivals. And the answer is to shy away from building? Shy away from renovation and redevelopment of old council estates. I do not understand why the media is so biased. They were gentler words for this holding Hamas flags and vandalizing war monuments and for people blocking the road with emergency vehicles with patients inside and stop oil signs. Why? Ignored the toll on the Jewish community. They must be terrified. Their buildings had to have had damage, increased costs for security. The media is intentionally vague. I’m sure it’s just a Christian kid disturbed that did the stabbing. But the press saying born in Wales means nothing. Then born in Wales to immigrants. Then he is a citizen. When? When did they follow through? How long ago? Given his age it’s not automatic. Residency sure, but not citizenship. Why does the media play word games and then acts like the reader is being unreasonable? It’s because they will never say a foreign national who was an unexpected arrival is accused or was arrested for this or that. When people block the road lock them up in less than 10 minutes and the lot of them not a volunteer taking one for the team in the stop oil nonsense and charges if they interrupted emergency vehicle or caused one to detour around it. Arrest the person spray painting the monument. Arrest the person vandalizing a property. Extra charges if mosque, church or synagogue. And the press needs to cut out the rhetoric. They are not being objective. Hamas is a good cause but having a different opinion on immigration, which the boats are not, is a bad cause? And the Brit pays the TV license to be treated that way? Why? They are more just the facts when it comes to conflict abroad.

2499.  @jintermax1073  the obtained a document they were not entitled to obtain. Yes mostly it’s an on your honor type thing. If her parents were in the country under other circumstances the document would have been valid. You can lose your citizenship if obtained through fraud. Which is the case. You will find yourself often signing documents you swear the information to be true and are qualified to obtain the document. They were not qualified to obtain the document. They only bother to remove if you are not stateless which she isn’t. Why does no one care about Bangladesh? Is Bangladesh anti Muslim? Surely you jest? They only would bother if you are threat to national security. Which she is. Further was discovered to have been fraud whilst not even in the country. It’s not like they are expelling her from to the other side of the border. She is thousands of miles away. She would be entitled to citizenship as well through marriage not just through birth to her parent’s country/service. Certainly she was married having all those babies to multiple men. Her parents were in country at the time of her birth subject to another country. They were not ‘unexpected’ illegal immigrants, legal immigrants, UK permanent residents or citizens. It was after her birth they just did not leave after leaving employ that made them subject to Bangladesh. If the overly educated student didn’t run off to join a terror group and remained in country the would not have bothered to strip it she would just be on another path to residence.

2571.  @Der_Dolmetscher  what they can get away with in England they can get away with in Germany. I’m a 50 year old American with a undergrad degree and a graduate degree. When I was at university the only ‘correct’ way to be was liberal. Liberal meant more than just voting democrat. It meant right to privacy and tolerant of different philosophical and political views, meaning embracing the liberal ones. The baby boomers were now the instructors and in some administrative roles. Roe V Wade (abortion) was about a right to privacy after all. Now the liberals are intolerant of conservative political views. Cutting someone off from the banking system is wrong whether it’s cause they are gay or voted for Brexit. Further a few in the the banking system are abusing power. They have no mandate to be this way. Imagine a person in charge deciding to close a women’s account if they show up unveiled? Or if they are married? Or cause they won a position in government and the person deciding who is a person prone to bribery voted the other way. It is intolerable behavior. Further the tax payer funded media was aware of it and decided to defame the victim and support such intolerable policies. Did they do that out of fear of their own accounts being cancelled? Did they see in their power to support persecution of people not thinking their own way? Have the banking system and media themselves been bribed by foreign actors? It’s like the mark of the beast movies. Neither able to buy or sell unless you take the mark. Only a sliver of Christianity believes in all that. Why is the public not angered by the lie of the BBCNEWS in all this and why believe anything from them after this without sincere change and repentance? Why are they making this man and other into liars when it’s they themselves who are lying. An apology is a poor effort they keep doing this over and over again wanting the public to hate certain people and anyone who agrees with that person. We have lost our minds. It’s not just voting for the other guy. There is an attack on everyone who simply voiced support for the person we didn’t vote for getting hate. It’s a form of voter suppression. The west is supposed to be better than this.

2599. In US boomers liberal. It’s why pot is legal among other things. It’s alway about them. If COVID happened when the boomers were in their 20’s the world would have reacted differently. They are the demographic most at risk being older. They didn’t have a bunch of kids and they spaced out when they had them. A boom in births leads to positive economic growth and a contraction in births leads to positive economic growth, but only initially. Then there is pain afterward. My parents could earn college tuition by working part time making minimum wage. My generation could not and I am an X. My son’s generation can’t even pay for fees in minimum wage. Which is double what it was when I was a kid. But higher ed has increased higher than the cost of living for many decades now. My parents didn’t have to pay for car insurance. After COVID we all need internet access, kids could not attend school remotely without it for a year. Those are 2 extra bills. Healthcare like education costs way more than the cost of living over the decades. It is possible to be better off. It is just not possible for as many to be better off. The increase of divorce when there are minor children increased poverty. If two people can’t make ends meet two separate households with twice the bills are not going to fare much better. That puts off retirement investing. Time is the factor for retirement investing. Places that are expensive to live have gone environmentally nuts restricting building and the value of homes yet brought in tons of businesses that need local workers putting too high a demand and cost for housing. It’s really not complicated to build to meet the local demand or restrict business until the housing is in place.

2617.  @mnilsson2704  i am not in South Korea. I am in the US. The federal government pays little for school it is a local matter. The only thing is Ted Kennedy a well known democrat and a republican put together a veto proof bill setting standards for learning goals in all 50 states. No Child Left Behind. Kids must be able to write 1-100 by second grade. Those kinds of things. Bush just signed it. If he hadn’t it would have gone back to both houses and passed without his signature. American’s move, particularly military families and not all of their kids go to a special school on base. Where your child ended up their high schools made all the difference in whether they could keep up cause the work was too challenging and their last school too easy or the curriculum was too easy in the high school and did not prepare for the ASVAB. or the ACT. The federal government also made sure that students with disabilities are provided an education in the 70’s. Also provided girls get a fair shake in school sponsored sports. Those kind of things. You have not been in US for 40 years. You do not know what the republicans have done good or bad. Almost all public school is paid for an allocated with local dollars. Some districts didn’t want no child left behind and decided absolutely no federal dollars in exchange for that and local taxes raised to make up the difference. The school district decides everything. In some places, mainly cities the teacher’s union, decides pretty much everything. The teacher’s union’s are liberal. They send literature to their members election time telling them to vote Democrat and in cities do so more than not. Chicago has been run by democrats for 80 years. If you have trouble with the public school in Chicago a republican has not been near it for a lifetime.

2671. It’s okay to disrespect the former president though? Seriously? Does he think we are stupid? Cause he is playing word games with us. This narrative that Trump is the antichrist, Hitler and Stalin has got to go. It’s why people vote Trump. These democrats would rather the guy in the basement whose administration listened in on the opposition candidate like watergate, even though he was in the basement cause if he were in stage he would need assistance getting off of stage. And that guy would not win had he left the basement. Decades ago they didn’t tell us who to vote for. They said this person met with this leader and talked about that. Or so and so vetoed a bill. The rest of us could figure it out. It was 60/40 negative to positive news first 100 days of an administration. Clinton, Bush this was the way it went. You always want the media more skeptical than positive, but balanced. With Obama it changed dramatically. 59% positive to 41% negative. Clearly they favored the guy and became a PR firm for him for free but still close to 50/50. Trump dramatically the other way. 80% negative and 20% positive. How can media and people who used to be called journalists accept this? And Trump mentioned all the time in comparison to how often Clinton or Bush in their first 100 days. Way more stories about Trump than Bush or Clinton in their first days in office. They covered other things. What were they not telling us all that time? They wonder why the public reject the narrative they push?

