  2.  @johnsjunkyard  Yes, Silver Iodide was used in the Vietnam war on the Ho chi minh Trail. Whether they still use it I don't know.

  3. They remain due to ice nucleation. They are then spread by winds creating Cirrus formations blocking the Sun on what should often be lovely Sunny days. Then they turn to dismal cr*p.

  5. Those probably are contrails but many are persistent contrails formed by ice nucleation. The nucleus being particulates. Persistent contrails can form naturally but the atmospheric conditions are rare. Chemtrails then progress into Cirrus clouds formations and spread out across the sky blocking out the Sun.
