Keep an eye on them?? But all that smoke with toxic chemicals will always come down in the end. What then? They must be banned. My council has now stopped taking old batteries. If they go into landfill and then catch fire, there could be underground fires they can't extinguish. It's happened before.

Because of the agenda.

@gregb1599 It's the technology, not the fact they are batteries. They can use other rechargable batteries like Nicad. The rest of your comment is nonsensical.

@gregb1599 Firstly, if there is no safe technology then use something which is safe whether it dioesn't last long or not. We always used to live with a bit of inconvenience but these days no one can handle it. L-ion batteries are an ecolgical disaster. There are far too many fires with these things which are not only dangerous but highly toxic too and we don't know what illness will result. Comparing knives, fireworks and seatbelts to this in my opinion is irrelevant.

@gregb1599 In don't have one of those phones and never will have. Yes all products containing lithium batteries should be banned until it becomes a safe commodity. The crazy thing is they are trying to ban all oil and co2 aren't they!!

I did say why they are pushing these batteries but YT decided to delete it.

@lyricallyunwaxable1234 I agree. But the bottom line is power over others as you say. Money is used as a tool to obtain that power.

@lyricallyunwaxable1234 Why would I do that when we need oil to survive and the tech I had was dangerous and toxic? Money doesn't mean much to me personally.

@lyricallyunwaxable1234 LOL

@DanTheCox Yes it would be inconvenient, but we are talking about SAFETY here, not convenience. If the tech is dangerous then it should never have been marketed until they had something safe. The problem was they needed this digital prison for us and they didn't, and still don't care about what is safe and what isn't for the people. Can't you see that?

@gregb1599 I have a small dumbphone and its mostly flat anyway, like my laptop. I use a desk top with hard wiring, no wifi for everyday use. You said I was typing on a phone - I don't. I have never heard of tiny button batteries igniting and if they do it's extremely rare. Small good quality lithium batteries are usually OK. It's the thermal runaway on larger batteries wich are the main problem. Even then, in my opinion they should ban them and use old style batteries until they can. But we have to live. But we do not need EVs, e scooters or very cheap batteries from China.

@JoeOvercoat He sounds like an annoying kid.

@davidclark7584 No, those are safe and effective. They told us didn't they?

@TheNyhm1 Yeah, I thought that too! I never use a phone in my car anyway because of the dangers, but normal things you used to do while driving using easy switches without even thinking, has to be done via a computer screen. Sheer madness!!