2675. Nothing is free. You mean government paid. Where do you think the government gets the money? That is North Korea what you describe. And services are rationed and you are assigned where to live so you don’t realize what services you are not getting from the fatherland. That is Venezuela which was doing awesome until it wasn’t and now tons of people migrating north to another system of government. That was the USSR which feel apart financially. If everything were free in terms of housing, medical, education in South Korea people in South Korea would judge by brands they give their kids, or trips they take or money spent on education. You realize education is already free through high school. They used to charge. You realize healthcare is already national payer system and they already have medical tourism bringing foreigners in cause it is so respected and inexpensive for someone to travel to South Korea and have those tests, or LASIK, or plastic surgery. Every parent spends 20% of their household income on education. Not cause there is tuition. Almost everyone required to go to free public school for 8 hours a day. They pay money on hagwons, after school academies off campus because everyone else does it. This is Korea’s problem. Everything is relative. Even grades are relative. In the U.S. if you get 8/10 correct you get a B or C depending on the scale. In Korea if the lowest score is 8/10 that student gets placed in the lowest rank at school. Because it’s all relative. The top 23% are in the first three rank. The bottom 23% are in the last three ranks and everyone else is in the middle three ranks. You have been told since the 90’s you will be miserable if you don’t go to school abroad or go to a SKY school. Their IVY league. Only 4% go to SKY. Really 96% of the country feels like a failure if they don’t go to a SKY school? It’s all relative. In Korea if you are hired by a large company full time it’s hard to get fired. Not impossible but hard. People used to consider civil service jobs but now that is fading as well. Everyone wants to live in Seoul or as close as possible. It’s like everyone needing to live in Palo Alto in the U.S. it’s mad. It’s because of a person not just being content with having gone to college or the living they are making. They are not content if they are not doing what their peers are doing or more importantly what their peers want. So they will spend most of their money they should be saving for retirement or spending on housing on their kids education cause throwing money and time at it, might get them in the top 3 ranks. If they are they will get into a school in Seoul and their jobs will be better and they will be more respected. It’s a crazy country. All this education and work fever directed by dictators long gone.

2678.  @agirlwithablog3579  clearly proof here academia has been infiltrated. A school and library in a capitalist country versus a school and library in a socialist or communist country are vastly different. Even their funding can not really be compared. As doing Business in a capitalist country compared with a socialist or communist country. They are trying to convince students that they are already 30% socialist communist. Let us take North Korea or China. You need a permit to live in a particular province or city. If you move for work and are migrants within your own country your kids won’t be permitted to enter the school where you are working. Now let’s look at the U.S. a person can move between border with no obstacle and their children can move with them and go to the local school. A North Korean can’t move at all even for work splitting up the family. The child of a worker who has to go elsewhere for work stays with grandparents in the rural village and learning is limited to what that local school can provide. I was a librarian. The library in the community with more business had more taxes coming in and I got a bigger budget to buy kids books and hire programming. And that business had no fear of the government taking it over. Or the employees taking the manager hostage to get more wages and the government not giving a darn about it. Seems to happen in China all the time. In the US the swat team would be called so doesn’t really happen here. Who is paid better the worker in US or the worker in China? In the US the government breaks up monopolies. It doesn’t take over the companies like Venezuela.

2706.  @lilacdoe7945  it is not. Humans have been around for a tiny amount of time and migrating for most of the time for a reason. Pollution is a problem. We are a spinning rock, with a hot core, on top of a crust with moving plates. The pull apart, collide, go under another, rise and fall. We have literally stretched the surface. We do not have contiguous date written down from proper gadgets. Even if we did we were not here all that long. Even if we were here we where Pangea was and where Antarctica was are not the same place. Keeping the sea level the same would destroy the place. There is nothing to suggest anything charted change should be linear. The air and currents and continental and oceanic crusts must continue to move. We are tasked with adapting. The UN climate fund decided to headquarter in Songdo. That is reclaimed land from the sea. Destroying a habitat and building skyscrapers on sea level. Does that follow any common sense with the whole climate change is raising sea waters thing? Someone wants us to be controlled and spend money on and imaginary crisis. We can not reasonably predict “consequences”. We can not even find an accurate map of the entire earth from 500 years ago. But we are supposed to believe the only thing effecting the planet is the temperature and they we know gas readings from centuries ago, billions of years ago? Those following the climate change only are the flat earth people of centuries ago. There has been back and forth about warming and cooling for a good 100 period many alive today still remember the back and forth of it. There is what we THINK we know. Theories. I’m all for recognizing a theory. Just don’t call it more than that.

2869.  @tooki3698  when I lived in the neighborhoods, most the time, almost no one lived downtown. People worked downtown and lived in the neighborhoods. People were just starting to move back into the Loop 5 years before I left. I would still say most people live in the neighborhoods in a 3-5 flat or ranch or two story home with tiny yard. I went to college on the edge of downtown driving through many neighborhoods. I had to go downtown for work on occasion and took the train. But I also fairly often had to go between Hegewisch and Chicago Lawn for meetings or training. Or between Morgan Park and Gage Park. Or Mt Greenwood to Clearing. Car was necessary. Never was in a car to get to the grocery store until I was 13? My mom always walked with us there. Part of the commute time was long was because until my mid 20’s I didn’t drive 294, 290, Dan Ryan.. I did have a fear of the big green signs. It made no sense to go so much out of the way east just to north again. Took me two hours to go from one area of cook county to another for a conference on busy streets. I have never myself driven within downtown. In the summer my husband took the train downtown for work events. He is normally remote and it’s really too far away but still wanted to meet some of them in person. The first day great. Long but great. The second day the train hit a car on the way back. More of a near miss. Everyone fine but the delay was no joke especially for a near miss they were calling it. No injury or damage. My mom went downtown by train walked to another station to get on another train to get to my house. It took half a day if she missed a train, sometimes by just a few minutes and they are so spaced out on weekends. I have been to train stations where they had an officer standing there telling people not to cross because the lights were already flashing. It’s a huge fine, dangerous. I was glad the officer was there. That is rare there was probably a game or something with people not normally using the train for there to be the officer or maybe a recent accident? They used to have announcements that the train was approaching to be fair, not anymore. So people could find the right side to be on and be ready. Those days are gone. The signage is not that great either to which side to be on. Police have a lot to do. Americans don’t know how to leave church, high school, dispatch centers on their own and even need help crossing train tracks. 🤔

2878.  @LauraYoung-b2r  in England you get a loan to go to uni. Then once your salary hits a certain amount any amount higher 4% of the amount higher goes to pay off the loan. According to Facebook for the ones on Facebook and what we saw in the show they mainly did things like care home work and some cosmetic work like piercings. It looks like mom and Nigel were back together. A number of them have kids. I think some have a step brother who seemed to have gone to uni. Nothing wrong with any of those jobs. We learned during COVID who was essential and who was not. Clearly those in a care home got to work. The only problem with this family was they had mold and it was taking several years to get into a home that didn’t have mold and was the size allowable since of the kids grew up and addiction kids added to the household it changed the size of the place they qualified for. But there were no places of the size they wanted and for some reason lost it when offered to move into a mold free similar size place as they were not going to repair the place since it was on the block for demolition. Only it takes eons to demolish a housing estate. It just wasn’t built properly from the get go and the parents didn’t have the imagination to put all the girls downstairs to sleep. They pay a percentage of income and the council provides a unit. It’s like section 8 only 17% compared to 3% U.S. live in such places. Someone has to drive the bus. And cut hair. It does not look like any of the girls on social media got married. Maybe just didn’t update or cautious about marriage. They do seem to be in relationships. This generation doesn’t seem to want to marry or do it last of all the other life events. Especially if parents split up while they were young.

