@Sp_75-76 The sills don't have to burn at all. It depends on how the cells flare up and you don't know what the other side was like do you? They could also flare upwards and if it took so long to extinguish the fire then that shows it wasn't just an interior fire.

@daintree2455 I am sure I can guess what the 'medical episode' was too. This is the sort of thing we have with EVs. The virtue signalers and eco fanatics (not so eco really) and the white woolly ruminants just refuse to acknowledge these things. Alice in Wonderland mentality.

An EV owner took me to task after I stated how dangerous it would be if your EV caught fire and the doors auto locked. He told me I was an idiot and that you couldn't get locked into an EV because they always have over-ride handles. My argument was when your car was on fire the last thing you'd think of doing is looking for the user manual in the glove box. So I am NOT and idiot then.

@bernardhayfield355 So you need to read through a manual to open the door in an emergency? If you don't then - you die? What about if you have very young kids in the back? And how about having a manual handle which looks like a friggin' door handle?
