Comments by "Scary Fake Virus" (@scaryfakevirus) on "EV Fire Risk on Ships - Government Agency issues MARITIME SAFETY ALERT | MGUY Australia" video.
@GerbenWulff The chance of a Li-ion fire is smaller than the chance of an ICE car fire? Yeah right. That's why they are being banned everywhere. Parked ICE vehicles are rarely a danger. In my profession as a police officer for 30 years the only car fires I came across were arson after theft, some collisions or someone carelessly working on one.

@oldbloke204 That is true for petrol on long haul but not the case with smaller ferries. But EVs are unstable all the time. That's why a Scandinavian Ferry company has banned hem.

@NaughtyGoatFarm I have seen several oil fires and they emit clouds of black smoke. I don't know about white hot!! LOL

@ricco123tube That is not correct we haven't all the details yet. Most of the info is anecdotal or incomplete assessments. The number spread around has never been verified. No one will give me any idea where that 2014 plate came from. I do know the vehicle was on a personalised plate so we don't know the full facts. The fire seen on the video is not diesel. It is too bright and too fierce and has no black smoke either.

@johnnyboy7459 PLEASE tell me where you got the number from because not ONE EV supporter has been able to tell me. When I ask they just disappear into the shadows. My recent info is it was on a personalised plate and was smoking when it drove into the car park and left. That's why the driver was arrested on suspicion. And no they are not on the right always. So I await your response. But I doubt I will get it.

@yellowgreen5229 ICE have been around for 100 years and they are sustainable. EVs are not and they will go under due to plain economics.
4
@johnnyboy7459 We may not have to worry because they'll be banned everywhere soon. The market will see to that.
4
By that time the world will run out of lithium anyway!
4
@angelmessenger8240 And that was exactly where the fire was, behind the nearside rear wheel under the passenger seat.
3
@NaughtyGoatFarm I am a realist not a Luddite and neither am I an ostrich.
3
@johnnyboy7459 Any luck with that clear view of the number plate yet?
3
@johnnyboy7459 I saw it but it disappeared and I asked for it again earlier. The video was crp (not just the visual either) but I will accept the number as E10 EFL for the sake of argument which is a personalised plate. That said the DVLA have previous for getting the details incorrect especially when transferring plates and for them diesel hybrid could well just be diesel. I know that through personal experience. In 2014 Range Rover brought out the Hybrid Range Rover Sport. We still have to wait and see because this is still a very hot potato especially for the Net Zero nuts.

@GerbenWulff I think we all know they are not without problems. It isn't about using them safely because they can and have caught fire when on charge and while parked up too. That isn't the fault of the driver that's a fault with the technology. As I said the market will decide and that doesn't look good for EVs and that's why the propaganda machine is a t full tilt. This will destroy Net Zero and that is a good thing for all of us. If you knew what the agenda was that is.
3
@GerbenWulff I knew this would happen if I talked about carbon dioxide - Comment Deleted!! I have a lot to say about that too. EVs catching fire isn't rare because why are insurance companies, shipping lines, car parks and ferries all having to implement fire precautions which they never have done in the past?
3
@yellowgreen5229 OMG!! You really have been sucked in. Oil reached its peak? Oil is created from hydrocarbons deep underground and it will NEVER run out. You've been had mate. Have you been talking to Greta? LOL
3
Ships have that capability. Leaving sides open or having drop down panels would be far too dangerous and costly. Not only that, would you try to push a flaming EV overboard with the brake engages and steering locked?
3
Have you found it yet? I did see a response from you but it has since disappeared.
2
@AndrewTSq The only reason statistics will show that (at the present time that is) is that there are far more ICE than EVs out there. A parked ICE will rarely ignite even while filling. Arson after theft or insurance is the main cause as you say. Sometimes careless DIYers.
2
@sterobloc6645 Love it.
2
Very true

AMSA don't say this for fun. What shipping line will upgrade their ships like this just so virtue signaling EV drivers can travel? They won't EVs will be banned no doubt. Insurers will ban them too and some have already including some ferries.
1
@kitesurferlee Petrol doesn't explode on its own. It requires a leak and an ignition. Take your head out of the sand.
1
@richardhall6034 Yes all evidence does point to that.
1
@GerbenWulff So EVs are the problem then?
1
@GerbenWulff Net Zero is ridiculous. It isn't to save anything it is to control us and C02 is just a useful tool. It is essential to life on Earth and it isn't any of the things they say it is. If I write too much about this the comment will be deleted if it doesn't happen now! EV fires have the propensity to just ignite on their own. With ICE there has to be a leak and then ignition and that really is rare. If it wasn't don't you think insurance companies and ships etc would have mentioned that by now, but they are banning EVs and it will continue. And that is good in my book, not because I have anything against EVs as such it's just that I understand the agenda.
1
@GerbenWulff That's good enough a reason to ban them until they become as safe as ICEs. But that won't happen because rare Earth metals won't last forever. Hopefully people who buy EVs thinking they are saving the planet will realise it won't do anything of the sort. In fact it's causing terrible pollution and also child slavery.
1
@AndrewTSq You're just a polar bear killer!!! LOL
1
@gremlinfishing4286 I was a return journey on one 4 weeks ago. This wasn't huge it was small in comparison. They all have hydraulic ramps, not always hydraulic decks but in my view to even eject vehicles on that would have been impossible. Vehicles are packed in, not always straight with brakes on. How on Earth would they be able to do that? What ferryman would go near a flaming EV? Would you? But It won't happen because they will very soon have to ban EVs altogether. The costs and dangers would be far too prohibitive. Ford have ceased EV production altogether and that's how it's going now.
1
How many ICE fires have we ever heard of on ships or ferries? If there has been we don't hear of it because they can be put out more easily.
1
@malcolmmckinlay2143 Internal Combustion Engine.
1
EVs should be towed behind ships along with their owners so in the event of a fire it could be cut adrift. Let's see how safe EV heads will feel.