3020.  @ゔぁゔぁ-x4d  genocide to eradicate a people. Everything about them. It’s not about just killing them. And they killed a great number of them. The exact figures are disputed. Naturally. Japan removed their leaders and system of government and system of justice. They forced all to take Japanese names. Only language used in schools was Japanese. They took their rice. Koreans grew rice and it was sent to Japan. They got to eat barley. They lost their religious practices. All must worship the emperor. Korea was a country that had education already. Korea had an alphabet for pity sakes. Japan has thousands of characters to memorize. Young girls trafficked to be sex slaves for soldiers about the world. Men and women relocated to be laborers or conscripted for Japanese army. Mistreated by Japanese at home and when in Japan. The Koreans stuck in Japan are stateless. Not all could go back. Not enough to go back. No language to speak once there. May have been married to a Japanese or biracial and that was not safe to go back. North was communist not safe to go back. At various points S Korea run by dictators not safe to go back then either. The country was not the empire of Korea they were born into anymore. But you are saying all that okay cause they built some buildings in the southern part of the peninsula? Koreans were not living in tents before that. You know the Nazi’s first took those people to be slave labor. It was only at the end they started killing everyone on purpose just for the sake of it.

3032.  @sheepdog03  you are clearly living in distortion. For years watched these people get off distressing their children. The smile of delight with the bean bag and the twinkling of the eyes. The close up on E crying at the idea mom will decapitate a plushie. Kevin speaking into E ear a confession of thievery to the local ward assuming a testimony meeting, filming it and then uploading it. One public dehumanizing was not enough he had to do it on two platforms all to show off how great they were as parents to weed out such a sin and antisocial activity in a 6 Year old. This supposedly was Jodi’s time. Was it even real she took something? Her mother took stuff all the time. Chad’s clothing. It bothered her hanging in the closet in a basement that had a door on it? Her closet full. He had like 2 shirts for months and the ability to attend a public school. Million dollar house and 2 shirts. Kevin said to police she/they drained the kids accounts. 90% of their income was the channel and the kids made it. Shari’s missing money. It’s a felony the amount. Kevin and Ruby need to make restitution and maybe do prison time. They edited and uploaded themselves what to show people and what not to. Ruby and Jodi and Kevin were the ones demonizing children for pity sakes. May God have mercy on their souls. The court and law enforcement blessed because of her Mormon habit of journaling. She not only documented on video she wrote down dates and what horrible things she did to them as well as what she was thinking and planning. If only all criminals did such things. She and Jodi taught people to be awful to their minor kids. Connexion minders supervising adults and minors in this dangerous cult. I’m concerned more children at risk. More adults made vulnerable. The kids word, the marks, wounds, the shackles found, the trampoline found, the hidden spaces discovered, the history of calls to the house were elevated with that journal. Ruby’s surprise they found A and J on the phone call knowing how she tried to hide them at Pam’s. What narrative do you think has been imagined? This was a money making pyramid scheme with a bit of sadism thrown in for families that she could threaten. She just needed to make up a church transgression and could easily get the husband fired if his job church related. Once they got rid of school and grandma and aunts and older sister and father and older brother they could do the real damage with no one to stop them. The teen girls had to work. Chad was even giving her money at 17 which is another scandal. So they could not be punished in a way people would notice. Just the littles. Kevin thinks he isn’t to blame for the money? Both are to blame for that. Four years ago A and J were younger than R. What happened to them then?

3036.  @joeboos2729  teacher equals workload. My son is partially mainstreamed, mostly in a structured class. The lingo keeps changing. Very pro mainstreaming in primary, the school not really us. For a profession in a state very anti NCLB and very against common core I found it amazing the amount of testing they did on him and how much I had to do as well. I mean we had done a fair amount of testing since early intervention before he was even enrolled in public school and he had diagnosis before kdg. He gets extra considerations when he takes the standardized tests. He does not meet expectations. Except 1st grade math AIMS test he was off the charts in performance! Given the fact most families don’t stay in the same neighborhood or even the same state I am in favor of common core. Kids are missing gaps when they do move. I changed mid year from public to private in the 70’s and boy did I have gaps. They were weeks apart in math. One did phonics while another didn’t. It was the decade of experimentation. Even when I went to college they did their own placement tests outside of transcripts and ACT/SAT scores cause a B in pre-calculus didn’t mean the same thing in a different district let alone state. Trying to normalize what must be learned nationally is a great idea. Ted Kennedy a Democrat and a top republican came up with NCLB. it was passed by a veto proof bipartisan majority, and Bush signed it into law. But all anyone does is hate on Bush for the thing. He was barely president when it came to him, it takes time to get legislation like that written and passed the bulk of the writing of it likely in part predated him. More than enough votes to pass if he had used the pen for a veto. Look at the actual congressional record on the matter. You will think how the teacher’s union tells you. If you are afraid the kid will punch you, you will make the effort to fill out the referral. In another generation teachers will have gone to school with kids needing rocking stools or standing desks, didn’t find pull out services disruptive, and experienced structured kids coming to their mainstream class for rocket math. They will just know a fire drill will mean the student will be off all day and may need a trip to office ahead of the meltdown, not cause they are in trouble but they need time and space to calm down and the classroom environment will just set them up for failure. Future generations of teachers will not find the kids harder to manage because the behavior isn’t surprising but a communication and they will have witnessed in their day ways to manage it. But a school social worker, psychologist and an attempt to balance only a few of the challenging kids in each mainstream room so the teacher can manage it will be key. Preschool needs to be extended beyond the obvious special needs kids and language learners so other students can be identified before kdg. I do think we need to rethink the school calendar. Why are they off for 11 weeks still? It was only to meet the needs of the adults in an agricultural society. Today is very different. Terrible for consistency for the kids needing routine and for retaining skills, even for the mainstream kids. There are 80 days off and he qualifies for 15 days of summer school. Doesn’t see inside of the classroom for 7 weeks in a row. Most the time we did camp instead. We have a great special needs camp. He can do projects, be active, be social and quirky and have a routine. And the transition in and out and pain is worth it cause it’s more than 3 weeks. We know drinking causes problems and cigarettes aren’t good for pregnant women, pot and further acceptance of formerly illegal substances are going to cause the same sorts of problems. This is what we are seeing in large part. I think we need to encourage being a parent at a younger age in people’s 20’s. The parent line for the special needs preschool were almost entirely older parents.

3123. The powers that be don’t have people to have more people. We are fed these lines about overpopulation and climate and poverty. In the countries facing a contraction in population like Japan and South Korea things are way better than they were when people were having 4-6 kids. There is free education throughout childhood. Medical care is the norm and accessible. Everyone owns dozens of pairs of shoes. Food is abundant and more variety of choices year round. We are being played. As to the overpopulation get on an airplane and look out the window. As to the climate we have date from actual instruments written down consistently global for less than 200 years. The planet is 4 billion years old. A billion years ago the land you standing on had an entirely different long/lat reading. Hawaii didn’t exist. The ocean currents different. We are on a hot spinning gaseous rock with moving plates. In nature when the air is stagnant and the water stagnant life can not exist. Our job is not to keep the sea level the same. There are no man made structures more than thousands of years old and not very many. It’s not cause we didn’t figure out how to build anything until recently or grow and raise food until recently. We have always moved to adjust. We don’t know the rate, even if we did it does not make sense for it to be gradual. A rock coming down the mountain speeds up, a volcano can be steady and constant or an urgent explosion. Even a smaller earthquake in one area can trigger an life changing tsunami somewhere else. Someone is convincing everyone they are miserable and will continue to be miserable. Humans are fertile for 30 years. Gestation is 40 weeks. About 16 years it’s ideal to have a baby. 18-34. 16 years. If nature gives 16 years to procreate what other creature on earth would be encouraged or allowed to do so only once? World wide we are barely at replacement 2.4 is the current rate. 2.1 is replacement. The trouble in northeast Asia is people were told to have 1 for patriotic reasons for decades. Exactly what did the country do for them. Korea’s elderly who built the country and risked and sacrificed everything are in an awful state cause they don’t have children to support them and the economy grew irrationally even if they saved half their income there would not be enough to live on. They added 20 years to people’s life span while making mandatory retirement 55 at most big companies. All their money went into their kid. Who they might have outlived. Who learned to take. Who was told to move to the cities and leave them behind. Their entertainers apologize when people find out they are dating. There is no real maternity leave. Staff take turns having a baby. But conception does not happen the first time you try in your 30’s. They are trying to keep schools open as day care 6am- 8pm for working parents. Who works for 12-14 hours..? Hire more people. To get people sterilized they offered apartments. To get people to have kids they offer a 20% discount on utility bills if you have 3 kids and preferential placement in state kdg. They are not really trying. They want apartments to be all over a million dollars. They doubled in a 5 year span and never permit corrections. Their capital gains and inheritance tax are quite the money maker for the government.

3163. The 11th largest economy does not have that big an effect on energy or food prices. And certainly not for more than a growing season or a few months to turn back to the energy policy of 2019. Russia is not a western energy source. A few years before COVID the west was generating a great amount of energy and that controlled supply and kept prices down suddenly the East controls supply and in turn price. The new aversion to building and coal, gas and natural gas and nuclear energy by the west is the cause of everything. And who is funding this nonsense? Who wants the west cold and dependent? Blaming ‘rich people’ is a little too easy. Who resists house building. King Charles wanted an eco town and even that got protested. Brexit came too late. The country can’t have adequate housing if they can’t figure out how many units are needed and that is figured by birth rates and controlled immigration. Not anyone from EU managing to get to EU making their way through. Setting aside this many million for Hong Kong immigrants, etc.. You can plan the units, if the people with glue aren’t blocking the road paid by someone to be there or living off mom and dad. These folks could be funneling money and their time to insulating older units for people. But no. If Russia were invited to join the EU they would not be recreating the USSR afraid of China wanting to take back all its ancestral lands currently occupied by Russia. It’s tiny now population and influence. It borders a country no longer emerging and 1 billion strong.

3287.  @wzukr  Even off duty officers raced to the scene. They were standing down cause of confusion over when it’s okay to act. There may have been border security and local cops who have differently chain of commands. That has been confusing when can a policeman take action. I’m not sure we will ever know or believe what happened there. You have to admit given there are arrests of the responding officers even when the suspect if full of illegal narcotics which makes their reposes to police unusual or whether they are holding a knife or gun in their hand for try to run over the cop or someone else with a car. They are hassled all the time. Even with Pelosi the cops said drop the hammer, he didn’t drop it big surprise and hit Mr. Pelosi. Then the cops tackled the guy with the hammer, I would have had them shoot the guy with the hammer before he hit Mr. Pelosi. But luckily I’m not a cop. The man should have a body guard living where he does having as much as he does and unable to drive from time to time. Just saying. The local community is responsible for housing permits and school being built. If most students are not within 1.5 miles of their assigned assigned school it’s on them. Chicago was busing kids to the school I attended. They were trying to bus kids out of the school I was attending. People switched to parochial school they could walk to. Who puts a 7 year old 3 blocks from a school on a bus for 40 minutes? Just cause? If you don’t like the local school fine but if you are happy with the school and it is close why do it? You have less parents able to walk to the school which brings down school safety en route for the walkers and less parental involvement. Let me tell you a few dads working late on the sidewalk in front of the school having been able to walk their kids to school in the morning is safer than a uniformed officer and squad car on the street. Just saying. Mayors are in charge of local police.

3335.  @zefifier  you are quoting news and commenters saying it’s not illegal to strike. You did not look at South Korean law saying anyone can strike. You think the news (many sources) to be lying? The way the reporter wrote it was not quoting an official. The report did not say Moon said it ‘illegal to strike and he will take away licenses’. The lines read “South Korea's medical law allows the government to make such back-to-work orders to doctors when it sees grave risks to public health. Anyone who refuses to follow such orders can be punished with a suspension of his or her license for up to one year, and three years in prison or a roughly $22,500 fine.” You think the AP is making this up and does not fact check? Several news sources from different countries with different slants all writing the exact same thing. So the ones not returning can afford 22K and delay work for a year. Not really surprising. 22K is nothing for most people going down the path to doctor. Which is why a few returned. Further a judge even in the U.S. can order striking workers back to work and confirm it’s illegal. It’s why you hear of blue flu. Law enforcement can’t officially strike in U.S. There would be anarchy. Instead small numbers they take turns calling in sick and don’t walk on a picket line. It would be a violation of public safety laws. You can’t threaten to quit unless something is resolved. These folks said if you do this we will quit. This was not just an unusual amount of people resigning.

3354.  @anonymous-io6zg  Hashem didn’t say in the Torah not to hug your wife on day 10. That is custom some extra stringency placed by human beings just doing the best they can. He said not to have intercourse during and for SOME days after to make sure the cycle stopped, and prohibited sharing some bedding items. Humans are not logs but they are not dogs in heat either. I thought all could learn Torah and that guys alone learned Talmud? And if life happens cause even the best efforts things still sometimes don’t go as intended and a husband passes the potatoes on the wrong day he is ritually impure. There is a manner for him to regain purity as well. If she can be ritualistically impure for 12 days why can’t he for 30 hours after the required time and a Mikva visit? They say women are exempted from the time commandments but all this counting days and checking for discharge seems related to time to me. But Pearl is right about two adults being able to self regulate themselves probably will be successful in marriage and in life. There have been studies. You put a kid alone in a room with a cookie and tell them not to eat it, they will get a second cookie when they come back if they don’t eat it. The kids who don’t eat it usually are better off than the kids who ate the cookie alone in the room. I don’t think that is taught so much as what is already the character of a person. Some are more impulsive. Some people are huggers. And some people can’t stand being hugged. So it won’t really matter to them. If I were to miscarry a baby that was told 40 days before conception it was about to be conceived it would be a loss not just for me but also my husband. Obviously can’t do ‘everything’ for medical reasons nor desire but the same skin contact that made the baby could help one another heal and increase the bond between spouses. Why would my female neighbor be the one I would hug and cry with and not my husband?

3467. Go figure in 1960 South Korean’s had 6 kids. Such a prosperous nation with plenty of shoes, free education through high school, access to medical care, food products available year round from all climates… Oh wait, that is now. The government since 1960 has been pushing birth control and sterilization and did not stop doing so until 2005. Most of which time was under dictatorships. Everyone has to attend college it seems. Men have to do 2-3 years mandatory military since the 50’s. When you pull men out of economic activity for years it’s a problem. Why must everyone live an hour form Seoul? In fact there are several cities with hundreds of thousands, even a few million. Why? Korea does not permit unmarried couples to coparent and later partner with someone else and have kids with that person. So no one is getting married until the woman is 30 or older. You can’t just start having babies at 30 and for the timing to mesh with the work schedule of rotation since maternity leave concept has not hit the nation yet. Fertility declines at 30 and rapidly falls 35. It will take longer and that second one may not happen at all. Only a quarter of pregnancies are women in their 20’s. Further problem is since only a handful of schools matter many will leave the country for college and end up working there never returning to Korea. Korea would benefit from remote work meaning you could work for a company based in Seoul but live in Yongin. I had hoped with COVID this would have caught on. The country used patriotism and perks like housing lottery to get people to stop having kids. They thought two things. At any time the population could be increased by millions if the country became unified. And secondly they turn on the baby making using patriotism. Nope. And their perks are kids cafe’s, reduction in utilities if you have three and preferential treatment for kdg placement if you have 3. There are modest amounts of money handed out for births and when kids. They could never give enough with the cost of housing increasing 50% in 4 years. That is considered success. Housing falling .01% in a month is considered failing economy. The economy is no longer emerging and there must be a pull back in the sector. It’s a developed economy. The government loves capital gains tax and inheritance taxes. It will not allow real estate to fall. The newlyweds moving into two bedroom and three bedroom homes built 30 years ago are using the bonus rooms as closets to store their Prada bags and clothing sterilizer appliance. What an odd place. There is this rank system. The top eats chicken, the middle makes the chicken and the lower delivers the chicken. Too much comparing since its grade on a curve and not about getting 80% of the answers correct. Public entertainers are apologizing for dating. Not even successful people allowed to marry. So how is the lowest and middle rank going to take on a family? They spent 2 generations telling people through policy, media, peer pressure than children are a burden. Send people home at 6pm. Hire mothers who quit to raise kids if there is too much work to send people home at 6. Don’t make them retire at 55. They will spend the next 25 years lonely and with nothing to do.

3473. Why is Europe spending so little? Those countries included are similar population to US. I personally gave to Ukraine charities. But Biden said I do not think he will invade. Was late getting Americans to leave Russia and Ukraine and simply said don’t do it to Putin. He did it anyway. We gave underwhelming weapons and a boatload of cash. For years. Someone wants the west cold and poor. Biden made barrel of oil prices rise and was all for Putin to do pipeline and drill drill drill and the price rose funding Russian invasion of Ukraine. Under Obama/Biden they got Crimea. When Dems in charge they interfere with Ukraine telling them who to fire. They made up Russiagate. Making it difficult to have any sort of relations trying to get them out of Crimea. Dem hail the victim. Russia is the aggressor but verbal praise to the president of Ukraine isn’t to going to stop bullets or repel invasion. Trump was speaking like the Pope. I want ceasefire now. Zelenskyy isn’t ready. Fight then. Get money and arms elsewhere from the morally superior countries who claim Russia a threat yet don’t see to have the enthusiasm in the budget. Too busy spending it on unexpected foreign nationals. It’s not mistake the world is sending millions to the west to support. It’s always US money. It’s always US soldiers. Poland and Germany and France can manage surely. Maybe China can be persuaded to take back its historic lands from Russia. Trump fully able to foreign policy in 2016 might have had both Russia and Ukraine in NATO. Russia is doing this cause population needs to be larger and they need more ports. They need to be part of something bigger so close to India and China. Do not like the U.S. being policeman but sure do like US taxpayer money. I seriously hope people the almost 1 hour exchange and not soundbites.

3541. They will never let housing prices fall in Seoul. If it increases 50% in 4 years it is considered success. If it falls .02% in a month the sky is falling. Older couples do not downsize. Once the people in their 50’s hit 80’s and start to die in 30 years will the price of a family size home fall. But since the place is full of apartments chances are those apartment buildings will be reconstructed and when they are reconstructed they will build smaller units. They will incorporate more green space to keep prices high. The government gets lots of capital gain tax and lots of inheritance tax. They have no incentive. The South Korean government started family planning in 1962. By 1972 they were urging people to stop at 2. They hit replacement level in the 80’s. They did not try to reverse action to increase fertility rate until 2005. The reason was people were living decades longer and the country was still growing. Also dictatorships like control. Also still possibility of reunification with the North at that time. They were operating under the possibility that tens of millions could be added at any time. I also think they felt if they turn off reproduction through patriotism and peer pressure they could turn it on again the same way. On the contrary making everyone go to college and men serve 2-3 years of mandatory military not having switched to a volunteer career military model like the U.S. yet when adults are done with military and college they are mid twenties. It takes some time to get a job and work and meet and marry a partner. You can’t start having children in your 30’s and they come when you want them to. The country has no real concept of maternity leave. So people take turns at work to get pregnant so no one is overburdened. But they may not come quickly at 34 when it is your turn to get pregnant at the office, like they would have come at 32. It starts to decline at 30, rapidly at 35. There is no concept of single parenthood/coparenting between never married partners or having more kids with next partner. You can’t tell people babies are a burden for 60 years and expect that notion to change. Fertility rate in Korea went from 6 in 1960’s to 4 in the 1970’s. They should not have doubled down in the 70’s. But that is when the Limits To Growth nonsense started globally in 72 when they starting urging only 2 kids. I do think it’s wrong to look at todays pattern and determine what will be in 80 years. That is what they did in 1962. Fertility patterns do not remain constant over several generations. There is often a baby boom or contraction that is unexpected. Had hoped during COVID a baby boom. Had hoped COVID would switch people to remote long term meaning they live anywhere not Seoul and work for a big company anyway hoping students would have some family time and perhaps want one when adult. That is the other probably. No childhood in Korea. Then there is the problem of so many students going abroad and then staying abroad for work. When only 3 universities matter people go elsewhere.

3557. After the election. Trump wins both the popular vote which does not matter and the electoral college which does matter. Way more than 270. Some votes not in yet. Decisively no one state hanging Chad nonsense like 2000. I am delighted and pleased and put a sign up the last 10 days in my front yard for the first time in my life having been slightly concerned about vandalism to it all this time.  The democratic sitting president called most Americans garbage for voting for the other party’s candidate. In 2016 he spied on Trump campaign which was the entire watergate incident from the Nixon era on steroids. The sitting president who ran in the primary and won the democratic place in the ballot was not on the ballot. Instead of declaring him with dementia and swearing in Harris to his place as President they just gave her his place on the ballot leaving him President and no real reason why after all that campaigning he was not fine for the election but still fine for running the country. No American voted for her in her own party. And now the mainstream media, who is about to lose any relevance, is doing what a sitting President has done. Calling the public garbage, racist, sexist, etc.. for voting in a way different than how they told us too. Why would people vote the way the elite tells them to when the elite thinks we are garbage? Americans are not forever stuck in a demographic of victim needing rescue by them. We need drilling for energy to bring prices back down or stop climbing. We need the country to stop bleeding money to other countries and foreign nationals inside the country. The protests are disrupting education. There is a legitimate way to hold a sign and stay out of traffic dressing appropriately for the weather. The antisemitism is real and serious and frequent this time. We need Putin to have no green light anymore to newly invade neighbors. He invaded and annexed under Obama Biden, what did the world think was going to happen when Biden/Harris got in. Invade and annex of course. And what do you think he will do under Harris?  She held zero press conferences before the election unless I missed something lasts few days. She may have off hand answered a question from press and did interviews but did not stand at the podium and take questions from actual reporters intentionally who might have challenged her responses and push for more details. She didn’t speak to supporters that night who gathered and really wanted to see her and see she was fine before going home. It took 12 hours and another location? Does she have an optimal time of day she can function like President Biden? Who the heck is running the country? Gas prices in my Democrat majority state down 10 days before the election from $3.50 to $2.97. Not cause of federal supply and trade and energy policy beginning to work but cause they cut the local fuel tax to reduce the price near an election. Like always. They think we are idiots. Trump gets 2 terms. Unless the constitution is amended again the two term limit thing repealed. There were not limits until recently. This would all be over soon if he was sworn in January of 2021. Just saying. But then the press would lose its freaking mind over the next candidate. Someone SPECTRElike has infiltrated the press and academia and the Democratic Party.

3606.  @turnip5359  the C of E seems to be helping asylum seekers by baptizing them so they can claim threat of death if they return. It’s like the Catholic Church. Woke infiltrated the seminary. We are being told about climate change and not Christ, sin or mercy or even why something is a sin. Somewhere along the line churches started being run like businesses and the Pope became more Head of State then religious leader. The decline came in the 20’s. The Second World War hid it. Look to the changes in the 20’s. My grandmother, mother and I all heard different warnings in school. The globe was getting warmer, cooler, warmer. Then by the time my son in school they changed it to the constantly flippable ‘change’. My generation was taught to give a hoot, don’t pollute and only you can prevent forest fires. And to wear hats in Australia cause of the ozone. A weird place to have an ozone problem given almost no one lives there and it’s surrounded by water an another landmass covered with ice and penguin and not inhabited by humans either. My son’s generation thinks it has a duty to make certain there is no change in sea level. Why? It’s been changing the entire time there has been a sea. We are on moving plates. We are insignificant. We are not in control of moving plates, we adapt to them. The Green agenda is the new religion and the C of E can’t stop themselves from pushing the lingo. Does anyone notice the green people never block the terrorist rallies? Same money source. Same figures in the background. The seminaries infiltrated. Someone wants the west in chaos and cold. Depending on eastern energy. To ashamed to produce their own. Depending on parts needed for batteries elsewhere not found in the west. And the press controlled by their media owners who are either part of it or educated by themselves by infiltrated universities. Churches are supposed to be concerned about Christ. Then they are not a church, it’s just another news channel. Who wants to leave the house and watch the news now telling us what they think we should know and telling us how we should feel about it instead of just the facts and as many facts about as many things as possible like generations ago? During COVID watching church, I could switch it off.

3640. This can all be traced to the dictatorships and push for every student to go to college. No natural resources to speak of so they must rely on human capital. But they end up with too many graduates. And when a graduate is working at a job not related to their degree they consider themselves jobless. To get as many as possible going to college they made unsavory every job that does not require a degree. Then Koreans have become accustom to free housing. They save a big down payment while living at home forever. Then they pay an owner full value of half the property in cash which they get back at the end of 2 years. The owner takes the renters lump sum and invests it. It is the weirdest shell game in the world. Because of this the gov will never let home prices fall. The landlord either extracts thousands more to renew the lease or the tenant leaves with the landlord taking the next tenants lump sum to pay back the tenant leaving. If prices drop the housing market will collapse. Besides they like capital gain taxes and death taxes. In typical capitalism it’s a supply and demand and you keep building to keep the prices stable. In a healthy economy there are economic cycles with pull backs. Yes prices can climb in a few years time but they also can drastically pull back in a few years time and may not recover for a while. But we also don’t move every other year. Most are fine. It gives people the chance to get a property when they pull back. Those on the ladder will also increase when prices are up and they can still move into a larger place if necessary cause their current place added value. The real estate market in Korea turns over too much. They can’t see the long term picture. Further they don’t have as favorable loans to those wanting to buy as for those needing those lump sums just to rent. The building they are doing is for single people. The older properties are being used as AIRb&B’s. That is where the newlyweds would have started out, screwing up starter home and long term rental market. Meanwhile the place must not have internet or people could work from their family properties in the provinces in the family for centuries. I jest. Seriously though remote work could save the entire country. People could live anywhere. Not all jobs but surely COVID shows us all people don’t have to go into a building to be productive in all jobs.

3687. Evil men prosper when good men do nothing. Neutrality is not the moral high ground. Israeli children, little children, were kidnapped and taunted and tormented from their homes and are being held hostage and filmed and footage published by their captors. Even Gaza children seen taunting them and hitting them with sticks. I am mostly Irish. Some of my late relatives were born both in Belfast and the southern part of Ireland. Irish Catholic a difficult thing to be for centuries in Ireland. Particularly Belfast. While I would love for England to do what it promised a hundred years ago and fully leave Ireland, the bombings and acts of terror are not acceptable. Free Palestine is a lie. It’s a marketing campaign. It’s infiltration into the media, universities and the Democratic Party. The people in Gaza are Jordanian. They are under occupation of a warlord organization Hamas. Because they are Muslim the billion Muslims have support for them. That is the only reason they have support. There is concern that their artifacts will be destroyed cause in all honesty like we saw in Afghanistan muslims destroy Buddhist statues within the border it is assumed the same would be done. They should dismantle the mosque in Jerusalem and relocate it or convert it to a church like Türkiye converted a church in to a mosque quit recently. Or just use it like they have been. Others were too close to the mosque. Really? That justifies mass murder of hundreds of people listening to music? Ask in Gaza what should happen to a gay person. The answer will shock you. I don’t know why the DNC has embraced a number of squad members. LGBT…. In one Michigan City feel betrayed. They welcomed the immigrants and now the board is mostly Muslim no rainbow flag can fly in the town. Now the US and west has fine relations with many Muslim majority nations. And the west have mosques and synagogues all over the country. And people of all faiths working at all sorts of jobs from science to small business. Really included in society. Gaza does not show the same inclusion. A lone shooter in US murdering 3 making it a mass shooting even draws more outrage from people than what happened Saturday morning in Israel. The death toll is over 900. They have no money but perhaps it’s cause they buy so many missiles? Gaza should be flattened. They can live in tents for all I care after what they did.

3705.  @jeeeywu4585  yes I do get an impression of people easily. Just like you got an impression of the person not present easily. You assume the girl would rebel. You never met a narcissist have you? There would be red flags if dad no where to be seen and one of the sets of grandparents in North America. Not just mom. You make a child even unmarried and you are stuck for life put your big boy or big girl pants on and facilitate an exchange from time to time. There are mediators to assist in the schedule and suggesting the method of doing that. Are there women’s and children shelters in Korea? I have no idea. Each adult will have their own story. The truth usually lies in the middle. He seems like an attention hog. He seems like it is his way or the highway. He seems a little too perfect the entire 20 minutes he is on. He seems too much a perfectionist. He seems to focus a lot on his physical image. It could be editing. It could be the time frame. It could be being in front of so many people that we don’t see the real him. My impression could be wrong. It is still my impression. I doubt either parent is evil. Each may have their reasons. Around 12 a child in North America starts to dictate the primary custody arrangement. There is clearly a much younger child. If no connection to North America I would think once again its winner take all in custody when will Korea adapt. But he at least should know better. In Korea once divorced the couple are strangers. Parental rights of the noncustodial parent something recent and not quite practiced yet there. So many want to be in the kids life but are prevented. They are also recent laws giving step parents authority to speak with the school. While the noncustodial bio parent still can’t. It’s so odd there. Divorce means you most likely will not see both parents until an adult. Or that other side of extended relatives that does not win you. Sometimes it’s a secret when a child is younger, the other parent abroad or far away in Korea for work always working.

3706.  @jeeeywu4585  something is wrong with you. Go look up child custody in South Korea and be sure to fill in a few years ago once this family split. You will be surprised. Look up divorce. You will be surprised. To make it easier for you type in Jo Hoon Hee. She married a costar in 2017. Baby on the way. By 2020 it was reported they divorced and she got custody. You will see this for many celebrity divorces. Almost always under the name of custodial parent it will that person got custody. This particular actress mentioned on a reality show or interview that she lets the ex husband see their daughter. The reason it made such publicity is cause it’s not common for a custodial parent to let the noncustodial parent have access. If you do a simple google search “Korean divorce child custody” you will see joint custody is very unusual. If the couple is really at odds ‘over parenting styles’ or will become geographically separate they are more likely to only give one parent custody. If a parent remarries and has children the original child is likely to be sent to a relative or the other parents or even put in orphanage. Until recently and even almost always a child is placed on the father’s family registry. It’s very patriarchal. The registry has historically been important factor for jobs and such. So having a step sibling on the registry a problem with some companies. Divorce is a problem with some companies. Recent laws try to make family not so important. Why do you care so much how I think of this family? We are all free to think as we like. You certainly do judge mom, not present.

3806. This is how it was a few generations ago. You got married young. You had kids. The eldest surviving son, cause most did not survive, was the breadwinner. His wife would take up the lions share of the work serving her in laws until they died probably before 60. But then that changed in the 60’s. In the 60’s everyone could realistically marry. The servant, the orphan, etc.. But after two wars and occupation the government was getting foreign help to modernize and didn’t want a lot of people. After war is baby boom as well. So they started to tell people to have 2 and raise them well. Banned ultrasound later when that became in common use so they would not abort females. There was a black market for that anyway. You married by 20. Your MIL likely 40. Her MIL may have made it to that celebrated rare birthday of 60 but not likely. So you married, had a son, worked 20 years caring for in-laws only for that favor to be returned by DIL and your son financially supporting the lot of you cause the economy was doubling every five minutes. It’s why if you saved you would never have enough money to buy noodle at 80 all on your own. And there are many elder Korean’s today in poverty because they didn’t have a son, or he died before them. And they put al their money into him. The retirement system is very recent. Elders were not paying into it. But that is why mothers had their daughters make dinner. Their son needed every moment studying so he could go to the best school (which was not free through high school), get the best job and support them when the government made them retire at 55 or they were too old to do the manual job they had. Their daughters would serve their in-laws. So they needed practice. Irrational growth is the problem. There being few elders was the problem. Around the time they got to just have 1 and fertility had gone down to 2 babies, elders were living to 80 instead of 60. That covered the generation that would not replace itself. Not the time is up. It used to be parents in 20’s, grandparents in 40’s and great grandparents in 60’s. But that generation wasn’t around. But now it’s parents at 35, grandparents at 65 and no one living to be great grandparents again. The age of death changing cause in the 80’s you had babies, parents, grandparents and great grandparents alive at the same time. But you see now men and women go to college, are not expected to take care of their In-laws or parents meals, cleaning or bills. They are only having to live for themselves.

3903. So they are living off many millions from his mother’s estate and was miffed he would pay for his own security when he snuck out to the country to Canada leaving his job, country and family. And now daddy is paying for security? WHAT a millennial? Why are they being allowed to lie about titles and security. Where are the reporters fact checking? They would have been quite secure if they stayed in the free home renovated with millions of dollars not theirs. Seems Meghan read Cinderella and not a real book about the British monarchy. You need to be a grandchild of a male descendant of the sovereign. Archie is a great grandchild. Some of her husbands cousins don’t have a title with the same gran. Even some cousins through an uncle doesn’t have title. What makes me most mad is why is Prince and Duchess in the press? They are clearly using the titles. That should stop. Their kids will drop out of school and want to travel and then be shocked when Just Harry doesn’t pay for it right away. How green of them to fly private to a google camp. Not like they have video conference skills there. How green of them to declare his 38 year old wife won’t have more than 1 more child for the environment. How green of them to live in multiple homes on multiple continents. How green of them to live in an 18,000 square foot home for 4 people in a gated American community to get away from racism? How green of them to fly to Canada, Florida, California during a pandemic. Oprah deserves a ton of money for not laughing during this program.

3917. All these articles are reinforcing the idea that you can not and should not afford to have children. People were convinced to have 1-2 for decades for 2 reasons. Patriotism and perceived prosperity. There are hundreds of thousands of poor seniors who are in awful poverty who believed that. Patriotism mattered to people who lived under occupation and survived the dangerous years of the Korean War. Which has not ended. Korea expects their men to spend 2-3 years in military service since 1951. That is years of economic activity out the window. If you have 1-2 kids and were sterilized you were a patriot. You also got priority in housing for newly built apartments. The seniors started living longer. The only reason not a problem to have less babies short term. The younger generation has 20 pairs of shoes, their grandparents 1-3. Their grandparents had siblings. They have spare rooms for clothing storage. Todays youth don’t have memory of occupation or the fighting years of the Korean War. Todays generation will inherit 2 sets of grandparents apartments and their own parents. Everyone being concentrated in one area of the country is the only thing holding up prices. New apartments are not palatial. They are tiny. They built the economy around not having any or maybe 1. The real problem is by the time a person can marry after college, after military and far along in work they are not able to have as many as they want or any at all. You just can’t start in your 30’s. So people who want are aged out.

3965.  @wip1664  I have skin in the game. I am thrilled to parent but I hate the reason why I am able to parent. I have one child, a son born in China. I am parenting because the government of China decides when a person can marry and when a person can have one child and when a person no longer can have children. Maybe mom was an adult but not old enough for officials to marry? Perhaps old enough but it would be outside their quota? Maybe it was a second pregnancy? There are a multiple number of maybe’s. Why did he have to sacrifice his parents and they him? Leave uncle’s gambling debts and consequences to uncle this a parent child separation we are talking about. Because the government controlled and managed resources and asked too much of the population to be able to do so. Obviously nature is not just wanting humans to have one child. About 15 years of a woman’s 20’s and 30’s is pregnancy with a good outcome possible. Why would nature give humans such a long fertile period past education and training age to only have one child? Gestation is 40 weeks and weening takes weeks to maybe a year. Once the child can eat solids it’s really not necessary to keep doing it. Does not make sense to only have 1. A couple could easily have 4 kids with good spacing. If you are going to advocate for many to be childless, and they should be if they want that, others will have to have more than 2 kids. The public won’t believe they have been lied to for 40 years. They will continue to think society and government wants 1 or less babies from them individually.

3973.  @wip1664  raising a child watching preschool tv shows I overheard directly into the program or a PSA commercial between programs to “reduce, reuse, recycle”, climate change, alternative energy, environment or the phrase the planet about 2 times per hour. As he got older it was about 4 times per hour of programming. When covid hit I was next to him for several months and wouldn’t you know it has made its way into every subject. Ironically he also learning in science how the earth’s crust rises and fall. It’s not only dependent on the ice at the poles. But really no attention to how it contradicts. Even his speech therapy assignments included content to read and answer questions about climate change. I went to parochial school and didn’t hear or read the words God or Jesus this much. Saying the word 1000 times a year every year will not make it so. There is a hint of the Great Leap Forward in all this and we know how that turned out. The oldest man made structure in the world is at best 5000 years old. Planet is billions of years old and humans around tens of million years. There were cities that rose and fell often. We did not suddenly figure out tools 5000 years ago. People have relocated often. The earth has always changed. It is not linear but snowball in speed. My husband was born in an island that was existing above water a million years ago. Because of plate movements it will be gone in 50-80 million years. Not because someone drive a gas powered car on it. The earth isn’t our mother. The first human cell did not come from the planet.

3976.  @wip1664  government should be made up of the members of society. People are good. The biggest environmental problem in northeast Asia is the dust trim the desert making the air quality poor in China and and Korea. But you can not control the wind. It is the earth distributing nutrients from one region to another, just like it distributes precipitation from one area to the next. It’s it not people. Areas that were sea bed are not mountains. Areas that were tropical are not in the Antarctic. The news, government and published science is focusing too much on the atmosphere. They have forgotten the other scientific categories. It’s the earth if flat people all over again. We have very little date from proper instruments in the short written history of humans. Let us take Just Harry as an example. He flew on a private plane as well of tons of self important people flying privately to the Mediterranean for a google camp to talk about the environment. He promised to only have one other child with his then 38 year old wife. (Eye roll she is is 38 women are not usually fertile without help in their 40’s if they started having late in life already). Did google ever hear of google meets? It’s a tech company. They could not have saved the plane fuel? Pollution you can see is my concern. Used plastics should be processed or buried without having to go on a boat so they don’t get into the stomach of wildlife. They won’t bag cause of covid anymore but at least there is a drop off of the plastic bags at the stores. I mostly use reusable water bottles. My country but for one town has safe water. The world will not end in 2031 like AOC says. There need to be young workers to care of you when you are 77 or 87. Population should always be a little over replacement.

4008. From the 60’s onward the government and other entities like media said have 2 kids or just have one and raise well or even 1 is too many in our crowded country. I noticed that the English language new always talks about increase in apartment prices. They alway reference Seoul and they almost always just say percentage rise. As if the reader always knows in their head what the exact amount of an apartment in Gangnam was the month before. It would be like the news in US always saying what the price of a townhome in Manhattan percentage increase and uses that as its reference point to the American real estate market. Under the dictators they moved most the population to Seoul. They worked people 8-8 or longer. In 1997 crisis the companies that employed a married couple made one quit. The government made people hand over their gold wedding rings during the IMF crisis. The government has been attacking the family for decades. And people went along with it. The incentives for sterilization significant and patriotic. They got people to openly harass people who violated the trend of small families. The gov figured the peninsula might be whole. The gov thought they could turn it back on again by telling the people it needed to have 2 kids. The people don’t remember the times it was hard to live. They have been told that is matters how you compare to others. Students are graded on a curve in Korea. Everyone could get a 75% or higher on the test. Because of the curve the person getting the 75% gets the lowest rank. Translates to other things as well. Lots of group think. Shows displayed the economic hardship of having too many kids. Shows now explain how child care is impossible. Hw important after declaring love to another it is to go back to work and focus on your career. Flower Boys Next Door the couple even resided in different countries after confessing. The next step was not moving in together. Or planning a wedding to take place two years later. Or even a break up 6 months later since they were not really seeing each other enough to get in a spat. If there is an aftermath where a baby is born it’s at the ridiculous age of 36 or 40. Cause you know you have to save every cent before taxes to afford a home in Seoul for 10-20 years. So you have to work that long before you can marry and still your dream of having a family will come true.

4024.  @wzukr  you forgot suspects shooing at people, trying to stab people, trying to hammer people trying to run over people, trying to shoot police officers. That does not fit the Hollywood narrative so not in movies as much. Do you have wolves, coyote, bears, gators, rattlesnakes? There are many reasons people have weapons here. I thank God don’t have need for one. Not that a gator sighting means you shot it. There are other ways. More police have tasers than before. When they first came out though some very unhealthy individuals died from the jolt so took a while to catch on. Not good for the heart if you are 300 pounds and under 21. Clearly the preferred method of disabling an armed person from a distance provided no other humans in physical contact or close proximity. I would rather be shot than someone throw acid on me or get hit with a blade of some size or drive into me like you hear happening in England. Armed men enter a school and kill or take hostage students in many countries but we have to scroll very far down the screen on the news page to read about that. You live in utopia. A traffic stop and a domestic call are the two most dangerous calls for a police officer to respond to from the well being of the officer and other civilians at the scene. A bank robbery would be a walk in the park. Their presence at schools is meant to be a feeling of safety. The officer made it easier to turn left out of the lot. You know gangs won’t be that close to the school. Their presence at a school dance is meant to put everyone at ease who is supposed to be there and make think twice those who should not be there. Not to arrest 5 people for drinking per officer. A fair number of guns used are not legal but stolen or gotten across the border. A fair number of police officers never discharge their weapon. What on earth do your farmers do to scare off predators or when they need to put an injured animal down in a hurry? We have had person with a gun at Walmart but we also had a different person with a gun take out the person with a gun at Walmart as well. If Russia invaded Alaska by land we would not have people training with cardboard cutouts. They have the real thing. People hunt and eat because of guns. Even President Biden earlier in life had guns. I thought Europeans love him? We also have a volunteer army. We have not needed a draft since 1973. You need people exposed to guns in a more positive and useful way for people to sign up. Not all have had experience, but many have. The one thing I do not understand is the shoot and ski competition at the olympics. Why would shooting and skiing need to be a combined skill, except in a James Bond movie? So Baldwin hates guns and campaigns for candidates against yet gets paid 6 figures for holding one in a movie. Hollywood is goofy and I think they need to tone it down and use lasers and things that are not reality based or avoid violence entirely. I’m sure you have crime shows with no weapons.

4025.  @wzukr  actually we all have a duty to aid one another. Self Defence extends to the defence of another. Good Samaritan laws ask an ordinary person to give reasonable aid to another. The entire point of the police is to serve and protect. You are quoting something fake I’m afraid even if you see it repeated several places online. The writer did not actually read any Supreme Court decision. Let alone understand any Supreme Court decision. They saw it was quoted by others and got lazy and just stuck it into an article. One major thing to point out that most people don’t realize is the Supreme Court rules based in the argument the lawyers make. They site a particular section of the constitution and various court cases and the Justice rule typically are very narrow as to whether the issue is actually covered by that clause. That is why the court can rehear yet another case on marriage or employment a few years later, sometimes with the same Justices, and rule an entirely different way without being contradictory. There is no special contract between officers and a specific individual. Because of that a person can’t win a law suit against officers or the city because they were victim of a crime and police failed to identify it or stop it. Those writing quote that police don’t have a duty to protect nonsense concern a case regarding that. Not that a police officer can not act to protect a person. That is the entire point of local law enforcement. There is actually not a heroic view of police the last decade or so. Constant attacks. And fake news that the police have no mandate to act at all is disgusting and just meant to cause chaos. The Supreme Court has various law enforcement between the court itself and personal protection sadly with threats against them and I can assure you their intent is to protect the Justices and the Justices expect to be safe because of their service. A few dozen officers died on 9/11. Not all fatalities are because of a firearm. Police have gotten hit by cars during traffic stops and responding to traffic accidents. There are a fair few dangers in the world. This fascination on guns is a bit concerning. The times a suspect does not survive a police interaction is because they had a weapon on them (tried to use their car as a weapon to run over someone) or full of drugs. Drugs in system cause alternative behaviors. A person high as a kite isn’t going to do as commanded, the police will sense a threat and respond accordingly. The idea that the only person who should be allowed a firearm is the person standing in front of an officer is disgusting. There are risks to having one illegally or legally.

4046. They started it. World War 2 didn’t start in 1941. Or the 30’s. It started in 1905 with Korea. They caused misery and death to their neighbors for a generation. They bombed U.S. first. They did not surrender with the regular bombings. Too bad, so sad, sorry not sorry. War is heck. It’s not a scar on American history. It finally ended the war. Could have ended with one bomb. But no.. Most of all since U.S. got an I’m sorry for the war we are trading partners and allies. Not so for their neighbors. I wish they would. Russia and China on the same side as Western Europe and U.S. and Canada and Australia during ww2. Now we get on better with Germany and Japan. Isn’t being on good terms with a former adversary a hopeful and impressive thing? And it was almost immediate. The first to figure out nuclear power was going to be the first to use it. Would you rather be a British, Dutch or American civilian in a Japanese internment camp, a Jew in a concentration camp in Poland, a 14 year old girl in Busan during Japanese occupation sent to be a comfort woman off the peninsula to the war front or a Japanese American interned in the southwest U.S.? Please read what Japan was doing Korea, Nanking, Singapore and other places. They apologized to US for the war but not their neighbors. They are still hostile and deny much of it. U.S. stationed there for generations cause their neighbors are concerned they would become a military nuisance again and Japan is worried if they are not a military nuisance the neighbors would seek retribution. So we babysit.
